ethical and legal dilemma. Mrs. Laberge puts forward in splendid
fashion the problems involved, the urgency in solving them and the
need for prevention. The author also gives us some of the measures included
in the Ministry's plan of action, which basically has two main
themes: respecting basic human rights and striving for an international
solution, all the while adapting it to our own culture

No full textDieser Band ist aus der einfachen Feststellung der aggregativen Leistung, welche
die Studien über den Spinozismus besitzen, entstanden. In der Tat sind Rezeptionen
und Kritiken des Spinozismus ein Ariadnefaden, der sich ebenso durch
die historischen Epochen wie durch die verschiedenen Forschungsgebiete zieht
und somit eine Vielzahl von Gegensätzen überwindet. Es ist dieser vereinigende
Aspekt der es erlaubt, Forscher, deren Interesse in der modernen Philosophie, im
deutschen Idealismus, im historischen Materialismus und in der zeitgenössischen
französischen Philosophie, usw. liegt, zusammenzuführen. Aus diesem Grund haben
wir beschlossen, einen Workshop zu diesem Thema an der École Normale
Supérieure (rue d’Ulm) zu organisieren, der am 11. Februar 2013 stattfand. Der
Erfolg dieser Initiative und das Interesse, das die Zeitschrift Interpretationes an einem
Spinozismusband gezeigt hat, hat uns dazu veranlasst, einen call for papers zu
lancieren, der es uns heute erlaubt, einen Teil der Vorträge des Workshops sowie
neue Artikel aus verschiedenen Bereichen in dieser Ausgabe zu vereinen
Écrire la « parlure » canadienne-française: la langue oralisée dans l'oeuvre d'Albert Laberge
No full textThe work of Albert Laberge, an early 20th century French Canadian writer, has been the subject of numerous thematic studies. Considered as the first naturalist author in Quebec and as a representative of the “anti-terroir,” Laberge gained critics' attention with his dark sense of humor and cleverly laid out sordid stories. Despite the fact that critics recognize the value of Laberge's work, they feel uneasy about the way it is written. Laberge, like most of his contemporaries, introduces oralized language in his texts. However, as opposed to other writers of his time, he does not limit orality to dialogues; he also uses oralized language in the narrative voice of his texts, without using quotation marks or italics to signal the borrowing of terms from the popular register. This contact between normative and oralized languages was seen by critics as an indication that Laberge could not really master the language codes relevant to his profession and, as a result Laberge was identified as a minor author. The study of the introduction of oralized language in La Scouine and in Laberge's short stories indicates on the contrary that Laberge's stylistic work was constant and profound. The formal analysis of Laberge's writing shows that it works as a "récit oralisé," an oralized narrative (a concept developed by Jérôme Meizoz) and that it involves numerous hybrid constructions (a notion borrowed from Mikhail Bakhtin). This re-reading of Laberge's work from a formal and linguistic point of view places Laberge as one of the first Quebec writers of orality.L'oeuvre d'Albert Laberge, écrivain canadien-français de la première moitié du XXe siècle, a fait l'objet de nombreuses études sur le plan thématique. Considéré comme le premier auteur naturaliste du Québec et comme un représentant de l'anti-terroir, Laberge a retenu l'attention des critiques pour son humour noir et ses histoires sordides savamment mises en scène. Toutefois, bien que les critiques reconnaissent la valeur de l'oeuvre labergienne, ils ressentent un véritable malaise par rapport à la manière dont elle est écrite. Laberge, comme la plupart de ses contemporains, introduit une langue oralisée dans ses textes. Cependant, contrairement aux autres écrivains de son époque, il ne limite pas l'emploi de l'oralité aux dialogues; il utilise la langue oralisée dans la narration de ses textes, sans employer de guillemets ou d'italique pour marquer l'emprunt de termes de registres populaires. Cette mise en contact de la langue normative et de la langue oralisée a été vue par les critiques comme une faute de langue et, en conséquence, Laberge fut qualifié d'auteur mineur. Il sera dès lors perçu comme un écrivain ne sachant pas réellement maîtriser les codes langagiers propres à son métier. L'étude de l'introduction de la langue oralisée dans La Scouine et dans les nouvelles labergiennes indique au contraire que Laberge effectuait un travail stylistique constant et approfondi. L'analyse formelle de l'oeuvre permet de voir qu'elle fonctionne comme un récit oralisé (concept développé par Jérôme Meizoz) et qu'elle comporte de nombreuses constructions hybrides (notion empruntée à Mikhaïl Bakhtine). Cette relecture de l'oeuvre labergienne d'un point de vue formel et linguistique permet de situer Laberge comme l'un des premiers écrivains québécois de l'oralité

practitioner. We are pleased to publish the speech she gave in
Montréal on November 10, 1994, at a seminar organized by Les
Éditions Yvon Blais Inc. Mrs. Jobin-Laberge comments on the
recent Quebec Superior Court decision, by way of a Motion for a
Declaratory Judgment, in the Allstate of Canada v. Royal
lnsurance case. This is the first Quebec decision involving serial
damages over a long period of time and the determination of the
respective obligations of insurers, as primary and excess liability
underwriters. While this issue has generared a considerable flow
of American and European decisions, the "multiple trigger
theory" had until now been untouched in Quebec. The Court
studied the American decisions with caution and reserve in a
Canadian context. The primary policy in force for the one-year
period from December 31, 1979 to December 31, 1980 was
found to be the sole primary policy engaging the responsibility of
the insurer. Consequently, the applicable excess policy is the one
issued for the period from April 30, 1980 to April 30, 1981

They nourish, motivate and direct the very essence of the narrative while communicating a precise message: an emotion, an inner reflection or a want which could not be transmitted by other means (be it through the characters, the stage direction or the decor).The author explores the central hypothesis which suggests that the songs represent the voice of a silence: the silence of those characters suffering from a profound solitude and incommunicability. The first chapter examines the songs written by Marie Laberge while the second focusses on those borrowed from other sources. Through the use of Greimas' model, the study underlines the importance in the choice of the songs and in the strategic place they occupy within each play
