No full text[IT] Ci sono casi in cui, dinanzi ad un'opera, risulta immediato riconoscerne i tratti distintivi e ricondurla al relativo autore. Il più delle volte accade per un processo associativo messo in atto dalla mente di chi osserva, laddove vengono individuate le sembianze o, molto più semplicemente, l'espressione. Capita però anche di identificare un autore attraverso l'atteggiamento che la singola opera dichiara, un processo che risulta meglio comprensibile quando se ne osserva l'intero regesto personale nell'insieme, quasi fossimo di fronte ad una preziosa collezione di pezzi eterogenei da comporre con dovizia e pazienza. È un avvenimento che accade più raramente rispetto al lavoro più facile che si fa dinanzi all'attività degli “stilisti da tavolo da disegno” ma che è presente in quelle personalità “enciclopediche” che richiedono uno sguardo più attento, ai quali è necessario dedicare più tempo del solito.
Leopold Banchini è, prima di tutto, un autore. Nel suo caso è impossibile separare le sue costruzioni dalla personalità del proprio ideatore, a prescindere queste siano state in grande parte redatte attraverso collaborazioni.
[EN] There are cases in which, when confronted with a work, it is immediate to recognise its distinctive features and trace it back to its author. Most of the time it happens through an associative process set in motion by the mind of the observer, where the features or, much more simply, the expression are identified. It also happens, however, to identify an author through the attitude that the single work declares, a process that is better understood when one observes the entire personal record as a whole, as if one were in front of a precious collection of heterogeneous pieces to be put together with care and patience. This is something that happens more rarely than in the easier work of ‘drawing-board stylists’ but is present in those ‘encyclopaedic’ personalities that require a closer look, to which one must devote more time than usual. Leopold Banchini is, first and foremost, an author. In his case, it is impossible to separate his constructions from the personality of their creator, no matter how large a part of them were drafted through collaborations
A case report positive for synthetic cannabinoids: are cardiovascular effects related to their protracted use?
No full textThe use of synthetic cannabinoids is being increasingly recognised worldwide, but the chemical compositions and physiological effects of these drugs are poorly characterised and are continually changing. New substances are constantly being added to the content of synthetic cannabinoids and they are rarely identified on toxicological screening tests. Due to their structures synthetic cannabinoids and their effects have been compared to the psychoactive compound, Δ-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), found in marijuana. On the molecular level, they are potent cannabinoid receptor agonists that also may have affinity for other types of receptors such as those on platelets. Reported symptoms of toxicity include anxiety, agitation, paranoia, hallucinations, tachycardia, hypertension, excessive sweating, nausea, and vomiting. They can also be linked to serious adverse cardiovascular events and can affect the cardiovascular system causing hypotension and bradycardia, myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, prolonged QTc, and Mobitz type II atrioventricular block, as well as interfere with the aggregation of platelets. We present a case report of a cardiac tamponade with toxicological findings positive for synthetic cannabinoids. This case highlights the importance of testing routinely for novel psychoactive compounds, and recognising their potential to cause life-threatening conditions
