Understanding route switch behavior: An analysis using GPS based data

choice of multiple routes for the same origin-destination (OD) trip. In this study we used a database of 361 morning commute
trips, regarding 66 users, collected in the metropolitan area of Cagliari (Italy) during the “Casteddu Mobility Styles” survey. Data
were collected for a 14 days period through a personal probe system called Activity Locator (Meloni, et al., 2011), a smartphone
that integrates a GPS logger for the acquisition of the routes and an activity/travel diary. Mixed logit models are estimated, in
order to take into account the variability of user perception. Results show that route switch behavior is influenced by the number
of traffic lights per km, percent of highways, time perception, gender, age, individual income and driving experience in relation
with the minutes per km

No full textHow does a blind person perceive architectural space? This text explores the relationship between body, perception and architecture, analizing how sighted and blind people understand and mentally reconstruct space. At the centre of the research is the Edoardo Chiossone Museum of Oriental Art in Genoa, designed by Mario Labò and the subject, over time, of reflections on accessibility, including the project – never built – by Gae Aulenti, conceived to expand the building and improve its usability, without affecting its architectural value. Through an investigation that intertwines perception, representation and wayfinding, the author addresses the expressive potential of multisensoriality and proposes an idea of accessibility that goes beyond the removal of physical barriers. The history and complex path of the museum become the terrain for experiments conducted in collaboration with the Italian Union of the Blind and Partially Sighted, opening up new ways of exploring and understanding space. Digital technologies such as panoramic photography and virtual tours are integrated with the bodily experience of a real visit, supported by physical tools that activate touch and hearing, promoting a deeper understanding of architecture. A new range of tools emerges for a truly inclusive museum experience. The result is a current and necessary reflection on the design of architectural space, understood as a sensitive experience, accessible and shared by all.PublishedCome percepisce lo spazio architettonico una persona cieca? Questo testo esplora il rapporto tra corpo, percezione e architettura, analizzando come vedenti e non vedenti comprendano e ricostruiscano mentalmente lo spazio. Al centro della ricerca vi è il Museo di Arte Orientale Edoardo Chiossone di Genova, progettato da Mario Labò e oggetto, nel tempo, di riflessioni sull’accessibilità, tra cui il progetto – mai realizzato – di Gae Aulenti, pensato per ampliare l’edificio e migliorarne la fruibilità, senza intaccarne il valore architettonico. Attraverso un’indagine che intreccia percezione, rappresentazione e wayfinding, l’autore affronta le potenzialità espressive della multisensorialità e propone un’idea di accessibilità che va oltre la rimozione delle barriere fisiche. La storia e la complessa percorrenza del museo diventano terreno per sperimentazioni condotte in collaborazione con l’Unione Italiana Ciechi e Ipovedenti, aprendo a nuove modalità di esplorazione e comprensione dello spazio. Tecnologie digitali come la fotografia panoramica e i virtual tour si integrano con l’esperienza corporea della visita reale, supportata da strumenti fisici che attivano il tatto e l’udito, favorendo una comprensione più profonda dell’architettura. Ne emerge una nuova gamma di strumenti per una fruizione museale realmente inclusiva. No full textAbstract [IT]: ABSTRACT (EN): Il saggio offre alcuni spunti di riflessione sulla formazione del Governo Meloni in apertura della XIX legislatura della Repubblica italiana. Fornendo una prospettiva giuridico-costituzionale sulla prassi istituzionale, l'articolo si sofferma dapprima sugli sviluppi della campagna elettorale e sull'esito delle elezioni politiche del 25 settembre 2022 per poi passare a una breve rassegna dei tratti che caratterizzano la formazione del Gabinetto Meloni, il quale testimonia un ritorno alla fisiologia del sistema parlamentare. Alcune considerazioni sono dedicate alla discussione delle regole alla base della fase di transizione da un Governo all'altro. Infine, qualche nota sui recenti accadimenti e trasformazioni del contesto politico e partitico italiano.
Abstract [EN]: The paper offers some insights on the formation of the first Meloni Cabinet at the opening of the 19th legislature of the Italian Republic. Providing a legal-constitutional perspective on institutional practice, the paper will first focus on the developments of the electoral campaign and the outcome of the general election on September 25, 2022. Then, it moves on to a brief review of the features characterizing the formation of the Meloni Cabinet, which witnesses a return to the physiology of parliamentary system. Some considerations are devoted to discussing the rules underpinning the transition phase from one Government to another. Finally, a few notes on recent events and transformations in the Italian political and party context

No full textThe 43rd UID conference, held in Genova, takes up the theme of ‘Dialogues’ as practice and debate on many fundamental topics in our social life, especially in these complex and not yet resolved times. The city of Genova offers the opportunity to ponder on the value of comparison and on the possibilities for the community, naturally focused on the aspects that concern us, as professors, researchers, disseminators of knowledge, or on all the possibile meanings of the discipline of representation and its dialogue with ‘others’, which we have broadly catalogued in three macro areas: History, Semiotics, Science / Technology. Therefore, “dialogue” as a profitable exchange based on a common language, without which it is impossible to comprehend and understand one another; and the graphic sign that connotes the conference is the precise transcription of this concept: the title ‘translated’ into signs, derived from the visual alphabet designed for the visual identity of the UID since 2017. There are many topics which refer to three macro sessions: - Witnessing (signs and history) - Communicating (signs and semiotics) - Experimenting (signs and sciences) Thanks to the different points of view, an exceptional resource of our disciplinary area, we want to try to outline the prevailing theoretical-operational synergies, the collaborative lines of an instrumental nature, the recent updates of the repertoires of images that attest and nourish the relations among representation, history, semiotics, sciences

