Ceramic Works in Sahip Ata Foundation Museum
No full textKonya Sahip Ata Social Complex is one of the most outstanding monuments that have reached today with both the architectural structure and the works it contains. We started our research with a general information about Sahip Ata Social Complex and Hankah section and continued with examination of ceramic works that are being exhibited in hankah section of the complex. The repairs, techniques and applied motives of the ceramics are mentioned. There are other artefacts in Hankah than ceramic artefacts however, only the ceramic artefacts have been dealt with in order to limit the matter and make examinations in detail. Ceramic artefacts that are believed to belong to the Seljuk period continue to be exhibited in the sahip ata hankah (foundation museum) section. Such studies must be given importance in order to examine and document the art of Turkish tiles and to make them accessible. For this reason, the ceramic artefacts exhibited at Sahip Ata Foundation Museum in Konya province have been identified as research subjects.

What Is a Family Foundation?
No full text· Family foundations are important institutions, making up a significant portion of the foundation universe and having both local and global impact. Yet we have no shared definition of this diverse and evolving category. Clarifying the definition will help challenge persistent misconceptions, get perspective on the diversity, and improve foundations’ understanding of their own family dimensions.
· This article surveys the different definitions of family foundation that are, and have been, used by key organizations in the field and by researchers. It also reviews examples of the variations and complicating factors that make answering the title question difficult.
· A single or simple definition of “family foundation” is infeasible and largely unhelpful to the field or to individual foundations. Instead, we offer a more inclusive definitional framework, using a list of “possible family dimensions of a foundation.” The list includes dimensions related to self-identification, the family’s influence and involvement, donor intent and legacy, and assets.
· Individual foundations can use this framework to reflect on their particular mix of family dimensions, to discuss what these dimensions mean to them, and to be more intentional in utilizing their family dimensions to achieve their mission

Evaluative Tools for Articulating and Monitoring Foundation Strategy
No full text· Research shows that while foundation leadership and staff value strategy and foundations largely perceive themselves as strategic, they often struggle to articulate, implement, and track strategy. The William Penn Foundation has developed a collection of tools to articulate and assess its progress toward strategic goals.
· Each tool employs a structured format to promote standardization; flexibility, though, is encouraged in the application of each tool to ensure that form does not dictate function. Each tool provides a template for organizing information that should be tweaked as needed.
· The speed and breadth of adoption of each tool varies and is often related to the ability to communicate and demonstrate the intended benefits. It is important to continue to refine each tool and incorporate it into grantmaking operations to increase its utility to program staff.
· A weakness of each tool is its labor-intensive nature, which makes it resource-intensive in terms of staff time and vulnerable to staff turnover – ultimately raising the question of sustainability

No full textGelenekli Türk sanat anlayışını dolayısıyla dokumaları Orta Asya'dan Anadolu'ya kadar gittikleri her yere götüren Türkler bu alanda dünyaya örnek olmuşlardır. Kültürel anlamda değerlendirildiğinde halı-kilim, geçmişle günümüz arasında köprü oluşturan, bir sanat/zenaat eseri olma özelliğini bünyesinde barındıran maddi kültür kimliğinin temsilcileridir. Kilimleri ve halıları ile de ünlü ve köklü geçmişi olan Karapınar'da geleneklere bağlı olarak üretilen ve pek tanınmayan dokumalar vardır. Yörede üretilen bu halı ve kilimlerin üretimi günümüzde neredeyse durmuştur. Sahip Ata Vakıf Müzesi Selçuklu dönemine has firuze, patlıcan moru, kobalt mavisi çinilerle süslüdür. Vakıflar Genel Müdürlüğü'ne bağlı olan ve ekserisi Konya merkez ve civarındaki cami ve mescitlerden getirilen tarihi eser niteliği kazanmış kimi teberrukat eşyalarından örnekler sergilenmektedir. Özellikle Karapınar ilçesine ait olan kirkitli düz ve düğümlü dokumaları dikkat çekmektedir. Müzede yer alan örnekler günümüze kadar hiçbir araştırmaya dahil edilmemiştir. Müzede yer alan Karapınar yöresine ait tamamen yün malzemeli kilim, cicim ve Türk düğümlü halı dokumaları örnekleridir.Turks who carried their Traditional Turkish Arts' weavings from Central Asia to Anatolia. It is depend on Directorate Geuetal of Foundations and teberrukat item are displayed historical monuments Konya araund. Also some art Works came from mosques and prayer centeis. Especially Karapınar area's rugs and carpets attract atteution. There is no search about these examples at the museum. Kilim, cicim (rugs) and carpets at the museum are made from wool totally and they are belonging to Karapınar region
