Between text and visually supported narrative – comparison of a fairy tale and a cartoon

    No full text
The thesis deals with the comparison between the two books written by Rudyard Kipling, The jungle book and The second jungle book, Scout handbook The Mowgli stories and the cartoon series The jungle book, published by the Publishing and Record Label RTV Slovenia. It begins with the theoretical presentation of the discussed concepts, typology of prose, fairy tales, motives, themes, ethics and values in Children’s literature, cartoons and scouts. These topics are followed by a Rudyard Kipling's biography and revision of the availability of his work in the Slovenian libraries. Furthermore we can find a comparison between The jungle book, The second jungle book, Mowgli stories, cartoons The jungle book, which focuses on literary types, external and internal structure of the works. The works were compared based on the following elements: literary genre, literary type, the number of issues, the number of chapters/episodes, the sequence of chapters/episodes, the narrator, literary time, literary place, characters, motives, themes, ethics, values and the content. The comparison is followed by a interpretative discussion of the conclusions of research. In the final part of the thesis it was revised where in the Curriculum for Slovene Rudyard Kipling is mentioned, what the bond between the author and scouting is, and how to achieve some of the operational goals from the Curriculum for Slovene. The revision is followed by a sample of how to prepare literature lesson using a part of The jungle book and the elements of the Scout method. In the conclusion the hypothesis are proved or disproved

ObhájenoThis thesis deals with the life and work of the historian Josef Strnad who is considered to be one of the founders of the so-called Older Pilsen Historical School. The author focuses on a more organized review of Strnad´s life, a detailed interpretation of his work in high schools in Pilsen and his job in the Municipal Historical Museum with the connected archives. He pays detailed attention to his scientific heritage and his publication activities. Strnad´s membership in "Spolek přátel vědy a literatury české" (Friends of Science and Czech Literature Association) is also mentioned. An important part is his correspondence with wider background and the summary of Strnad´s general importance for Pilsen, his benefit and his legacy

Title: Investigation of microstructure and phase transformations in zirconium alloys Author: Adam Strnad Department: Department of physics of materials Supervisor: RNDr. Jana Šmilauerová, Ph.D., Department of physics of materials Abstract: In this work, we studied microstructure and phase transformations in three α+β zirconium alloys Zr-4Nb-1Cr, Zr-4Nb-2Al and Zr-6Sn-4Nb. We used methods such as light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy to examine the microstructure of α and β phase and its changes due to homogenization annealing. Differential scanning calorimetry and resistometry were employed to investigate the phase transitions occurring in studied alloys. We determined using these complementary methods the temperature dependency of α → β phase transition. As a result, the beta transus temperature was determined for each alloy. By quenching the samples from temperatures below and above the beta transus, we verified the measured value of beta transus temperature.
