A COMPARATIVE TOPOGRAPHICAL AND HISTOLOGICAL STUDY OF HAIR AND HAIR FOLLICLES OF SHAMI GOAT AND BLACK GOATS IN THE MOSUL PROVINCE
This study was conducted to prepare a database about hair follicles of Shami goat skin and to compare itwith that of Black goat. To achieve this goal, a comparative topographic histological study of 10 areas ofShami goat skin and similar areas of the Black goat skin was performed. Samples of 10 male animals (5)Shami goats and (5) Black goats used in this study were clinically healthy, 1-2 years old . Hair follicles inmost studied areas were of the composite type of primary and secondary hair follicles in both animals exceptfor the ventral surface area of the tail where primary follicles were present only. The length of hair folliclesin Black goats of all studied areas was longer than that of Shami goats. However, the depth of hair folliclesin skin of Shami goats was significantly lower than that of Black goats, indicating that the angle of hairfollicles in Shami goats is greater than those of Black goats. The follicles in Black goats were larger thanthose of Shami goats, indicating that the Shami goats hair was softer than that of Black goats. Shami goatshair had softness more than that of Black goat' hair. This softness is attributed to the increases the ratio ofsecondary hair follicles to primary hair follicles in Shami goats in most studied areas compared with those inBlack goats. The follicular arrangement was studied in both species, however, the triangular arrangement ofthe follicles was predominant in both animals except for the ventral area of the tail, where the trio folliculararrangement appeared only in the Shami goats and did not appear in the Black goats where they spreaduniformly and not in groups
"Shami" A Public Life Narrator
The public life of people in most cases are among forgotten parts of the Persian literature; in other words, most of the poets because of their too much attention to the kings and their actions and behaviors, followed by their disconnection with the inferior class of the society, have rarely composed poems on the public life of the people. The constitutional revolution to a great extent shifted this balance in favor of the public. In this paper, the anthology of the Kurdish blind poet “Shami” - which deals with the poor class of the society and the issues relating to it from a linguistic and thematic perspective - has been investigated and on the basis of the issues that embody most in the anthology, the poems relating to the public life have been categorized into four groups: 1. Life appliances and equipment, 2.Number of people, 3. Speech and 4. Customs and etiquette. This investigation showed that Shami is a poet that understands the pains and woes of the people and tries through an eloquent language to express pains and sufferings of his own class in a poetic form, offering it to the public. Hence, he can be called a social poet as suc
Replication Data for: Connectivity, Clientelism and Public Provision
In many developing countries the rural poor often depend on patrons to act as brokers in order to get public provision from the government. The broker facilitates provision in return for securing peasants’ votes for politicians. Yet, low bargaining power of peasants allows patrons to appropriate public resources for themselves. I propose increasing peasants’ bargaining power by connecting them to markets outside their village. Making use of a natural experiment found in the construction of a motorway in Pakistan, I find public provision to be significantly higher in connected villages when compared to those isolated. Moreover, I find that the beneficial impact of connectivity is felt most strongly by the lower classes, who are most vulnerable to exploitation when isolated