No full textThe study of the construction and deconstruction of identities, at both the individual and collective levels, is becoming increasingly important in the context of cultural change in modern post-migrant societies. The ways in which people attempt to perceive and negotiate their individualised forms of existence in intercultural contexts, or to make sense of their experiences of themselves and others, intensify the social debate on the understanding of integration, inclusion and social cohesion.
This volume examines identity as a dynamic and open process that encompasses cultural, social, linguistic and biographical dimensions of life. Contributors explore how identity can evolve from a concept strongly shaped by social and religious norms to a fluid and contextual construct. Particular attention is paid to the construction of identity within German-speaking, East Slavic and Arabic-speaking communities. The volume is aimed primarily at researchers and students in the fields of linguistics and literary studies who are concerned with the manifestation of identity in texts and other media. It is also suitable for all readers who wish to explore the many facets of identity in language and literature.Die Auseinandersetzung mit Fragen nach der Konstruktion und Dekonstruktion von Identitäten, auf individueller sowie kollektiver Ebene, gewinnt im Zuge des kulturellen Wandels moderner postmigrantischer Gesellschaften zunehmend an Bedeutung. Die Art und Weise, wie Menschen ihre individualisierten Existenzformen in interkulturellen Kontexten wahrzunehmen und auszuhandeln versuchen oder ihre Erfahrungen von sich selbst und anderen begreifbar machen, verstärkt die gesellschaftliche Debatte rund um das Verständnis von Integration, Inklusion und sozialem Zusammenhalt.
Der Sammelband untersucht Identität als dynamischen und offenen Prozess, der kulturelle, soziale, sprachliche und biografische Dimensionen des Lebens umfasst. Die Beiträge beleuchten, wie sich Identität von einem stark durch soziale und religiöse Normen geprägten Konzept hin zu einem fluiden und kontextabhängigen Konstrukt entwickeln kann. Besonderes Augenmerk wird auf die Identitätskonstruktion in deutschsprachigen, ostslawischen und arabischsprachigen Gemeinschaften gelegt. Der Band richtet sich in erster Linie an Forschende und Studierende im Bereich der Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaft, die sich mit dem Thema der Identitätsausprägungen in Texten und anderen Medien auseinandersetzen. No full textIl presente contributo evidenzia le potenzialità del virtual tour nell’ambito dell’accessibilità di spazi museali, analizzando il caso del Museo di
Arte Orientale Edoardo Chiossone di Genova. Il testo esamina le potenzialità delle applicazioni di fotografia panoramica e le sue declinazioni accessibili. Il virtual tour, grazie anche alla sua semplicità di utilizzo, è considerato uno strumento efficace per il superamento, almeno virtuale, delle barriere architettoniche. Esso offre un’esplorazione dinamica, immersiva e incentrata sulla vista, la quale però rappresenta un limite in quanto non considera la totalità delle persone che, per diverse ragioni, necessitano anche del supporto di informazioni multisensoriali. Lo strumento sviluppato nella seguente ricerca intende evidenziare le implementazioni multimediali del virtual tour, con l’obiettivo di includere un pubblico più ampio. La fotografia panoramica verrà supportata da suoni, contenuti audio, video e testuali che consentiranno
di arricchire di informazioni l’immagine. L’obiettivo non è quello di definire un prodotto rivolto a categorie specifiche, ma piuttosto offrire
contributi utili per chiunque fruisca di questo strumento, adattandolo alle diverse caratteristiche delle persone. Il virtual tour non intende sostituirsi alla visita ma cerca di implementarla e il suo utilizzo consente a tutti di accedere e vivere il museo in funzione delle proprie possibilità.This paper highlights the potential of virtual tours in the context of accessibility of museum spaces, analyzing the case of the Oriental Art Museum Edoardo Chiossone. The text examines the possibility of panoramic photography applications and their accessible declinations. Thanks in part to its user friendliness, the virtual tour is considered an effective tool to overcome, at least virtually, architectural barriers. It offers a dynamic, immersive and sight-centred exploration, which, however, represents a limitation as it needs to consider the totality of people present who, for various reasons, also need the support of multisensory information. The tool developed in the following research aims to highlight multimedia implementations of the virtual tour to include a wider audience. The panoramic photograph will be supported by sound, audio, video, and textual content that will enrich the image with information. The goal isn’t to define a product aimed at specific categories rather it is to offer valuable contributions for anyone who uses this tool, adapting it to the different characteristics and needs of people. The virtual tour is not intended to replace a real life the visit but seeks offer other alternatives it, and its use allows everyone to access and experience the museum according to their possibilities
