Articles published since 1990 in Interdisciplinary Journal of Psychology and Related Sciences and in the Bulletin of the Argentine Association of Behavioral Sciences serve as the basis for the review together with some ongoing investigations. No full textLa nascita e lo sviluppo del Museo Rimoldi, di cui, con la revisione del presente catalogo, si celebra il mezzo secolo di vita, si posero quale ideale continuazione di una storia di collezionismo italiano che affonda le radici nel primo dopoguerra. Giunti al cinquantenario, sulla base dell’intenso lavoro compiuto è stato quindi possibile offrire alle stampe una versione emendata del catalogo istituzionale del 2010 che contenesse innanzitutto l’intera collezione Rimoldi giunta attraverso la duplice donazione della vedova Braun, intesa quale fondo iniziale per la nascita del Museo a lui intitolato nella Ciasa de ra Regoles. Il presente volume costituisce perciò una tappa essenziale nel processo di valorizzazione del Museo, poiché le sue schede sintetiche offrono una precisa descrizione oggettuale delle opere con la revisione circa la tecnica, le misure, i timbri, le firme e altri dettagli essenziali

No full textL’Antropocene è l’era in cui la presenza dell’uomo sta lasciando le tracce più evidenti nei processi geologici. Il costante aumento dei rifiuti – visibili e invisibili – in ogni angolo del pianeta ne è, secondo gli scienziati, una delle cause principali. Questa situazione sta assumendo una dimensione così rilevante da aver portato gli studiosi a coniare il termine Wasteocene, ovvero «l’era dei rifiuti». La presenza e la pervasività dei rifiuti sembrano quasi rappresentare un universale del mondo contemporaneo, al punto tale da aver legittimato una serie di studi (teorici e pratici) che si sono interrogati sulle modalità di gestione e di concettualizzazione degli scarti in diverse parti del mondo. Definire il rifiuto è già di per sé una produzione di teoria e un atto classificatorio: rifiuto è ciò che ha subito un passaggio di stato e una perdita sia del valore d’uso sia del valore di scambio. Il volume analizza i rifiuti da un punto di vista etnografico e antropologico in diversi contesti dell’Africa contemporanea
The full detector simulation for the Atlas experiment: status and outlook
No full textThe simulation of the ATLAS detector is a major challenge, given the complexity of the detector and the demanding environment of the LHC. The apparatus, one of the biggest and most complex ever designed, requires a detailed, flexible and, if possible, fast simulation which is needed already today to deal with questions related to design optimization, to issues raised by staging scenarios, and of course to enable detailed physics studies to lay the basis for the first physics discoveries. Scalability and robustness stand out as the most critical issues that are to be faced in the implementation of such a simulation. In this paper we present the status of the present simulation and the adopted solutions in terms of speed optimization, centralization of services, framework facilities and persistency solutions. Emphasis is put on the global performance when the different detector components are collected together in a full and detailed simulation.
