This executive summary offers an overview of the internship report completed at Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) between March 1st to August 15th, 2023. The purpose of this report is to summarize the major findings, experiences, and recommendations gained during the internship programme. Tasks executed throughout my internship journey advanced my understanding of the department's role in fulfilment of the company's goals and offered exposure to various facets of the industry. Furthermore, the internship allowed me to gain insight and acquire knowledge from experienced professionals within the organization. Interactions with supervisors and teammates on a regular basis opens more doors for the exchange of ideas and knowledge transferring information. The healthy work environment encouraged personal and professional development, allowing for the enhancement of critical skills such as effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Throughout the journey, I have worked on tasks related to the Business Requirement Document, which identifies current process pain points and compares them to as-is and to-be processes. I also helped with the review and interpretation of the Business Value Realization (BVR) by working with business users to calculate the quantitative value and identify the qualitative attributes. Other responsibilities included assisting in the creation and preparation of a P4R FY2023 deck, which includes a proposed timeline and budget for registered and unregistered projects in FY2023, as well as the creation and preparation of the budget transfer request form for current-year unfunded projects. A SWOT analysis is being constructed based on the company, and several recommendations have been identified based on observations and experiences gained during the internship to further improve PETRONAS' operations and efficiency. These include process improvements, technology implementation, strategic initiatives, and so on [details of recommendations are embedded in a specific section in this report]. In its entirety, the internship at Petroliam Nasional Berhad was a rewarding experience that provided valuable insights into the industry as well as the internal operations of the organization. Being able to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world environment has improved professional skills and aided in personal development

Lluvia raincoat backpack / Akmal Fahmi Mohammad Zamri … [et al.]

LLUVIA is delighted to be a pioneer in the development of a new and distinctive product that will surely influence the bag and raincoat industry's trends. This product is named after the company’s name, which translates to "rain" in Spanish. Our product combines two products into one, namely a bag and a raincoat. It's been created to work together, with the bag acting as a tool for carrying our possessions and the raincoat acting as a lifesaver when it's raining. The company illustrates how combining two products into a single item might save money over buying two items individually. Malaysia's weather may be fickle. Malaysia is, without a doubt, a hot nation due to its location on the equator (Garisan Khatulistiwa). Because of our high humidity, big rains arrive at the most inconvenient times. In the morning, a dazzling sky can be seen. However, as time passes, the sky gradually darkens. People do not bother bringing their umbrellas in the morning since the sky appears to be so brilliant. Raincoat backpack is another alternative for people to avoid bad weather. Our raincoat is made from polyester microfiber material, a special waterproof coating which makes it perfect to protect us from rain. Raincoat backpack not only protects ourselves but also our belongings such as laptops, tabs and smartphones. Imagine the chaotic hustle when you are rushing to go to class or office and both of your hands are already full with carrying items that may not be suitable to be kept in the bag. People frequently forget to bring their umbrellas, or they may believe that taking an umbrella adds to the load of whatever they are carrying at the time. Problems may be solved in the blink of an eye now that Lluvia Raincoat Backpack has hit the market

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    Get PDF
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    koamabayili/VECTRON-author-checklist: VECTRON author checklist

We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
