    Theoretical Analysis of Gap Coupled Microstrip Patch Antenna

    When a patch is placed close to the fed patch, get excited due to parasitic coupling between the two elements. This proposed work presents theoretical analysis of rectangular gap coupled microstrip patch antenna (R-GCMSA) using circuit concept model, and the effect of gap(g), feed width (Wf), and feed length  on performance of the impedance bandwidth is also studied, it is observe as the gap between the parasitic element is increased resonant frequency shifted towards the parasitic patch resonant frequency for broadening the impedance bandwidth. The maximum impedance bandwidth for the proposed antenna design is 12.7% in the frequency range of 3.24-3.7GHz measured, with rectangular shape ground plane size 6030m.m2.the highest directivity achieved is 4dBi.The proposed design is simple in structure and compact in size, proposed design is simulated on IE3D Microwave simulator, the simulated result is in good agreement with  obtained  theoretical and measured results

    Improved Algorithms and Combinatorial Bounds for Independent Feedback Vertex Set

    In this paper we study the "independent" version of the classic Feedback Vertex Set problem in the realm of parameterized algorithms and moderately exponential time algorithms. More precisely, we study the Independent Feedback Vertex Set problem, where we are given an undirected graph G on n vertices and a positive integer k, and the objective is to check if there is an independent feedback vertex set of size at most k. A set S subseteq V(G) is called an independent feedback vertex set (ifvs) if S is an independent set and G\S is a forest. In this paper we design two deterministic exact algorithms for Independent Feedback Vertex Set with running times O*(4.1481^k) and O*(1.5981^n). In fact, the algorithm with O*(1.5981^n) running time finds the smallest sized ifvs, if an ifvs exists. Both the algorithms are based on interesting measures and improve the best known algorithms for the problem in their respective domains. In particular, the algorithm with running time O*(4.1481^k) is an improvement over the previous algorithm that ran in time O*(5^k). On the other hand, the algorithm with running time O*(1.5981^n) is the first moderately exponential time algorithm that improves over the naive algorithm that enumerates all the subsets of V(G). Additionally, we show that the number of minimal ifvses in any graph on n vertices is upper bounded by 1.7485^n

    Model data and post-processed data supporting the creation of the manuscript "Estimating the Meridional Extent of Adiabatic Mixing in the Stratosphere using Age-of-Air" submitted to JGR:Atmospheres in August 2022. 1) The netCDF files created through post-processing of full model data in FORTRAN are shared in the /data/ directory. These file contains the zonal mean circulation statistics based on Gupta et al. (2020), age-of-air transport diagnostics based on Linz et al. (2021), and the novel \Gamma-\Theta circulation streamfunction introduced in this study. The /data/ directory also contains MATLAB .mat data files for the transport diagnostics obtained from WACCM. 150 days of actual GFDL-FV3 model data in the northern hemisphere, between 0.1 hPa-500 hPa pressure levels is also provided to support external computations and validation. 2) The Jupyter notebook used for final computation and figures production is provided in .ipynb, .html and .pdf formats in /code/.     Confirming the Minimal Important Difference of the Oral Health Impact Profile

Advisor: Mike John. 1 computer file (PDF); vi, 32 pages.Aim: This study aimed to confirm the Minimal Important Difference (MID) of Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP) in dental patients. Materials and Methods: In this observational study a consecutive sample of 1896 adult patients completed the OHIP questionnaires twice, one questionnaire before the treatment was performed and a second at follow-up about 6 months after the initial visit. At both visits, scores for the 49-item, the 14-item, and the 5-item version were calculated. In addition, at follow-up, the patients (N=199) rated the overall change in their perceived oral health using a 7-point global scale (oral health worsened very much to improved very much). For the N=36 patients reporting a “minimal improvement”, the median of OHIP change scores (OHIP baseline – OHIP follow up) and a confidence interval was computed. This value was considered the Minimal Important Difference (MID) for OHIP. It was computed for OHIP-49, OHIP-14, and OHIP-5. MIDs were also computed for females versus males, less than 60 years old patients versus 60 and older patients, and patients with lower versus higher OHRQoL impairment at baseline (split at the OHIP49 score median at baseline). Results: The MID for the 49-item OHIP was 4.5 points (95% confidence interval: -3.8 to 11.3). The same values were -1 (95% CI: -1.0 to 2.0) and 0 (95% CI: 0.0 to 2.0) for OHIP-14 and OHIP-5. We did not find a gender or age influence on OHIP-49, 14, and 5’ MID, but demonstrated an influence of the magnitude of baseline OHRQoL impairment on OHIP-5. Conclusion: The results in our study corroborate the findings in the previous research about the Minimal Important Difference of OHIP instruments. OHIP’s MID seems to be similar across settings. However, we also found an influence of the magnitude of the OHRQoL impairment, indicating that MID is not one value that can be applied across settings. Our OHIP’s MID values can be used as benchmarks to judge the clinical relevance of the changes in perceived oral health when measured with OHIP.GUPTA, AKANKSHA. (2016). Akash Gupta is first author on ‘A novel and cost-effective ex vivo orthotopic model for the study of human breast cancer in mouse mammary gland organ culture’, published in BiO. Akash conducted the research described in this article while a PhD Scholar in Rajendra Mehta's lab at IIT Research Institute, Chicago, USA. He is now an assistant research scientist in the lab of Syreeta L. Tilghman at the University of Arizona, Department of Medicine, Tucson, USA, investigating drug efficacy modeling using human organoids culture for the treatment of cancers
