Emilia Pardo Bazán and the fight for women’s rights: an analysis of her non-fiction production and of Morriña
The aim of the present thesis is to analyze the role of the woman in the 19th century Spain, a role mainly limited to the home environment and which attributes to the woman a position of submission to the male figure. In the 19th century Spanish society the woman does not enjoy the same rights as man and her only aspiration is marriage. In the literary scenario between the 19th and the 20th century stands out the figure of Emilia Pardo Bazán, an author who, throughout her life and her literary production, has fought for women’s rights. The author supports the feminist cause and she firmly believes that women’s access to education and work would provide the country’s progress and would help women achieve emancipation. The novel titled Morriña (1889) by Emilia Pardo Bazán, through the history of the maid Esclavitud Lamas, describes the condition of the woman during that time and the prejudices of a patriarchal society
Camilo Pardo Umaña, special for El Tiempo

Periodontal Healing after Lower Third Molars Extraction: A Clinical Evaluation of Different Flap Designs
Periodontal healing after third molars extraction seems to be influenced by the choice of different flap techniques. The purpose of the present study was to assess the clinical condition of adjacent first and second molar sites, after the extraction of lower third molars, performed through different flap designs. Eighty patients, aged between 14 and 30 years, were analyzed for periodontal parameters of VPI, PPD, and CAL, pre-operatively (T0), after 15 days (T1), after 1 month (T2), and after 2 months (T3) from extraction. Techniques performed were trapezoidal flap (TRAP), marginal flap (MARG), flap with papilla detachment (DETP), and flap with papilla decapitation (DEC). No significant differences were found between the four flaps at each observation time and considering the interval between T0 and T3, for VPI, PPD at first molar site, PPD at second molar site, and CAL at second molar site. Significant variations for CAL were registered, for each flap, between T0 and T3, in all cases for buccal site, in three cases for buccal-distal site. After 2 months of follow-up, no strong evidence can be assumed for or against the use of a particular flap design for the extraction of lower third molars

In most of these adaptations the text has not been preserved, but we have reports that should be known, because they show the projection of the literary work of Emilia Pardo Bazán. The author in this article examines six plays, resulting from the stage adaptation of narrative works of Emilia Pardo Bazán, made when the writer had already given up her dramatic creation and her hopes of succeeding in the theater. age and gender. Firstly, we propose the EmoGraph method for modelling the way people use
the language to express themselves on the basis of an emotion-labelled graph. We apply this
representation model for identifying gender and age in the Spanish partition of the PAN-AP-13
corpus, obtaining comparable results to the best performing systems of the PAN Lab of CLEF.

Uncovering Plagiarism - Author Profiling at PAN
[ES] PAN is a yearly workshop and evaluation lab on uncovering plagiarism, authorship, and social software misuse. Since 2009, PAN has been organizing benchmark activities on uncovering plagiarism, authorship, and social software misuse . An additional task - author profiling - has also recently been proposed. Author profiling, instead of focusing on individual authors, studies how language is shared by a class of people. Author profiling is a problem of growing importance in applications in forensics, security and marketing. For instance, a person working in the area of forensic linguistics may need to know the linguistic profile of a suspected text message (language used by a certain type of person) and identify characteristics (with language as evidence). Similarly, from a marketing viewpoint, companies may be interested in determining, through the analysis of blogs and online product reviews, what types of people like or dislike their products.Rosso, P.; Rangel Pardo, FM. Emilia Pardo Bazán: Feminism in Her Life and Works
The purpose of this investigation is to show the relationship between the autobiographical information evidenced by the principal female characters in Emilia Pardo Bazan's major novels and her influence on nineteenth-century feminism in Spain. The changing nature of Pardo Bazan's feminism is studied through an analysis of two literary phases in her work. In the first, classified as naturalistic, Pardo Bazan concentrates on the nineteenth century woman and her limited role within society. The second phase reveals a change of perspective as the author creates a character type: this "new woman" is an expression of her feminist beliefs. As Pardo Bazan sought support for feminist goals, diverse intellectual activities characterized her life and became an integral aspect of her art
