Parents’ Beliefs About the Causes of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Their Relationship to Educational Qualifications
The current study aimed to describe parents’ beliefs about the causes of autism spectrum disorder and their relationship to educational qualifications in Jordan. The study sample included 100 parents of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. The researchers developed a study tool consisting of 10 belief statements and verified its validity and reliability. A descriptive survey approach was employed to address the study questions. The results indicated that the overall distribution of beliefs was within the “average” level, with mean values ranging from 2.71 to 3.01. This suggests that most participants’ opinions ranged from moderate agreement to neutrality regarding the various perceived causes of autism. The standard deviations also reflected moderate variation in responses across all belief statements, with an overall mean score of 2.85 (standard deviation = 0.33), indicating that most participants generally held moderate neutral views about the causes of autism. Furthermore, the results revealed statistically significant differences in the means, showing that parents with higher levels of education held significantly more scientifically grounded beliefs compared to those with lower levels of education. The study recommended raising awareness of autism spectrum disorder and its causes, and emphasizing the importance of collaboration between families and specialists
Support Systems for Parents of People With Autism Spectrum Disorder and Their Relationship to Their Academic Qualifications
This study aimed to assess the level of support systems available to parents of people with autism spectrum disorder and their relationship to academic qualifications. The participants were 120 parents from Amman, Jordan, distributed across three educational levels: high school or lower, bachelor’s degree, and postgraduate studies. A support systems scale for parents of people with autism spectrum disorder (SSSFPASD) was developed, and its validity and reliability were verified. To answer the study questions, the descriptive survey method was employed, and arithmetic means, standard deviations, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffé’s post-hoc test were used to analyze the data and obtain the results. The findings indicated that the availability, accessibility, and utilization of support systems were moderate, with institutional professional support being relatively higher than the other areas. The results also showed that people with higher educational qualifications were more aware of and better able to access and utilize support systems compared to those with a high school diploma or lower. The study recommends increasing awareness among people with lower educational levels about support systems, how to access them, and how to benefit from them, as well as enhancing community awareness and addressing the needs of parents of people with autism spectrum disorder

CrossFit: The Effect of Self-talk on Performance
The goal of this research is to document and explore the effect of self-talk on performance in CrossFit. The outcomes of this research will contribute to the design of an app to help athletes improve their positive self-talk. This study also will help athletes to understand how to be self-conscious, and reflective, and to use visual design to enhance self-talk techniques.
Self-talk is statements that athletes repeat to themselves during training to improve their focus and boost their energy to perform better. The goal of self-talk is to replace negative thinking with more positive messages. It could be motivational such as “Let’s give It all” or “You can do it”, or instructional which focuses on techniques and forms like “engage your core” or “activate your shoulder”. Self-confidence is the key to developing mental toughness, and self-talk is the best strategy to help athletes believe in their ability by saying the right words to themselves. Some athletes might find it difficult to be self-conscious or replace negative thoughts with positive ones.
Physical strength alone is not enough to enhance performance in CrossFit. Optimal performance depends on mental preparation as well as physical preparation. As an athlete in CrossFit, I have never heard the community or coaches speaking about how self-talk can lead to mental toughness. Additionally, there is no research study on mental preparation in CrossFit sports. CrossFit is a combination of Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, and cardio that is performed at high intensity. Speed and form are both equally important in this sport which leads to a lot of pressure and stress on athletes.
