Replication Data for: The Psychology of Online Political Hostility -- A Comprehensive, Cross-National Test of the Mismatch Hypothesis
This repository contains all data and script necessary to reproduce the analyses in "The Psychology of Online Political Hostility: A Comprehensive, Cross-National Test of the Mismatch Hypothesis" by Alexander Bor and Michael Bang Petersen in the American Political Science Review.
The repo is organized as follows.
- `A.original.data` contains raw data files. This is not made publicly available due to privacy concerns. Yet the scripts importing these files are shared nonetheless.
- `B.analysis.data` contains all cleaned data files. The naming convention is studynumber_datatype_(year). e.g. `s1_us_2018` denotes study 1 data, from the USA collected in 2018. For the two Mturk studies (s6 and s7), we share separately the experimental data (e.g. `s6_exp.csv`), and the crowdsourced ratings (e.g. `s6_crowd.csv`). All data files are shared as .rds (used in the analyses) and as .csv (for cross platform accessability).
- `C.code` contains all R scripts. The five `import_s....R` files import raw data from `A.original.data` and export them to `B.analysis.data`. The four `analysis...R` files analyse data, and produce all statistics, figures and tables reported in the paper.
- `D.documents` contains all `figures` and `tables` (in respective folders), as well as the pre-registration files for studies s3-s5.

Notebooks from Bor
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the first reading room within the National Library Bor, in Zlot in 1869, the library published a new edition of the "Notebook from Bor" by Miklos Radnoti, a Hungarian poet who wrote his last poems during forced labour in the Nazi labour camps in Bor and its surroundings. "Notebook from Bor" translated by Danilo Kish, together with a strip book drawn and written by Aleksandar Zograf and a text about this collection of poems authored by Prof. Dr. Zoran Paunović was inspired by the poet's tragic fate. Radnotije's "Notebook from Bor" in Kiš's translation and with a foreword by Alexander Tišma was the first edition of the National Library of Bor, published in 1979.Ovo izdanje pripremljeno je na osnovu Radnotijeve "Borske beležnice" objavljivane u izdanjima: Strmom stazom, Forum, Novi Sad, 1961; Borska beležnica, Narodna biblioteka Bor, Bor 1979; Tolnai Gabor, Zadnja deonica „Strme staze”, Bor 1984; digitalizovanog originalnog rukopisa, koji se čuva u Legatu Mikloša Radnotija u Biblioteci Mađarske akademije nauka (http://radnoti.mtak.hu/hu/04-01.htm). Notebook from Bor
The poems translated and published in this book come from a mass grave in the village of Abda in northwestern Hungary. During the exhumation, after the war, they were found in the back pocket of one of the twenty-two bodies of people killed by rifle and revolver bullets, mostly in the back of the head. A notebook with the title "Avala 5" printed in Cyrillic was found in the back pocket of the pants of body number 12. The identified body was the corpse of Dr. Miklós Radnóti, and the poems written in that notebook were the last works of this Hungarian poet. Radnoti bought the notebook in Serbia, in Bor, from a peasant, and he wrote all the poems contained in it as a forced laborer in the Bor mine during the occupation, which explains and makes sense of their publication in the Serbo-Croatian language by the National Library in Bor.
