    Protocolo de cuidado inicial al paciente politraumatizado Hospital Central Dr. Antonio María Pineda, Barquisimeto Estado Lara-2016

    La presente investigación tiene por objeto proponer un protocolo del cuidado inicial de enfermería al paciente politraumatizado en el Hospital Central Universitario Dr. Antonio María Pineda, Barquisimeto estado Lara. Metodológicamente, se enmarca en un paradigma positivista, con enfoque cuantitativo, de campo, descriptiva y proyectiva, en la modalidad proyecto factible, en donde a través de la operacionalización de variables en base a las dimensiones generalidades para el cuidado óptimo, cuidados de enfermería en atención primaria y prevenir complicaciones más frecuentes, se ha aplicado un instrumento de recolección de datos a una muestra de 25 enfermeras del Servicio de Emergencia del Hospital Central Antonio María Pineda, en función de diagnosticar la necesidad de diseñar un protocolo para el cuidado inicial de enfermería en el paciente politraumatizado. Dicho instrumento, diseñado por Sotomayor y Rodríguez (2013), atiende a una escala de likert, con las opciones de respuesta siempre, casi siempre, algunas veces, casi nunca y nunca, el cual fue validado por tres expertos. Los resultados obtenidos permiten determinar que aun y cuando el personal posee conocimientos en cuanto al cuidado inicial del paciente politraumatizado, no existe un esquema para la dispensarización de cuidados, por lo que se propone un protocolo del cuidado inicial de enfermería al paciente politraumatizado que llega a la Emergencia del HCAMP. Se concluye que existe la necesidad de estandarizar los cuidados de enfermería en el paciente politraumatizado y se recomienda el uso del protocolo inicial para el paciente politraumatizado diseñado

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used

    The scientific revolution occurs whenever no explanation is achieved social facts or phenomena within the current paradigm. Building science is not a fortuitous event, in my opinion, an idea might arise and excellent research there occurs or that explanation and argument promote that idea valid knowledge. But from there to consider as a scientific researcher who is starting in the depths of the research is very ambitious. To be a scientist you have to burn stages and much learning. If we remember what points Popper in their worlds to produce knowledge, it is necessary to learn by doing and gradually moving from the perception of the physical world, a personal knowledge through metacognition, so you can learn before making and produce an implicit knowledge. Already in a more mature stage explicit knowledge is produced and socializes in tangible or virtually. A novel research researcher produces free, without attaching producing experience and paradigm. But the reality lived in a university educational environment is that experienced or mature researchers form us as his research assistants in their world (coffin) and when we mature as researchers will be his disciples and therefore we will be part of that normal science Kuhn of mention. So, to paraphrase Kuhn, paradigms are the framework and foundation from which the student is prepared to take part as a member of a scientific community that will work. Progressively skills as an investigator are consolidated into maturity in research. Revolutionary research will produce extraordinary results.La revolución científica se produce cada vez que no se consigue explicación a los hechos sociales o a los fenómenos dentro del paradigma vigente. Construir ciencia no es un hecho fortuito, a mi entender, puede ser que una idea surja y de allí se produzca una excelente investigación o que la explicación y argumentación de esa idea promueva conocimientos válidos. Pero de allí a considerar como científico a un investigador que se está iniciando en las profundidades de la investigación, es muy ambicioso. Para ser un científico hay que quemar etapas y mucho aprendizaje. Si recordamos lo que apunta Popper en sus mundos para producir conocimiento, es necesario aprender-haciendo e ir pasando gradualmente de la percepción del mundo físico, a un conocimiento personal a través de la metacognición, por lo que se puede aprender antes de hacer y producir un conocimiento implícito. Ya en una etapa más madura el conocimiento producido es explícito y se socializa en forma tangible o virtual. Un investigador novel produce investigaciones libres, sin la atadura que produce la experiencia y el paradigma. Pero la realidad vivida en un ambiente educativo universitario es que los investigadores experimentados o maduros nos formen como sus asistentes de investigación en su mundo (ataúd) y que cuando maduremos como investigadores seremos sus discípulos y por lo tanto pasaremos a formar parte de esa ciencia normal de la que Kuhn hace mención. Así, parafraseando a Kuhn, los paradigmas constituyen el marco y fundamento desde el cual se prepara al estudiante para formar parte como miembro de una comunidad científica con la que trabajará. Progresivamente las competencias como investigador se van consolidando hacia la madurez en investigación. Será revolucionaria la investigación que produzca resultados extraordinarios
