CirFix: Automatically Repairing Defects in Hardware Design Code (Artifact)

    No full text
This submission includes an artifact for CirFix, a framework for automatically repairing defects in hardware designs implemented in languages like Verilog. We also present a benchmark suite of 32 defect scenarios corresponding to a variety of hardware projects. Overall, CirFix produces plausible repairs for 21/32 and correct repairs for 16/32 of the defect scenarios. This repair rate is comparable to that of successful program repair approaches for software, indicating CirFix is effective at bringing over the benefits of automated program repair to the hardware domain for the first time. The buildings’ sector consumes about 15% of the total energy consumption in Malaysia. Of the biggest contributors to this figure are hospitals, which usually use energy above average due to their operation hours, occupants, and complex services. A survey study was conducted during various energy management system audits to Malaysian hospitals where important data for energy, load apportioning, and significant energy users are collected and comparatively analyzed. The data spans the period of three years from 2015 up till 2017 and the hospitals are categorized by their number of resident specialties and subspecialties. From the study, it was estimated that in 2015, district hospitals consume in average 2,237,776 kWh having a BEI of 148.92 kWh/m2.year; minor specialist hospitals consume in average 6,155,092 kWh having a BEI of 216.62 kWh/m2.year; major specialist hospitals consume in average 17,848,413 kWh having a BEI of 241.89 kWh/m2.year; general hospitals consume in average 28,224,856 kWh having a BEI of 240.96 kWh/m2.year. The load apportioning for 5 different hospitals were also analyzed and it was found that HVAC contributes to about 69% of the total load in hospitals. The study also found in 2016 that, the impacts of El Niño Southern Oscillation event to hospitals’ energy consumption increased the energy consumption up to 13.6% depending on the types of hospitals. The study concluded with ways that could improve energy performance in hospitals from various angles that include technical, management and system improvement

PERIWAYAT MUDALLIS DALAM KITAB SHAHIH BUKHARI (Analisis Riwayat Hammad bin Usamah bin Zaid)

Effect of polyethylene glycol (PEG) length on the fluorescence intensity of carbon dots / Muhamad Azwan Hammad Ahmad

Carbon dots (CD) are luminescent nanoparticles that can be used to track biological processes inside cells. They are less toxic than similar alternatives, making them more suitable for use in live biological systems, but the light-emitting properties of those currently made are not ideal. CD is one of the recent substance that are being used as a tools for bio-imaging probes. Fluorescent CD-based imaging probes have becoming a new medical diagnostic tools due to its advance labelling technology. One of its characteristics is superior brightness and photo stability. Besides that, the usage of carbon nanoparticles is safe as it is non-toxic which is suitable for biological staining and diagnostics. In this research, the factors affecting fluorescence intensity of CD was investigated by treating the CD by via surface passivation method. The objective of this study is to find an optimum amount of surface passivating agent i.e. polyethylene glycol (PEG) required to produce maximum fluorescence spectra. It has been concluded that as the length of PEG used in the passivation method increases, the fluorescence intensity of CD was enhanced

Breaking Dichotomies: Counter-Narratives in the Spoken Word Poetry of Suheir Hammad

    No full text
This article analyzes the spoken word poetry of the Palestinian-American author, Suheir Hammad, who attempts to deconstruct dichotomies between Arabs and Americans and to create a concept of transnational humanness. Through cultural criticism, Hammad reverses the process of Othering when she humanizes Palestinians and detaches suffering from national belonging. Her creative resistance represents a renegotiation of Americaness and its relation to Islam and Arabs, and opens up de-nationalized spaces of comparison

A Dissertation submitted to the Faculty of Law University of Pretoria, in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree Masters of Law (LLM in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa). Prepared under the supervision of Dr. Salah Hammad, Faculty of Law, Addis Ababa University, AddisThesis (LLM (Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa))--University of Pretoria, 2009.The author argues that maternal mortality can easily be avoided and that the right to health and life is as much a developmental issue as it is one of human rights. Focuses on the maternal mortality ratio and relevant laws protecting women’s right to life and health in Nigeria and Ethiopia.http://www.chr.up.ac.za/Centre for Human RightsLL
