Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Pemerkasaan wanita menurut perspektif hadis: Satu sorotan literatur: [Women\u27s empowerment in hadith’s perspective: a literature review]
Full text linkIslam is a religion that encompasses all aspects of life. Islam has also given its followers all the guidance to manage life including in relation to women\u27s empowerment. Although today the West is considered the champion of women\u27s empowerment, the fact is that Islam first pioneered it. Since the beginning of his mission, women\u27s empowerment has been one of the agenda of the Prophet\u27s PBUH preaching. However, the implementation of women\u27s empowerment by the West is more highlighted than what was implemented by the Prophet PBUH. Therefore, this paper reviews the literature related to women\u27s empowerment according to the hadith perspective. This study applies qualitative methods through literature review to obtain research data, while data analysis is done through content analysis. The study found that previous studies have discussed several themes of women\u27s empowerment from a hadith perspective such as legislation, education, social services, careers and politics. However, there are still aspects of women\u27s empowerment according to the hadith perspective that have not been researched. Therefore, women\u27s empowerment according to the hadith perspective should be studied comprehensively to highlight the approach of women\u27s empowerment carried out by the Prophet SAW.
ABSTRAK
Islam merupakan agama yang syumul meliputi segala aspek kehidupan. Islam juga telah memberikan kepada umatnya segala panduan untuk menguruskan kehidupan termasuklah berkaitan dengan pemerkasaan wanita. Walaupun hari ini Barat dianggap sebagai juara kepada perjuangan pemerkasaan wanita, namun hakikatnya Islam terlebih dahulu telah mempeloporinya. Sejak awal pengutusannya, pemerkasaan wanita telah menjadi salah satu daripada agenda dakwah Rasulullah SAW. Akan tetapi, pelaksanaan pemerkasaan wanita oleh Barat lebih diketengahkan berbanding apa yang dilaksanakan oleh Rasulullah SAW. Oleh yang demikian, makalah ini melakukan soratan literatur berkaitan pemerkasaan wanita menurut perspektif hadis. Kajian ini mengaplikasikan metode kualitatif melalui kajian kepustakaan bagi mendapatkan data kajian, manakala analisis data dilakukan melalui analisis kandungan. Hasil kajian mendapati, kajian-kajian lepas telah membincangkan beberapa tema pemerkasaan wanita daripada perspektif hadis seperti perundangan, pendidikan, khidmat sosial, kerjaya dan politik. Namun, masih terdapat aspek-aspek pemerkasaan wanita menurut perspektif hadis yang belum diteliti. Oleh yang demikian, pemerkasaan wanita menurut perspektif hadis wajar diteliti bagi mengetengahkan pendekatan pemerkasaan wanita yang dilakukan oleh Rasulullah SA
Analisa Tematik Berkenaan Dengan Profesion Kaum Hawa Dalam Al-Kutub Al-Sittah: [Thematic Analysis Regarding The Professions Of Women’s In Al-Kutub Al-Sittah]
Full text linkPeranan kaum hawa sememangnya signifikan kepada kelestarian pembangunan negara. Namun, masih wujud sikap pesimis dan skepatikal sesetengah pihak terhadap kemampuan kaum hawa untuk terlibat dalam sektor-sektor penting di negara ini. Mereka berpendapat bahawa kaum hawa hanya sesuai berperanan untuk menguruskan rumah tangga dan mendidik anak-anak sahaja. Bahkan, kaum hawa yang hanya tinggal di rumah dianggap lebih Islamik berbanding mereka yang bekerjaya. Justeru, berdasarkan kajian hadith secara tematik, kajian ini dilakukan bagi mengetengahkan profesion-profesion yang pernah diceburi oleh kaum hawa ketika zaman Rasulullah SAW. Metode yang diaplikasikan adalah berdasarkan kajian kepustakaan dengan mengimplementasikan kajian hadith yang berkaitan. Pemilihan dan analisis hadith hanya dipilih daripada al-Kutub al-Sittah iaitu Saḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣāḥīḥ Muslim, Sunan Abū Dāwūd, Jāmi’ al-Tirmidhī, Sunan al-Nasa’ī dan Sunan Ibn Mājah. Hasil kajian mendapati, terdapat pelbagai profesion yang pernah diceburi para sahabat Rasulullah SAW dalam kalangan kaum hawa. Antaranya, pendidikan, asas tani, kesihatan dan keselamatan awam. Hakikat ini dapat ditinjau daripada 22 teks hadith yang terdapat dalam al-Kutub al-Sittah. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahawa sifat feminin dan lemah lembut pada kaum hawa bukan halangan untuk turut berkerjaya, selagi mana syariat Islam tidak dikebelakangkan.
Women’s role indeed significant to the sustainability of the country. However, there are still pessimistic and scaptical attitude from some parties about women’s ability to engage with important sectors in the country. They think that women are only suitable for managing the household and educating the children. In fact, women who stay at home are consider more Islamic than those who have a career. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify the diversity of women\u27s professions in the era of the Prophet SAW through a thematic analysis. Method applied is based on library research by implementing relevant hadis studies. Selection and analysis of hadis is only selected from al-Kutub al-Sittah that is iaitu Saḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣāḥīḥ Muslim, Sunan Abū Dāwud, Jāmi’ al-Tirmidhī, Sunan al-Nasa’ī and Sunan Ibn Mājah. Study found that, there are various career sectors have been ventured into by prophet’s campanion among women. For example education, agro-based, health and public safety. This fact can be observed through 22 hadis texts found in al-Kutub al-Sittah. This study concludes that femininity and gentleness of women are not an obstacle to having a career as long as it does not contradict with the limitations of Syarak

No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
