The accumulation of anthocyanin pigments can exhibit different patterns across plant tissues and crop varieties. This variability allowed the investigation of the molecular mechanisms behind the biosynthesis of these pigments in several plant species. Among crops, carrots have a well-defined anthocyanin pigmentation pattern depending on the genic background. In this work, we report on the discovery of DNA structural differences affecting the activity of an R2R3 MYB (encoded by DcMYB11) involved in anthocyanin regulation in carrot petiole. To this end, we first verified the function of DcMYB11 using heterologous systems and identified three different alleles which may explain differences in petiole pigmentation. Characterization of the DcMYB11 alleles at the 5' upstream sequence unveiled a sequence that functions as a putative enhancer. In conclusion, this study provides novel insight into the molecular mechanisms controlling anthocyanin accumulation in carrot. By these outcomes, we expanded our knowledge on the cis-regulatory sequences in plants.EEA La ConsultaFil: D’Amelia, Vincenzo. National Research Council. This study discusses the thoughts of Muhammad Abid Al-Jabiri about the position of religion in the State which is a research on the thoughts of the figures. The method used in this paper is a library research method using two sources, namely primary sources of the main books of scientific works of figures and secondary sources of books related to the title as supporters in the scientific work. In this study, three formulations of the problem are presented so that they become a reference for the author, namely: First, how is the relationship between religion and the state in historical times? Second, how is the relationship between religion in the state according to Muhammad Abid Al-Jabiri's view? Third, what are the weaknesses and strengths of Muhammad Abid Al-Jabiri's view? With the three main issues above, it can be the formulation of the fundamental problem in this research, so that it is found that the relationship between religion and the State in historical times, from the time of the Prophet to Khulafaurrasydin, many policies are taken that have a mutually beneficial relationship between religion and the State, will but in the post-Khulafaurasyidin era, Islam experienced a setback like during the Umayyad and Bani Abbas. Furthermore, during the Ottoman period European influences began to enter and Mustafa Kemal began to throw away all those labeled as religion and develop a Western way of life. He was the first to carry out massive Secularization. While the relationship between religion and the State according to Muhammad Abid Al-Jabiri in Islam religion is an individual matter so that the relationship between the individual and God is a direct relationship without intermediaries. Separating religion from politics in the sense of avoiding the functionalization of religion and political goals and the consideration that religion is absolutely permanent while politics is relativ and changing. Politics is driven by individual and group interests while religion must be cleaned of political matters because of the Prophet Muhammad. since the early period of his da'wah he had no desire to establish a state and there is no evidence to base this problem on, either in the Hadith or in the narrations of the companions. Then about the weaknesses and strengths of Muhammad Abid Al- Jabiri's thinking, not politicizing religion to gain power, according to him, there are also Islamic values in democracy as well as criticism of Arab practice politics which offers a useful concept to give direction to the ArabIslamic region in particular. and Muslims in general. Weaknesses in Al-Jabiri's opinion are ahistorical practices in which statements are not clear and the references are inaccurate and he places the issue of religion as an individual matter. It is feared that religion as an individual affair will deviate from the boundaries and moral values in accordance with human nature regulated by religion., while humans make rules only by their will

Restoring soil fertility is essential to sustain crop production in order to meet the needs of the ever-blooming population. In this light, the present investigation was carried on the same soil for two consecutive years (2014-15 and 2015-16) in Punjab, Pakistan, to determine the influence of press mud compost (PMC) and mineral fertilizers (NPK) on wheat growth, yield and soil properties. The experiment was composed of an unfertilized control and five inter-exchanging combinations of NPK and PMC (100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, 0:100). 100% PMC (900 kg ha-1) was intermediate in wheat growth and yield between unfertilized and 100% NPK, this latter being the recommended dose of mineral nutrients (120, 100 and 60 kg ha-1 of the respective N, P2O5, and K2O). The 50:50 combinations of NPK and PMC determined the best growth and final yield (+19% vs. 100% NPK), despite an approximately 40% lower nutrient supply with respect to 100% NPK. Soils traits bulk density, pH, organic matter, total N, and available nutrients P and K significantly improved with 100% PMC. Based on the ANOVA, the 50:50 combinations of NPK and PMC was no worse than 100% PMC in bulk density, available P and K, and it was a good compromise between 100% NPK and 100% PMC in organic matter content. Therefore, conjunctive use of PMC and NPK fertilizers appeared a good choice to improve wheat productivity and soil properties. Additionally, the use of PMC will lower the reliance on mineral fertilizers while restoring soil fertility and assuring environmental protection

