Konstruksi Otoritarianisme Hukum Islam Menurut Khaled M. Abou El-Fadl
Quran was sent down for the humanity, its consequently guiding to drive justice, dignity and a mercy of the universe. This paper tried to discribe of the triangle of text, reader and author in islamic legal opinion. The cource strictly to differ where are authoritative and authoritarian in the same time. Here is Khaled Khaled as a prominent moslem thinker standing consistantly in front line againts wahabism on its fatawa or islamic legal opinions. Khaled offers methodology of how to interpret of the meaning of the law texts, it is hermeneutic. The characteristics of this kind of methodology is that there is closed relation to the author, text, context, and interpreting of reader. So, the meaning of Islamic law texts can be classified into two categories, authoritarianism and authoritative meaning
PROBLEM TERMINOLOGI MODERAT DAN PURITAN DALAM PEMIKIRAN KHALED ABOU EL-FADL
The war of ideas which happen today is more than just the battle of arguments, concepts, or ideas. Moreover, the terminology of a word is also be a battle of the idea. The war of terminology raised new terminologies derived from Western worldview, which is not in accordance with Islam. In the end, Western terminology related to Islam raised a lot of debate and discourse among scholars. As we know, the West has its own valuesand worldviews on life, which certainly have an impact on ideas, and ideologies. Surprisingly, lot of Muslim scholars used the western terminology in some of their ideas. One of them is Khaled Abou el-Fadl. In this article, the author tries to study the moderate and the puritan terminology created by Khaled Abou el-Fadl. He was a contemporaryIslamic thinker from Kuwait. With both of the terms (moderate and puritan), he has dichotomized Muslims into two distinct groups. This paper will try to describe the problem of moderate and puritanical in Khaled Abou El Fadl’s thinking and its implication to the Islamic Ummah.<br /
Pemikiran Hermeneutika Khaled M. Abou El Fadl: Dari Fikih Otoriter Ke Fikih Otoritatif
This article is an analysis of the book written by Khaled M. Abou el-Fadl entitled Speaking in God's Name: Islamic law, Authority and Women, which tries to explain the thoughts of Khaled M. Abou El Fadl who carries the theory of authority by using a hermeneutic approach as an analytical knife in addressing The problems of Islamic law that have developed so far are still considered discriminatory, in Khaled M. Abou El Fadl's terms referred to as interpretation authoritarianism. The hermeneutics that Khaled M. Abou El Fadl developed is oriented towards the authority of the interpretation of a text by negotiating the text, the author and the reader by paying attention to three things, namely; competence (authenticity), determination of meaning, and representation. According to Khaled M. Abou El Fadl, these three main issues play an important role in shaping the authority holders in Islamic discourse
Echoes of Al-Andalus: Unveiling the Arab Influence on Medieval European Troubadour Poetry
This study meticulously examines the influence of Arab literary traditions on the troubadour poetry of medieval Europe, particularly within the regions of Occitania and Southern France. Employing a Comparative Cultural Analysis, the research highlights the thematic and stylistic intersections between these two distinct yet interconnected literary traditions. Central to the findings is the profound impact of Arab poetry\u27s thematic depth, stylistic innovations, and conceptual contributions on the evolution of troubadour poetry. The analysis, enriched by the scholarly insights of Maria Rosa Menocal and the poetic compilations of Abdullah Al-Udhari, underscores the shared motifs of love, longing, and human experience, illustrating a transcultural literary kinship. Key texts and scholarly contributions illuminate the nuanced ways Arab poetic forms and emotional expressiveness have permeated and enriched European troubadour poetry. This paper addresses scholarly debates surrounding the recognition of Arab influences, advocating for a broader acknowledgment of this cultural confluence within literary history. The findings advocate for an inclusive approach to literary studies, recognizing the diversity of influences that shape artistic expressions. Ultimately, this research not only sheds light on the Arab contributions to European literary traditions but also affirms the role of poetry in bridging cultural divides, enriching the interconnected narrative of the medieval Mediterranean world
Between Persona and Shadow: A Feminist–Jungian Dissection of The Silence of the Lambs
