A cytochemical and ultrastructructural study of the rat ovary in varied functional states

No full text
Ovarian tissues from rats at differing ages and functional states were studied by light and electron microscopy. Frozen sections were incubated for the demonstration of five hydrolytic enzymes. Histochemically marked alkaline phosphatase activity was mainly restricted to blood vessel walls, but contrary to the results of many previous' workers a cellular reaction was obtained in granulosa cells. The acid, hydrolases each showed a similar distribution pattern. They were generally localised in the germinal epithelium, granulosa cells', theca cells, oocytes, luteinn cells and interstitial cells as well as in macrophages... It: was found thatwith each significant increase in the production' of steroids there was an associated rise in the intensity of the enzyme reactions suggesting that these enzymes play a role in steroid ogenesis. In addition, however, increased .activity also occurred with the onset of follicular atresia and of regressive changes in corpora lutea. This high level of activity was partly due to the '-creased population of invading macrophages' as well as to autolytic changes in the degenerating cells. The electron cytochemical results confirmed the histochemistry. Reaction product for acid phosphatase and aryl sulphatase was localised in lyscsomes,' multivesicular bodies, Golgi complex and within cisternae of endoplasmic-reticulum. In addition to plasma membranes, the reaction product for alkaline ' phosphatase was seen' in lysosome-like bodies, in smooth endoplasmic reticulum and in occasional Golgi elements of theca and granulosa cells, interstitial cells, lutein cells- and, vascular endothelial cells. The theca interns,, interstitial and lutein cells showed' fine structural features considered typical and characteristic of cells concerned with steroid secretion. Whorls of smooth endoplasmic reticulum were found in intimate, relationship with mitochondria and lipids.Theca lutein cells differed from granulosa lutein by their smaller size, and irregular contours, with shorter microvilli and fewer organelles. Regressive lutein cells were recognized by an increased population of lysosomes, autophagic vacuoles, aligned membranes and myelin-like figures,. andby' the reduction in cytoplasmic content of organelles. .It was observed that interstitial cells originate'.,from (1) proliferation' and ingrowth of the the ca interna cells of atretic follicles, (2) differentiation from the ca externs cells through transient intermediate stages. The origin of lysosomes from Golgi'saccules,'smooth 'endoplasmic membranes and pinocytotic invagination of plasma membranes has been inferred on the. basis of morphology and the electron cytochemical localizationn of the enzymes within these structures.. Evidence was also noted for the origin' of multivesicular bodies from intrusion of the plasma membrane on itself to surround`,collections of smooth vesicles taken in from the exterior.</p

Betaria NAE Hastuti. C1306516. 2009. A Translation Analysis of Black English Dialect in The Film The Color Purple. English Department. Faculty of Letters and Fine Arts. Sebelas Maret University. Surakarta. The aims of the study are to find out the types of translation, the accuracy and acceptability of the translation of Black English Dialect in “The Color Purple”. The research is a descriptive qualitative method which employs purposive sampling technique. 174 sentences containing Black English Dialect in The Film The Color Purple were taken as the data. Based on the analysis, the researcher ascertains the following results: First, based on the tabulation, it is apparent that the most dominant type of translating used is literal translation which amounts to 89.7 %. Coming at the second place is the free translation with 8.0 %, meanwhile, word for word translation was used for 2.3 % of the data. From this configuration, the findings of the type of translation suggest that the subtitling is source text oriented. The findings of the research show that out of 174 translations of utterances containing Black English Dialect in The Film The Color Purple directed by Stephen Spielberg, 120 data (68.9 %) are accurate, 45 data (25.9%) are less accurate and 9 data (5.2%) are inaccurate. The mean score of the accuracy level of the translation is 2.7. In terms of acceptability, there are 134 data (77 %) of the translations of utterances containing Black English Dialects in The Film The Color Purple directed by Stephen Spielberg considered acceptable, 36 data (20.4%) are less acceptable and 4 data (2.3%) are unacceptable. The mean score of the acceptability level of the translation is 2.7. From the results, it is expected that the research will give an input to the readers in conducting research on Black English Dialect. It is suggested that other researchers analyze the translation types with different approach or in other classifications in terms of the degree of accuracy and acceptability. They may attempt to analyze it of other sources, such as novels or dramas

I.A. e responsabilità civile. Robot, autoveicoli e obblighi di protezione

No full text
Il contributo mette in evidenza le diverse posizioni sull’intricato rapporto tra responsabilità civile e I.A. L’autore rileva le molteplici sfumature del fenomeno della robotica con particolare riferimento agli incidenti causati dai veicoli a guida autonoma. Vengono rilette in chiave critica le normative di matrice europea e proposte alcune soluzioni, sia sui modelli della responsabilità aquiliana che contrattuale, al fine di garantire un equilibrio tra innovazione tecnologica e diritti fondamentali. The contribution highlights the different positions on the intricate relationship between civil liability and I.A. The author notes the many nuances of the robotics phenomenon with particular reference to accidents caused by self-driving vehicles. European regulations are reinterpreted in a critical key and some solutions are proposed, both on the models of aquilian and contractual responsibility, in order to guarantee a balance between technological innovation and fundamental rights

This study wants to explore administrative management at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Fattah Malang. This research is a qualitative research. Data collection uses the method of documentation and unstructured interviews. The result is that the administrative management at MI Al-Fattah is generally quite good, but there is still a lot that needs to be addressed to achieve an ideal administrative order, starting with the management of student office personnel administration, and the infrastructure has been managed quite well. Al-fattah is a wholehearted service shown by the friendliness of all educators and education staff in serving students and guardians of students. It is necessary to optimize and digitize the overall administrative management to make it easier to acces

Volatility and Nigeria Stock Market Performance: Evidence from Naira-Dollar Exchange Rate and Market Capitalization

No full text
This study investigates volatility and Nigeria stock market performance as evidenced from exchange rate and market capitalization using annual data spanning between 1986 to 2019 as extracted from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) annual statistical bulletin. Johansen and Jesulius cointegration, Error Correction modeling and Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (GARCH) estimation technique was adopted. The GARCH result showed that, exchange rate and market capitalization constitute significant sources of volatility to stock prices in both the short-run and long-run, with coefficients: 103.4074 and 0.15649 of variations in NSE-All Share Index respectively. In addition, coefficient of 〖ECT〗_(t-1) (-0.049851) of error correction estimate indicated that previous years deviation from long run equilibrium is corrected at a speed of 5% implying that, there exists a long-run co-integration or equilibrium relationship among the variables. This paper therefore, recommended that consistent application of Dutch Auction System can be embarked upon by Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to serve the purposes of reducing the parallel market premium, thereby conserving the dwindling external reserves to achieve a realistic exchange rate for the naira. NSE should also create enabling market policy for companies traded on the stock market so as to improve the performance of stock prices through market capitalization
