No full textUsiamo i metodi di Bazzoni e Muñoz (Trans Am Math Soc 364:1007–1028, 2012) per ottenere una classificazione delle algebre minimali in dimensione 7, generate in grado 1, su un campo k di caratteristica char(k)≠2 , la cui filtrazione caratteristica ha lunghezza 2. In modo equivalente, classifichiamo algebre di Lie nilpotenti a 2 passi in dimensione 7. Tale classificazione recupera inoltre il tipo di omotopia reale delle 2-nilvarietà in dimensione 7.We use the methods of Bazzoni and Muñoz (Trans Am Math Soc 364:1007–1028, 2012) to give a classification of 7-dimensional minimal algebras, generated in degree 1, over any field k of characteristic char(k)≠2 , whose characteristic filtration has length 2. Equivalently, we classify 2-step nilpotent Lie algebras in dimension 7. This classification also recovers the real homotopy type of 7-dimensional 2-step nilmanifolds

The Hierarchy of Uniserial Modules Over A Valuation Domain
No full textThe class of uniserial modules (i.e. modules whose submodules form a chain under inclusion) is studied over a valuation domain R. The isomorphy classes of torsion uniserial R-modules form a monoid Unis R under the operation Tor. In this paper, certain submonoids of Unis R are investigated, which consist of nonfinitely annihilated uniserials; these include all the nonstandard uniserial modules. Some of the submonoids turn out to be Clifford semigroups (i.e. unions of groups). Several results give information about the structure of monoids and about their group constituents. The non-finitely annihilated uniserials are classified into six classes; this classification is slightly different from the one for non-standard uniserials due to Bazzoni-Salce
Reduction in time : kinaesthetic and traumatic experiences of the present in literary texts
No full textThe chapter explores the dimension of the living present as a form of temporal reduction, looking at its manifestation in literary texts. Bazzoni proposes here a focus on the living present as different from a still, eternal moment, and contrasts the experience of the living present with the reduction at play in trauma. Finally, the author discusses the affective, ethical, and political dimensions of the temporality of the living present as a site of subjectivation, which effects a counter-reduction of normative discourses
Triggering of anti-tumor activity through melanoma-specific transduction of a constitutively active Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) R1 chimeric receptor in the absence of TNFa.
No full textTumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a) has been intensively studied because of the specific toxicity of this cytokine toward cells that undergo malignant transformation. However, its proinflammatory and immunoregulatory properties always represented a drawback to the TNF-a administration in cancer therapy. In this study, we describe an adenovirus-based strategy in which the tumoricidal activity of TNF-a can be selectively triggered to eradicate tumors without administering TNF-a. This strategy might allow us to prevent TNF-a effects on normal tissues and, therefore, to bypass its systemic toxic effects. We inserted the constitutively active version of the Mr 55,000 TNF receptor, which was shown previously (F. Bazzoni et al., Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA, 92: 5376–5380, 1995) to be capable of killing cells upon expression in the absence of its ligand, into a replicationdeficient adenovirus, and under the control of a melanoma-specific promoter/ enhancer element. We show that, upon infection, the recombinant gene reaches high level of expression in melanoma cell lines and triggers apoptosis by activating the caspase cascade. Expression and function of this receptor is restricted to melanoma cell lines, because morphology, viability, and proliferation of other cell types exposed to the recombinant adenovirus infection are not affected. We show for the first time that a TNF-like apoptotic response can be triggered in the absence of TNF-a and can be selectively confined to specific cellular targets. Killing activity and tissue specificity of the recombinant TNF receptor adenovirus, together with the advantage of triggering a TNF-like antitumor activity in the absence of TNF-a itself, are ideal features for a vector that might be the choice for gene therapy aimed to eradicate malignant cells
Covering classes and 1-tilting cotorsion pairs over commutative rings
No full textWe are interested in characterising the commutative rings for which a 1-tilting cotorsion pair provides for covers, that is when the class A is a covering class. We use Hrbekšfs bijective correspondence between the 1-tilting cotorsion pairs over a commutative ring R and the faithful finitely generated Gabriel topologies on R. Moreover, we use results of Bazzoni-Positselski, in particular a generalisation of Matlis equivalence and their characterisation of covering classes for 1-tilting cotorsion pairs arising from flat injective ring epimorphisms. Explicitly, if is the Gabriel topology associated to the 1-tilting cotorsion pair, and R is the ring of quotients with respect to, we show that if A is covering, then G is a perfect localisation (in Stenstromšfs sense [B. Stenstrom, Rings of Quotients, Springer, New York, 1975]) and the localisation R has projective dimension at most one as an R-module. Moreover, we show that is covering if and only if both the localisation RG and the quotient rings R/J are perfect rings for every J ∈. Rings satisfying the latter two conditions are called G-almost perfect
Negotiating Authority Through Feminism: Girls’ Political Experience in Italian Social Movements
No full textIn this chapter we investigate the relationship between girls and feminism as a lens for interpreting gendered relations of power and authority that define political participation within social movements in Italy. Starting from our dual position as researchers and activists, we focus on semi-structured interviews with girls working in occupied and self-managed spaces, to understand which roads they follow to negotiate different forms of authority, and whether feminist reflections find space on those paths. By reconstructing the genealogy of the feminists’ thoughts-capable of challenging the modern conception of power, and therefore also that of authority-we aim at highlighting their echoes within the girls’ discourses and practices. In doing so, this chapter offers an understanding on how the girls’ gaze on the world can build new practices and new perceptions of the exercise of power and authority
Special Types of Locally Conformal Closed G<sub>2</sub>-Structures
No full textMotivated by known results in locally conformal symplectic geometry, we study different classes of G 2 -structures defined by a locally conformal closed 3-form. In particular, we provide a complete characterization of invariant exact locally conformal closed G 2 -structures on simply connected Lie groups, and we present examples of compact manifolds with different types of locally conformal closed G 2 -structures