In my research, I am going to focus on techniques that develop and document self-talk and its direct effect on specific workouts in CrossFit. My methods will include self-reflective practice, observation, diagramming, experimentation with workout/self-talk combinations, and participant surveys and discussion. I am hoping this study helps the CrossFit community to understand how to be self-conscious, and how to improve their mental toughness through self-talk techniques to enhance their self-confidence and performance in CrossFit through design practices.Discursive designDiagramsSportCrossFitNegative thoughtsPositive affirmationsCommunication designInteraction desig
Psychologists role in Brazilian aviation - present and perspectives
This article describes a Group Discussion ocurred on the I National Congress of the Brazilian Aviation Psychology Association (ABRAPAV), in 2016. Among 158 participants on the event, 146 took part of this Group Discussion: 75 psychologists; 6 Psychology students; 25 other aviation profissionals; 40 professionals with unidentified formation. They chose one of the following subgroups to discuss about Aviation Psychology activities, facilities, difficulties and suggestions: Regular Aviation; Nonregular/ General Aviation; Military Aviation; Regulator Authority/Aeronautical Industry; Clinics/Hospitals; Airclubs/ Aviation Schools/ Universities/Training Centers; Air Navigation/Airports. After the discussion, each subgroup representative presented the results of the main activities, facilities, difficulties and suggestions, respectively, as examples: Aeronautical Accidents Prevention; Managers Recognition, Support and Confidence; Reactive Organizational Cultures, Changes Resistence and Inflexible Manager; Professional Specialization and Specific Standard for Aviation Psychology. This enabled ABRAPAV to map relevant demands in this area and plan strategies for psychologists to minimize constraints and support improvements in their organizations
Adapting information in online brand communities: Protest framing in a neutral setting and the dissolution of person-brand relationships
The subject of this thesis is the adapting of information in online brand communities and how the adapting of that information leads to the framing of protests in a neutral setting and the dissolution of person-brand relationships. The goals of the thesis are to find out how infor-mation is being adapted in the online brand community, how the community members react to that information and how companies should arrange their communication efforts in light of the findings.
The theoretical basis for the thesis is brand community theory that begins from communi-ties and moves towards online brand communities. The brand community theory builds up towards relationship theory and the behavior of community members when facing commer-cial failures. Main frameworks that are discussed in regards of findings are the dissolution of the person-brand relationship by Fajer and Schouten (1995) and the protest framing tactics of Ward and Oström (2006).
A netnographic research was conducted based on the five steps introduced by Kozinets (2002). The netnographic research was conducted on the largest forum devoted to the book series and the television show. The data set included 19 topics with 3 774 total posts, from which 354 posts were selected for the final analysis.
On the basis of the data that was analyzed, the thesis offers four main findings. Firstly, in-formation was used as a conversation starter with sources being validated and discredited based on their link to the showrunners or the author. These validated information sources led the discussion towards a more negative tone. Secondly the community members took ad-vantage of all the protest framing tactics discussed by Ward and Oström (2006), but in addi-tion there were clear counter-tactics being used. Also the protest framing tactics were slightly modified by the protesters due to the neutral setting. Thirdly the person-brand relationship can be seen deteriorating. The commercial failures that the community members have expe-rienced have moved them towards dissolution with some members already nearing disen-gagement. Due to the shifting nature of the current situation, the change in relationship has not been as volatile towards the final dissolution. Fourthly the engagement to the online brand community has not suffered from the commercial failures as of yet, with topics still be-ing created and discussed on the forums. It can be even seen as increasing, but still the shift in the author's intrinsic motivations of altruism can be seen, which can have an effect on the community engagement in the future

Notes for a critical reading of the “Auto da Compadecida”.
This work consists of a critical reading about the playwright titled 'Auto da Compadecida ', written in 1955. The first on stage of the aforementioned work dates from September 11, 1956 at the Teatro Santa Isabel by the Teatro do Adolescente de Recife. The author of the work, Ariano Suasuna, professor, novelist, playwright and poet, was born in the city of João Pessoa, on June 16, 1927. 'Auto da Compadecida' encompasses several "short stories" organized around the main line about two friends who struggle to survive in the Sertão of Paraíba. Faced with extreme poverty, João Grilo and Chicó involve the inhabitants of the city (dominant class) in their tricks to solve their problems. The aim of this work is to generate notes about the work through a critical reading. We will reflect on the dominant classes and their relationship with the people. Thus, we will consider the characters in their symbolic value through the socioeconomic and cultural condition: ' Baker ' (bourgeois), the Church (clergy), ' Major Antônio Morais ' (aristocracy), the people represented mainly by João Grilo. We intend to point out the oppression exerted by the dominant class (Baker, Major Antônio Morais and the power of the church) to the poor people and reinherited to misery and obliged to use the cleverness to resist (João Grilo).Este trabalho consiste em uma leitura crítica a respeito da ‘Auto da Compadecida’, escrita em 1955.
