No full textNella presente ricerca si è voluto indagare se il percorso educativo Musica e BenEssere (che utilizza attività musicali d’insieme basate sull’ascolto e sulla produzione vocale e strumentale) fosse stato in grado di migliorare l’empatia in un gruppo di bambini di quattro anni. I risultati ottenuti indicano che il training è stato efficace nel migliorare la capacità empatica dei bambini verso tutte le emozioni considerate (gioia, tristezza, paura, rabbia) e soprattutto verso emozioni di tono edonico negativo.In the present research, the authors examined the contents and the methods of the educational course Music and well-Being (that uses global musical activities based on listening, and on vocal and instrumental production) in order to check its efficiency in improving empathy in a group of four year old children. The results show that the training has been efficient in improving the empathic ability of children towards all emotions considered (joy, sadness, fear, anger) and above all towards emotions of negative hedonic tone
ARCHAEOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF WALL COATINGS FROM THE CHALCOLITHIC SITE OF SU CODDU (SARDINIA, ITALY)
No full textThis paper addresses the archaeometric analysis of several wall coatings applied to diverse architectural structures (wells, silos and domestic spaces) from the Chalcolithic site of Su Coddu/Canelles (Sardinia, Italy; c. 3400-2850 BC). The study of the samples was carried out by means of optical microscopy by thin-section analysis, micro X-Ray Diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscopy combined with Energy Dispersive XRay Spectroscopy. The study showed the application of successive layers of different thickness and granulometry to isolate the architectural structures. On the one hand, up to two layers made with a Tertiary fossiliferous marly clay as plaster are documented. On the other hand, the application of a very thin final layer very rich in calcite is observed in the majority of the samples studied. The analyses conducted evidence certain variability in the technological choices made by the craftpeople. However, it is also observed a clear adaptation of the properties of the studied materials to the insulating and waterproofing function that they played in such architectural structures
Development and evaluation of a novel low-cost sensor-based knee flexion angle measurement system

Knee injuries play a large part of musculoskeletal traumas in sporting activities and the
rehabilitation can require a long period, for both the patients and the specialists, to restore
healthy condition. A reliable, portable and low cost system that could allow quick, simple
and effective measures of knee flexion angles, would greatly improve the evaluation of
the rehabilitation process and the subsequent planning procedure, with meaningful
reduction of the recovery time and cost.
Methods
It is proposed a novel tool for the non-stop measurements of the knee flexion angles,
based on the adoption of an elastic sensor embedded in an easy-to-realize wearable
kneepad. We fully characterized this tool in terms of accuracy, repeatability and
reliability of the measure, and validated it against the gold-standard Vicon.
Results
Our tool demonstrated good reproducibility and repeatability among testers (mean Range
of measures = 5.82° ± 1.93°) and high accuracy (root mean square error <1.28°), together
with a good reliability (Intraclass Correlation Coefficient between 0.80 and 0.91).
Conclusions
The proposed tool demonstrates good performances, is portable, cheap, easy to use, and
allows automatic measurements, so to be a valuable system for accurate non-stop
measurement of knee angles

La difficoltà è quella di riuscire a soddisfare il limite superiore imposto sul grado di ogni vertice. Nel 1994, gli studiosi Fürer and Raghavachari hanno presentato un algoritmo polinomiale con il quale si trova un albero ricoprente in cui il grado di ogni vertice viola quello fissato al massimo di un’unità. Tale algoritmo rappresenta sostanzialmente la migliore soluzione possibile al problema presentato in questa tesi.Given a graph G= (V, E), the search for its minimum cost spanning tree with bounded degree is a problem that is probably not solvable in polynomial time. The difficulty is to be able to satisfy the degree upper bound imposed on each vertex. In 1994, Fürer and Raghavachari presented a polynomial algorithm to find a spanning tree violating the degree bound by at most one.
