Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Pola Penggunaan Obat Antihipertensi Pada Pasien Hipertensi di Instalasi Rawat Jalan Rumah Sakit
Hypertension is a condition of a person experiencing an increase in blood pressure above normal, namely systolic blood pressure 140 mmHg and or diastolic blood pressure 90 mmHg. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of use of antihypertensive drugs in hypertensive patients in the outpatient installation of RSUD Sultan Syarif Mohamad Alkadrie Pontianak in 2020. The method used was descriptive observational method with a cross sectional design. Data collection was carried out retrospectively through searching medical record data and patient prescription data for the period January-December 2020. The results showed that the characteristics of patients based on age who suffered the most from hypertension were in the age range of 56-65 years, the sex being the most female, and most hypertensive patients suffer from stage 2 hypertension. The most widely used single antihypertensive drug is amlodipine with a percentage of 50%, the most combined antihypertensive drug is a combination of amlodipine and candesartan at 58.06%. The conclusion of this study is that the most widely prescribed antihypertensive drug as a single antihypertensive is amlodipine and as a combination antihypertensive drug, namely amlodipine and candesartan
Gambaran Tingkat Kepatuhan Berobat Antiretroviral Pada Pasien HIV/AIDS
Antiretroviral use can reduce the amount of virus in the body and increase the CD4 cell count in people infected with HIV. The success of HIV treatment can be achieved by increasing adherence to taking antiretroviral drugs. The aim of this study was to describe the level of adherence of HIV/AIDS patients undergoing antiretroviral treatment at dr. Agoesdjam Ketapang. The research method used is descriptive research with cross sectional design. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique with a sample of 45 respondents. Research data were collected through the administration of the Morisky 8-Item Medication Adherence Questionnaire (MMAS-8) questionnaire to HIV/AIDS patients in RSUD dr. Agoesdjam Ketapang. The results showed that the characteristics of HIV/AIDS patients undergoing antiretroviral treatment at VCT Bougenville RSUD dr. Agoesdjam Ketapang is dominated by male patients (78%), patients aged 25-49 years (76%), patients with male HIV transmission factors (38%), patients with high school education (40%), patients who work as private employees (40%), and the majority of HIV/AIDS patients receive artivla therapy (78%). HIV/AIDS patients undergoing antiretroviral treatment at dr. Agoesdjam Ketapang had a high level of treatment adherence (38%), moderate adherence (33%), and low adherence (29%). The conclusion of this study is the level of adherence to treatment of HIV/AIDS patients in RSUD dr. Agoesdjam Ketapang according to high compliance
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
Pola Penggunaan Obat Diare Akut Pada Balita di Rumah Sakit
The prevalence of diarrhea in Indonesia based on the diagnosis of health workers reached 6.8% in 2018. Generally attacks toddlers under the age of 5 years because the toddler's immune system is still in the weak category, making them more susceptible to exposure to bacteria that cause diarrhea. The most cases of diarrhea in Indonesia are cases of acute diarrhea. This study aims to determine the pattern of use of acute diarrhea medication in toddlers at Sultan Syarif Mohamad Alkadrie Hospital Pontianak in 2020. This study used a descriptive observational method with a cross-sectional research design. Retrospective data collection using purposive sampling method. The results showed that the characteristics of patients by gender who suffered the most from acute diarrhea were women (55%), the most age group was 0-1 year (30%), the type of diarrhea that most suffered was acute diarrhea without dehydration (51, 25%) and the most felt clinical symptoms were liquid defecation and fever (44.20% and 20.99%). The most widely prescribed drug to treat acute watery diarrhea was zinc (27.97%). The conclusion in this study is that the most widely prescribed drug to treat acute diarrheal disease in toddlers is zinc
