Fertility Evaluation of Coral Reef Ecosystems Using Bioindicators of Phytoplankton in Watu Lawang Waters, Pasir Putih Beach, Situbondo - Indonesia
The level of waters fertility is closely relate to the abundance and composition of plankton. Phytoplankton is a biological parameter that can be used as an indicator of the fertility of a waters. The purpose of this study was to determined the community structure of phytoplankton and the level of fertility in the waters of Pasir Putih beach, Situbondo. The study was conducted at five stasions in Watu Lawang waters, Pasir Putih Beach, Situbondo. The Sampling used purposive sampling method. Seawater samples were filtered on the surface of each station using plankton net number 25. Then, water samples were identified in the Microbiology Laboratory of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The results of identification of phytoplankton in the waters of Watu Lawang, Pasir Putih Beach, Situbondo obtained 4 classes that consisted of Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Chlorophyceae, and Dinophyceae family. The phytoplankton composition found during the study was dominated by the Bacillariophyceae class. The genus Bacteriastrum sp and Chaetoceros sp were found in all observation stations. The highest phytoplankton abundance was at station IV with an abundance of 1670 cells L-1. And the lowest abundance of phytoplankton was at station I with an abundance value of 730 cells L-1. The diversity of phytoplankton was categorized in the low diversity level (H’<2.3). The Uniformity index value was classified as unstable (0 <E <0.5). On the other hand, The average value of the Saprobic Index in the waters of Watu Lawang, Pasir Putih, Situbondo was 1.6 which was classified as the Oligosaprobic phase (very slight polluted)
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
MODEL KARAKTERISTIK LAPISAN BAWAH PERMUKAAN TANAH PULAU LUSI SIDOARJO JAWA TIMUR MENGGUNAKAN METODE GEOLISTRIK UNTUK MENDUKUNG WISATA BAHARI
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi tentang model bawah permukaan tanah (subsurface) dibangun berdasarkan nilai resistivitas lapisan tanah Pulau Lusi di Kabupaten Sidoarjo Provinsi Jawa Timur untuk mendukung wisata bahari dalam pembangunan infrastruktur bagunan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Geolistrik Konfigurasi Schlumberger sebanyak 5 titik VES (vertical electrical sounding) dengan kedalaman penetrasi 50 m dari permukaan tanah. Selanjutnya, model geolistrik 2D dibuat berdasarkan hasil titik VES tersebut sebanyak 2 lintasan yang saling bersilangan dengan orientasi Utara-Selatan, dan Barat-Timur. Hasil model geolistrik 2D yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa secara umum di Pulau Lusi terdapat empat lapisan yang terdiri dari lapisan atas (topsoil), lapisan aluvial, lapisan akuifer dan lapisan batuan keras (bedrock). Lintasan Utara – Selatan dengan panjang lintasan sejauh 60 m mempunyai lapisan bedrock dengan nilai resistivitas 200-300 Ωm terdapat pada kedalaman antara 30 m sampai sekitar 45 m dari permukaan tanah. Lintasan Barat – Timur dengan panjang lintasan sejauh 120 m mempunyai lapisan bedrock dengan nilai resistivitas 200-500 Ωm terdapat pada kedalaman antara 7 m sampai sekitar 45 m dari permukaan tanah. Berdasarkan hasil model geolistrik 2D ini, dapat direkomendasikan bahwa sebaiknya bangunan yang akan didirikan di Pulau Lusi adalah bangunan yang terbuat dari kayu dengan memperhatikan estetika dibandingkan jika didirikan bangunan yang terbuat dari beton dan bertingkat. Hal ini dikarenakan lapisan bedrock di Pulau Lusi berada pada kedalaman 15 – 45 meter dari permukaan tanah yang dinilai terlalu mahal jika akan dibangun bangunan yang terbuat dari beton dan bertingkat mengingat pondasi bangunan harus mencapai bedrock yang relatif dalam.
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
Rona Awal Lingkungan Perairan Muara Satui untuk Kesesuaian Area Pelabuhan (Studi Kasus Pengembangan Kawasan Pelabuhan)
Rencana pengembangan suatu kawasan estuari untuk pelabuhan perlu memperhitungkan kondisi awal lingkungan karena daerah pelabuhan sangat rentan terhadap cemaran lingkungan akibat beragam aktivitas yang dilakukan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas lingkungan perairan Muara Satui, Tanah Bumbu, Kalimantan Selatan yang potensial untuk dikembangkan sebagai kawasan kegiatan pelabuhan terpadu. Kualitas fisika, kimia dan biologi air hasil pengamatan dibandingkan dengan standar baku mutu air laut yang ditetapkan oleh Kementrian Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia. Selanjutnya, hasil pengamatan dianalisa lebih lanjut dengan Indeks Kualitas Air (IKA) untuk mengetahui gambaran umum kualitas perairan. Hasil analisa menunjukkan perairan muara Satui mempunyai kualitas perairan yang sangat bagus dengan parameter fisika (seperti salinitas 14 ppt, suhu 28°C), kimia (seperti DO 4,9 mg/l, dan BOD 5,41 mg/l), dan biologi (yaitu plankton dengan Indeks Dominansi Simpson 0,20-0,27) masih dalam kisaran standar baku mutu air laut untuk pelabuhan. Dari nilai IKA dengan kisaran 0,001 sampai 6,5 untuk berbagai parameter yang dianalisa, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perairan masih dalam kondisi yang sangat bagus. Hal tersebut mengindikasikan perairan tersebut layak untuk dijadikan kawasan pengembangan pelabuhan