By refracting modern anxieties through Jung’s Shadow and Persona archetypes and the process of individuation, this study reveals how The Silence of the Lambs fuses deep psychic fractures with rigid institutional constraints to conjure its unique form of monstrosity. A close reading of Buffalo Bill’s desperate pursuit of self, Hannibal Lecter’s cultivated menace, and Clarice Starling’s struggle for agency demonstrates that fragmented identity and eroded authenticity galvanize the film’s haunting power. Feminist critique further exposes how entrenched gender norms reshape traditional heroism and villainy under patriarchal pressures. Finally, formal analysis of lighting, framing, editing rhythms, and sound design shows how cinematic form externalizes internal collapse, opening fresh avenues for intersectional and media–technology studies of cinematic monstrosity
KHALED M. ABOU El-FADL’S AUTHORITATIVE HERMENEUTICS: AGAINST AUTHORITARIANISM IN ISLAMIC LAW
Authoritarianism stems from an imbalance between text, author, and reader. The relationship between those three elements must occur dialectically-dynamically. Khaled M. Abou El Fadl scrutinized religious fatwas of fatwa institutions in Saudi Arabia that tend to discriminate against women to prove the existence of authoritarianism in Islamic legal thought. Abou El Fadl stressed the importance of referring to authoritative sources as an embodiment of authoritative law. For him, the Qur’an is the main authoritative source that is no doubt. In contrast, the traditions (Hadith) need further proof, considering the codification of the hadith took place two centuries after the death of the Prophet. Abou El Fadl built his concept of authority based on Friedman’s thinking which distinguishes coercive authority from persuasive authority. He also distinguished between holding authority and assuming authority. The difference between the two will lead to different legal consequences. Based on this, Abou El Fadl offered authoritative hermeneutics as a methodological framework

Literature Review of Advancements in Adaptive Ramp Metering
AbstractOver a period spanning more than 30 years, several ramp metering algorithms have been developed to improve the operation of freeways. Many of these algorithms were deployed in several regions of the world, and field evaluations have shown their significance to improve traffic conditions on freeways and ramps. Previous reviews of ramp metering algorithms focused more on the research outcomes and evaluations of traditional metering algorithms developed in the early stage of ramp metering research. The purpose of this paper is to cover the more recent developments in ramp metering in relation to the traditional metering strategies. Several local and coordinated ramp metering algorithms were reviewed. In summary, Asservissement Linéaire d’Entrée Autoroutière (ALINEA) was found to be the most widely deployed local ramp metering strategy. The algorithm is simple and implementation costs less than other strategies. It also guarantees the targeted performance goals provided that the on-ramp has sufficient storage. Several extensions were proposed in the literature to fine-tune its performance. Among the coordinated metering strategies, zone based metering is simple to implement and easy to re-configure. System-wide adaptive ramp metering (SWARM) algorithm is more sensitive to calibrate for accurate prediction of traffic states. Heuristic ramp-metering coordination (HERO) algorithm can be useful if both local and coordinated control are desired particularly if the local control is using ALINEA. Fuzzy logic based algorithms are gaining popularity because of the simplicity and the fast re-configuration capability. Advanced real time metering system (ARMS) seems theoretically promising because of its proactive nature to prevent congestion; however, its performance is highly dependent upon accurate predictions. Finally, some guidelines were proposed for future research to develop new proposals and to extend the existing algorithms for guaranteed performance solutions
Kontrol Diri di Media Sosial Perspektif Pemikiran Hermeneutika Hadis Khaled Abou El-Fadl
The main discussion in this paper is how the perspective of the hadith of the Prophet. regarding oral and hand care? Then described in the sub-problems as follows: 1. What is the quality of the hadith about oral and hand keeping? 2. What is the content of the hadith about oral and hand keeping? 3. What are the forms of the hadith application about keeping oral and hand on social media?. Resolving this problem, the author uses a hermeneutical approach in understanding the hadith. Purpose of this study is to find out the quality of the hadith, the content of the hadith and the form of the application of hadith about oral and hand keeping in the world of social media. The estimation of the findings of this study is that this oral guardianship is not only placedin a legal and normative context. Rather it involves the culture and norms of life. In the context of eastern society which refers to the values and order of the east, it is assumed that human beings are part of another human being that is inseparable so as to form a prosperous society protected from deception due to not keeping oral