Milk Supply Chain and Efficiency of Smallholder Dairy Producers in Pakistan

Many developing countries are re-orienting their production and marketing systems by linking local agri-producers with organized supply chain networks and supermarkets to meet increasing consumer demands. However, the existing literature is silent on the effects of such integration on relative inefficiency of smallholder producers. This paper analyzes the effects of such supply chains using data from a natural experiment in the dairy sector of Pakistan. We study the impact of rural milk supply chain, known as milk district, on smallholder efficiency of commercial dairy producers by employing stochastic production frontier and technical inefficiency effects model using survey data of 800 dairy households. While location of dairy households in our sample is exogenously determined, building of milk supply chain indeed decreases technical inefficiency. We detect stronger power of milk district in further reducing technical inefficiency if the farms are located in remote areas, or if their size is relatively large. The advice to policy makers from these results conforms to the standard economic view that market competition leads to decreased levels of technical inefficiency of smallholder producers.supply chain, Production frontiers, Dairy efficiency, Food policy

Sheikh Abid Sindhi (d. 1252 A.H) was one of the most distinguished Islamic scholars, jurists, and prolific authors of the Hanafī School of jurisprudence in the twelfth-century A.H from Sindh. He was widely regarded as one of the foremost experts on Hadīth and one of the omniscient men of the recent era of Hanafī Jurisprudence. His expertise in various branches of Islamic knowledge is unique. The most monumental and significant work of Sheikh Abid Sindhi is a commentary on Durr -ul- Mukhtar named: Tawali -al- Anwar Sharh -al- Durr -ul- Mukhtar. Though the commentaries on Durr -ul- Mukhtar are many and varied, the most famous and widespread commentary is Radd -al- Muhtar by Muhammad Amin ibn Abidin Shami (d.1252 A.H). This book is very crucial among Islamic scholars, but Tawali -al- Anwar is a comprehensive, extensive, rich, and authoritative commentary from every aspect of research. It was studied from the Qur‘ānic perspective, referenced from the verses of the Holy Qur‘ān, Qurānic exegesis (Tafsīr), Hadīths, Science of Hadīth, and jurisprudential approaches of Hanafī scholars and intellectual evidence. Undoubtedly, it deserves to be acknowledged as the finest and comprehensive and informative commentary on Durr-ul-Mukhtar. al-Misbāh fī al-Nahw By Nāsir al-Dīn al-Mutarrizī al-Nahwī (d. 610/1213) A Critical Edition of the Text with the Life History of the Author

Nāsir al-Dīn al-Mutarrizī al-Nahwī (d.610/1213) was one of the most renowned figures in the field of Arabic Grammar. He has left an indelible mark on the world of Arabic language and literature. He is also known as the successor of al-Zamakhsharī. He wrote a number of books but his al-Misbāh fī al-Nahw gained prominence at a level that no other book in this field could claim to achieve. For this reason, a great number of commentaries have been written in every age, of which the most famous are al-Daw and Khulāsat al-I‘rāb written by Tāj al-Dīn al-Isfrā’īnī and ‘Abd al- Karīm al-Tūsī (better known as Hājjī Bābā) respectively. Moreover, its translation into other languages also demonstrates its value as a useful book. Although al-Misbāh has been edited on more than one occasion, the published editions do not fulfil the needs and requirements of modern academic research criteria. The basic aim of this thesis is to present this book with a current modern research style so that the students, teachers and ordinary readers of Arabic language and literature may benefit from this work. This thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the life history of the author and his other works. A brief note of the environment under which he grew up (generally referred to as the ‘Seljuk’ period) is also included in this part. The second part consists of a text edition that deals with the derivation (Takhrīj) of syntactical issues together with the differing opinions of grammarians on syntactical/grammatical issues. This part also proffers the idiomatic English translation of al-Misbāh
