According to the findings of this study, Instagram users generally sympathize with rape victims, but are more likely to victim-blame when the victim is older than 18 and when the alleged rapist is a popular person or celebrity. The findings also show that social media have helped facilitate rape discourse in Nigeria, by providing a platform where survivors can share their story and create awareness about the problem of sexual abuse.

The Mediating Effect of Social Media Use on the Relationship between Personality Trait and Gambling behavior among University Students in Northern Cyprus
Objectives: This paper aims to investigate the relationship between personality traits, gambling behavior, and social media use.
Methods: A questionnaire comprised of the Five-Factor Model (Costa & McCrae, 1992), the Gambling Behavior Scale by Jeff and Gregory (2010) and the Social Networking Time Use Scale (Olufadi, 2015) was administered to 718 students in Northern Cyprus. Pearson’s correlation and multiple linear regression analysis were carried out to test if the five personality traits have a significant positive relationship with gambling behavior.
Results: Data analysis showed a significant positive relationship between social media use and gambling behavior. The study reported that while the relationship between three personality traits (extraversion, neuroticism, and openness to experience) and gambling behavior is partially mediated by social media use, the relationship between agreeableness as a personality trait and gambling behavior is not mediated by social media use. Finally, findings showed that the impact of conscientiousness on gambling behavior is influenced by the frequency and time spent on social media.
Conclusions: In light of the reported impact of personality traits on gambling behavior, further research should seek to find out what it is about social media that encourages gambling behavior, and what combination of factors is most likely to force social media users to part with money to play or gamble. Finally, different motivations for social media use can be tested as moderators in the relationship between personality traits and gambling behavior

This study interrogates the use of biblical names as charactonyms in selected plays of Wole Soyinka, the first Nobel laureate in Africa, with the aim of unearthing their morphological process and sociolinguistic imports in relation to the Holy Bible. The primary data from which extracts were made to illustrate the discussion were four drama texts: The Strong Breed (1963), The Road (1965), Death and the King’s Horseman (1975), King Baabu (2002)- all tragedies, by the same author. The theoretical frameworks adopted were Yule’s (1985) morphological taxonomy and Said’s (1978) postcolonialism. Ten names inundated with biblical elements were purposively selected across-the-board and analysed using the theoretical frameworks. Findings indicated that Soyinka inundated his works with analogy (60%) by deploying six names (Ifada, Sunma, Samson, Simon Pilkings, Olunde, Joseph) patterned after the Holy Bible to illustrate didactic lesson and messianic scapegoatism theme(s). Furthermore, the study revealed that the playwright deployed clipping (20%) through the names Maariya and Tikim, to indicate popular culture among African youth. Finally, the playwright uses biblical names in his works to blend his Christian and traditional background, and as a means of taking indirect swipe at the issue of African complex dispositions to the colonial encounter and its legacies. The work is a contribution to onomastic scholarship in relation to the Holy Bible and African-contact literary texts.
A peace journalism approach to understanding the role of the media in the land disputes in Kenya
Abstract. Kenya is generally recognized as one of the most conflict prone countries in Africa, at least amongst those with a stable form of government. Kenya in recent years have been plagued by violence in the form of communal, radical islamists violence, land disputes, ethnic violence, hate speech, amongst others. The government have tried different ways of combating and mitigating this violence that has become a recurring problem in the region, however the disputes and conflicts seems to go on abated. Scholars from all over the world have studied on the role of the media in conflict management and have arrived at different conclusions – some found out that media contributes significantly to violence and can even be the cause of violence while others say the mass media can be a tool to promote peace and peace co-existence. This therefore aims to find out the how the Kenyan press reports conflict. The aim is to find out whether or not they make use of peace journalism approach to reporting on conflict. The findings of this study shows that the Kenyan press is not contributing to peace and is in fact inciting violence judging by the choice of words used in the news stories.Keywords. The impacts of rock pulverization on soil quality and functional soil nematode and respiration properties of boreal lands converted from forest to agricultural use
Rock pulverization is recommended when converting boreal forests to agricultural land use to facilitate tillage operations. Resulting rock dust incorporation might alter physical, chemical, and biological properties of soils. We assessed soil nematode trophic group abundances and indices, basal and burst respiration, and phosphorus extractability after land use conversion (LUC) and recent pulverization (The presentation of the authors' names and (or) special characters in the title of the pdf file of the accepted manuscript may differ slightly from what is displayed on the item page.
