Orticoltura e benessere. Cinque anni di esperienze nell’Orto Botanico Villa Beuca di Cogoleto (GE)
Villa Beuca Municipal Botanic Gardens were inaugurated on june 2001. They are located on the Beuca Hill (Municipality of Cogoleto near to Genova) and are aimed to valorize and preserve the diversiy of the Ligurian flora, to develop didactic training in Botany, and to contribute to the therapy of patients with social and psychological troubles. In the recent five years these Botanic Gardens are managed by the little social co-operative society “Il giunco”. The collaboration of the Local Mental Autorithy with this Co-op and the partecipation of the patients to the life of the Botanic Gardens allow significant amelioration of the patient conditions. The natural appearance of the Villa Beuca Botanic Gardens and the social-psychological well-being of the patients grow together as a “landscape” of social and natural interactions
Improving the services provided by hostesses to passengers
Nowadays, the services provided by the hostess to the passengers require continuous improvement to keep up with new developments. The purpose of this thesis is to create an application which can help the hostess to make their job as easy as possible. The aim of this application is to ease the hostess work and to satisfy both parties during the flight.
In this thesis, a qualitative research methodology was used. This consist of an interview conducted via email to obtain feedback about the user-friendliness of the app for a hostess. Tiina Kumpulainen who has been working as a hostess for fifteen years was the person interviewed. She gave positive feedback, saying that this application is really good and useful. By using it, the passengers can order what they want, the order goes to the hostess’s tablet. Also, analysis of the answers shows that she appreciates how this app was developed because it has many beneficial features for a hostess and for a passenger.
In conclusion, the quality of service would improve due to the app. For example, the time required for serving is reduced and the time allocated to the passenger to check products and their price is increased. Based on the interview, it is recommended that this application be used on flights with duration of about three to five hours, for flights with a shorter or longer duration it is not recommended because there are other types of service already available
"THE FIRST LIKA STONEMASON’S WORKSHOP FOR CONSTRUCTION AND ART" AND THE WORK OF STJEPAN VUKELIĆ IN GOSPIĆ
ubrzan gospodarski razvoj i napredak.
At the beginning of the 20th century Gospić didn’t have a stonemason, or a sculptor or any kind of craftsman operations which would satisfy the demand of citizens for the constant necessity of tombstone monuments or the municipality for building public sculpture and
sculptural plastic. The main entrance to Gospić’s town Mary Magdalena cemetery contains graves from the second half of the 19th century, and they were, along with Neo-Gothic chapel of Mary Magdalena, erected in 1856 on the cemetery, testimony to some past days when Gospić experienced a rapid economic development and progress. The creator of many tombstone monuments in the cemetery was Stjepan Vukelić, who in 1900 in Gospić, along the cooperation of two more stonemasons Tomo Zorica and Josip Beuc, opened the “First Lika stonemason’s workshop for construction and art”. In the period from 1900 until the start of the First World War, Vukelić was the most represented stonemason in the Gospić region, and besides the
tombstone monuments attributed to him there is also the work on the pillar of Christ the Saviour in Kaniška Street in Gospić
GLI ASPETTI PRINCIPALI DEL DIRITTO DELLE OBBLIGAZIONI NELL'ISTRIA MEDIOEVALE
Od raznih aspektata
istarskog srednjovjekovnog obveznog prava, analiziranih u clanku, najvazniji su ovi:
l. Razni nacini perfektuiranja obveznog ugovora. Autor prije svega iznosi teorije
(npr.fidesfacta) i teorija postglosatora-komentatora.

Intraperitoneal drain placement and outcomes after elective colorectal surgery: International matched, prospective, cohort study
Background: Many surgeons routinely place intraperitoneal drains after elective colorectal surgery. However, enhanced recovery after surgery guidelines recommend against their routine use owing to a lack of clear clinical benefit. This study aimed to describe international variation in intraperitoneal drain placement and the safety of this practice. Methods: COMPASS (COMPlicAted intra-Abdominal collectionS after colorectal Surgery) was a prospective, international, cohort study which enrolled consecutive adults undergoing elective colorectal surgery (February to March 2020). The primary outcome was the rate of intraperitoneal drain placement. Secondary outcomes included: rate and time to diagnosis of postoperative intraperitoneal collections; rate of surgical site infections (SSIs); time to discharge; and 30-day major postoperative complications (Clavien Dindo grade at least III). After propensity score matching, multivariable logistic regression and Cox proportional hazards regression were used to estimate the independent association of the secondary outcomes with drain placement. Results: Overall, 1805 patients from 22 countries were included (798 women, 44.2 per cent; median age 67.0 years). The drain insertion rate was 51.9 per cent (937 patients). After matching, drains were not associated with reduced rates (odds ratio (OR) 1.33, 95 per cent c.i. 0.79 to 2.23; P=0.287) or earlier detection (hazard ratio (HR) 0.87, 0.33 to 2.31; P=0.780) of collections. Although not associated with worse major postoperative complications (OR 1.09, 0.68 to 1.75; P=0.709), drains were associated with delayed hospital discharge (HR 0.58, 0.52 to 0.66; P,0.001) and an increased risk of SSIs (OR 2.47, 1.50 to 4.05; P,0.001). Conclusion: Intraperitoneal drain placement after elective colorectal surgery is not associated with earlier detection of postoperative collections, but prolongs hospital stay and increases SSI risk

Safety and efficacy of intraperitoneal drain placement after emergency colorectal surgery: An international, prospective cohort study
Aim: Intraperitoneal drains are often placed during emergency colorectal surgery. However, there is a lack of evidence supporting their use. This study aimed to describe the efficacy and safety of intraperitoneal drain placement after emergency colorectal surgery. Method: COMPlicAted intra-abdominal collectionS after colorectal Surgery (COMPASS) is a prospective, international, cohort study into which consecutive adult patients undergoing emergency colorectal surgery were enrolled (from 3 February 2020 to 8 March 2020). The primary outcome was the rate of intraperitoneal drain placement. Secondary outcomes included rate and time-to-diagnosis of postoperative intraperitoneal collections, rate of surgical site infections (SSIs), time to discharge and 30-day major postoperative complications (Clavien–Dindo III–V). Multivariable logistic and Cox proportional hazards regressions were used to estimate the independent association of the outcomes with drain placement. Results: Some 725 patients (median age 68.0 years; 349 [48.1%] women) from 22 countries were included. The drain insertion rate was 53.7% (389 patients). Following multivariable adjustment, drains were not significantly associated with reduced rates (odds ratio [OR] = 1.56, 95% CI: 0.48–5.02, p = 0.457) or earlier detection (hazard ratio [HR] = 1.07, 95% CI: 0.61–1.90, p = 0.805) of collections. Drains were not significantly associated with worse major postoperative complications (OR = 1.26, 95% CI: 0.67–2.36, p = 0.478), delayed hospital discharge (HR = 1.11, 95% CI: 0.91–1.36, p = 0.303) or increased risk of SSIs (OR = 1.61, 95% CI: 0.87–2.99, p = 0.128). Conclusion: This is the first study investigating placement of intraperitoneal drains following emergency colorectal surgery. The safety and clinical benefit of drains remain uncertain. Equipoise exists for randomized trials to define the safety and efficacy of drains in emergency colorectal surgery
