Boundedness of Bergman projections on tube domains over light cones

    No full text
Let Γ be the future light cone in Rn, and Ω = Rn + iΓ be the associated tube domain. We prove that the weighted Bergman projection Pv pvf(z) = ∫Ω f(w)Q(z - w̄)-vQ(script T signmw)v-ndw is bounded on Lp(Ω, Qv-n(script T signmw)dw) for 1 + n-2/2(v-1) < p < 1 + 2(v-1)/n-2, where Q denotes the Lorentz quadratic form. This theorem extends previous results by Bekollé and Bonami [BB]. Our proof relies on the analysis of the projection Pv, on mixed norm spaces, which allows us to exploit the oscillation of the Bergman kernel using the Laplace-Fourier transform

Media and Mediation of Contemporary Art, 1960-1990

Curator Francesco Bonami has positioned "Italics: Italian Art Between Tradition and Revolution 1968-2008," as a sequel to "The Italian Metamorphosis," the survey of postwar Italian visual culture that Germano Celant presented at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York in 1995. The Guggenheim show had presented masters from Piero Manzoni to Mario Schifano to the principals of Arte Pov-era, and in a certain sense it was a history of the victors. "Italics," organized with the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago (where the exhibition will travel in the fall of 2009), takes into consideration so-called secondary figures as well as the big names

Bakalářská práce analyzuje marketingové komunikace společnosti Bonami. Společnost Bonami je českou společností prodávající nábytek a doplňky do domácnosti. Cílem práce je zjistit vnímání marketingových komunikací cílovými skupinami. Teoretická část se věnuje definici marketingu, marketingovým strategiím, marketingovému mixu a komerčním komunikacím. Praktická část je věnována představení společnost Bonami a její historii, vypracování SWOT analýzy, analýzou konkurence a analýzou stávajících forem marketingových a komerčních komunikací. Součástí je také vlastní terénní dotazníkové šetření, analýza vnímání marketingových komunikací společnosti a návrhy a doporučení do budoucna. The bachelor thesis analyses the marketing communications of the company Bonami. Bonami is a Czech company selling furniture and household accessories. The work aims to find out the perception of marketing communications by target groups. The theoretical part deals with the definition of marketing, marketing strategies, marketing mix and commercial communications. The practical part is devoted to the introduction of Bonami and its history, development of SWOT analysis, analysis of competition and analysis of existing forms of marketing and commercial communications. It also includes a questionnaire survey, an analysis of the perception of the company’s marketing communications and proposals and recommendations for the future

Characterizations of a limiting class B∞ of Békollé–Bonami weights

    No full text
We explore properties of the class of Békollé–Bonami weights B∞ introduced by the authors in a previous work. Although Békollé–Bonami weights are known to be ill-behaved because they do not satisfy a reverse Hölder property, we prove that when restricting to a class of weights that are “nearly constant on top halves”, one recovers some of the classical properties of Muckenhoupt weights. We also provide an application of this result to the study of the spectra of certain integral operators

Implementing Automatic Benders Decomposition in a Modern MIP Solver

    No full text
We describe the automatic Benders decomposition implemented in the commercial solver IBM CPLEX. We propose several improvements to the state-of-the-art along two lines: making a numerically robust method able to deal with the general case and improving the efficiency of the method on models amenable to decomposition. For the former, we deal with: unboundedness, failures in generating cuts and scaling of the artificial variable representing the objective. For the latter, we propose a new technique to handle so-called generalized bound constraints and we use different types of normalization conditions in the Cut Generating LPs. We present computational experiments aimed at assessing the importance of the various enhancements. In particular, on our test bed of models amenable to a decomposition, our implementation is approximately 5 times faster than CPLEX default branch-and-cut. A remarkable result is that, on the same test bed, default branch-and-cut is faster than a Benders decomposition that doesn’t implement our improvements

Learning a classification of mixed-integer quadratic programming problems

    No full text
Within state-of-the-art solvers such as IBM-CPLEX, the ability to solve both convex and nonconvex Mixed-Integer Quadratic Programming (MIQP) problems to proven optimality goes back few years, yet presents unclear aspects. We are interested in understanding whether for solving an MIQP it is favorable to linearize its quadratic part or not. Our approach exploits machine learning techniques to learn a classifier that predicts, for a given instance, the most suitable resolution method within CPLEX’s framework. We aim as well at gaining first methodological insights about the instances’ features leading this discrimination. We examine a new dataset and discuss different scenarios to integrate learning and optimization. By defining novel measures, we interpret and evaluate learning results from the optimization point of view

    Bloch functions and Bekolle-Bonami weights

    No full text
We study some analogues of well-known relationships between Muckenhoupt weights and BMO in the setting of Bekollé-Bonami weights. For Bekollé-Bonami weights of bounded hyperbolic oscillation, distance formulas of Garnett and Jones type in the context of BMO on the unit disc and hyperbolic Lipschitz functions are obtained. We provide a counterexample to a recent conjecture, which suggests a certain weight condition for characterizing the closure of bounded analytic functions in the Bloch space. Finally, we include some applications to the spectrum of Cesaró operators on the Bergman spaces
