The class of simple dynamics systems

    No full text
[EN] In this paper, we study the class of simple dynamical systems on R induced by continuous maps having finitely many non-ordinary points. We characterize this class using labeled digraphs and dynamically independent sets. In fact, we classify dynamical systems up to their number of non-ordinary points. In particular, we discuss about the class of continuous maps having unique non-ordinary point, and the class of continuous maps having exactly two non-ordinary points. The author is very thankful to the referee for giving valuable suggestions. Carbon Dots for Photocatalytic Degradation of Aqueous Pollutants: Recent Advancements

    No full text
The immense progress of humanity on the technological, domestic, and industrial fronts comes at the cost of polluting the planet. Aquatic pollution is particularly dangerous since all life forms are directly linked to it. Each year tons of industrial and domestic pollutants make their way into aqueous systems. Efficient removal/degradation of these pollutants is of prime importance for the sustainable future. Among many technologies, photodegradation is an emerging and promising method for the successful removal of aqueous pollutants since it is powered by abundant solar light. The last decade had shown that carbon dots are among the most promising materials that can be utilized as an efficient tool to derive various solar-driven chemical reactions. Carbon dots possess unique photophysical and chemical properties such as light-harvesting over a broad-spectrum region, upconversion photoluminescence, photosensitizers, chemical inertness, and bivalent redox character, etc. The ease of synthesis of carbon dots at low cost also contributes hugely to their utilizations as an efficient photocatalyst for the degradation of aqueous pollutants. This review summarizes the recent progress made in the field of photodegradation of aqueous pollutants with the aid of carbon dots and their hybrids, highlighting the critical role carbon dots can play in the field

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    No full text
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Klasifikasi Mutu Mutiara Berdasarkan Bentuk, Ukuran Dan Cacat Menggunakan K-Nearest Neighbor (K-Nn)

A simple method for estimating the effectiveness of reactive power‐based low‐voltage ride‐through support of the distributed energy resources

    No full text
Abstract The increasing number of distributed energy resources (DERs) leads to the need for DER that can provide ancillary service, such as low‐voltage ride‐through (LVRT) voltage support. The support is made to improve the short‐term voltage stability in power systems. Recently, DER LVRT voltage support through reactive power regulation are becoming common. Designing LVRT voltage support is highly influenced by the accuracy of the modelling and the data needed. However, in some cases, the required modelling can challenge the computational complexity, effort, and required data. Nevertheless, modelling the systems through an oversimplification may result in inaccuracies and hypothetical solution. Thus, the best compromise between model accuracy and simplicity will alleviate the problem. The study presents a methodology for estimating the effectiveness of the support. Unlike the commonly computer‐assisted approach, such as the dynamic RMS simulation, the benefit of the methodology is on the computing process, which is much simpler since the dynamic DER modelling work is not needed, and the evaluation of the effectiveness can be achieved even when the grid information is incomplete. Its accuracy is validated against typical RMS simulation results obtained using PowerFactory DIgsilent software for well‐characterised networks

Intelligence based coordination of large scale grid-connected photovoltaic systems

This paper explores the possibility of optimizing two control strategies currently available for photovoltaic (PV) plants, namely additional reactive power and active power reduction. As the penetration of PV plants is expected to increase, controlling such plants during faults becomes increasingly important. The stability of the power system during a fault and immediately after is affected by the system capability to control the reactive and active power flows. Motivated by the fact that curtailing active and injecting reactive power during faults impacts on the system behavior, the two available controllers are tuned and optimized in such a way that the system stability during the disturbance is secured with the help of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. The optimization process uses the locally measured voltage and frequency at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC) of the PV. The study takes into account various circumstances, such as levels of PV penetration and faults.</p
