The article defines the literary work of Alma Karlin by genre. She was a writer from Celje that wrote in German. Between the two world wars, she was a famous and a very popular author. In Yugoslavia, after the Second World War, she was disregarded and ignored as a “German” author. The article divides her prose into autobiography, travelogue, and fiction. From the standpoint of literary science, Alma Karlin’s prose had been unexplored for a long time. In the article, her examples are analyzed in the European context. Alma Karlin is presented as a double, intercultural, German-Slovenian identity.Članek zvrstno opredeljuje literarno delo Alme Karlin, pisateljice iz Celja, ki je pisala v nemščini, bila v obdobju med obema svetovnima vojnama zelo znana in priljubljena avtorica, po drugi svetovni vojni pa v Jugoslaviji kot »nemška« zamolčana in zanikovana. V članku je njena proza razdeljena na avtobiografijo, potopis, avtobiografsko potopisno in fiktivno prozo. Proza Alme Karlin je bila dolgo literarnovedno neraziskana. V članku so analizirani njeni vzorčni primeri in uvrščeni v evropski kontekst. Alma Karlin je predstavljena kot dvojna, medkulturna, nemško-slovenska pisateljska identiteta

Karlin o potovanju v Južno Ameriko, ki so bili objavljeni v časopisu Cillier Zeitung od 15. februarja 1920 do 30. novembra 1921- V drugem delu članka so potopisni feljtoni Alme M. Karlin primerjani z besedili Zofke Kveder, ki pripadajo istemu žanru. Primerjava razkriva, da sta obe pisateljici dobro poznali lastnosti tega žanra, živost in komunikativnost besedil pa sta ustvarjali z vnašanjem leposlovnih pripovednih strategij v publicistično besedilo

Hardening mechanism of commercially pure Mg processed by high pressure torsion at room temperature
No full textCoarse-grained Mg in the as-cast condition and fine-grained Mg in the extruded condition were processed by high pressure torsion (HPT) at room temperature for up to 16 turns. Microstructure observation and texture analysis indicate that to fulfil the Von Mises criterion, the non-basal slip is activated in the as-cast Mg and tension twinning is activated in the as-extruded Mg. Although the deformation mechanism is different in the as-cast Mg and the as-extruded Mg during HPT, their hardening evolutions are similar, i.e. after 1/8 turn of HPT, microhardness of the as-cast Mg and the extruded Mg both show a significant increase and further HPT processing does not significantly further increase the microhardness. Texture strengthening can explain the rapid hardening. Hardness anisotropy and texture data results suggest that texture strengthening plays an important role for both types of samples. Texture strengthening weakens with decreasing grain size
