Middle to Late Triassic (Ladinian to Carnian) palynology of shallow stratigraphic cores 7831/2-U-2 and 7831/2-U-1, offshore Kong Karls Land, Norwegian Arctic
During the Triassic, the Barents Shelf was situated on the northwestern corner of the Pangaea supercontinent as a large epicontinental seaway. Into early Late Triassic (Carnian), a major delta, prograding from the southeast towards the northwest, reached the Svalbard area. In 2005, the NPD drilled five shallow stratigraphic cores through Upper and Middle Triassic strata offshore Kong Karls Land, Svalbard. In the present study, the two oldest cores (7831/2-U-2 and 2-U-1) have been studied by applying palynology and palynofacies analyses. This contributes to the knowledge of the Triassic palynostratigraphy in the region and aids in the interpretation of the palaeoenvironment. The lowermost core 7831/2-U-2 comprises 13.3 meter of shale, correlated to the Botneheia Formation. The palynological samples from the oldest core yielded poorly preserved palynomorphs, dominantly bisaccate pollen, algae and acritarchs. The core is assigned to the late Ladinian age Echinitosporites iliacoides CAz based on the occurrence of the nominate taxon, confirming the preliminary interpretation of Vigran et al. (2014). The younger core (7831/2-U-1) spans 20.95 meter of the Tschermakfjellet Formation. Palynological analysis of the core reveals an upwards increase of spores, coupled with a decrease in bisaccate pollen and marine palynomorphs. Core 7831/2-U-1 is assigned to the early Carnian Aulisporites astigmosus CAz based on observations of A. astigmosus, again confirming the age assignment of Vigran et al (2014). These age interpretations are also consistent with published Re-Os dates (Xu et al., 2014), which place the Ladinian - Carnian (Middle - Late Triassic) boundary within the upper part of the core 7831/2-U-2, and constrain the overlying core 7831/2-U-1 to the earliest Carnian. The palynofacies analysis of this oldest core revealed a total dominance of amorphous organic matter (AOM), indicative of deposition in an anoxic environment. The palynofacies analysis of this youngest core revealed an increasing input of terrestrial organic matter. This is consistent with previous studies from the area, documenting the arrival of a prograding, early Carnian delta in the region. The study is part of a larger industry consortium under the FORCE umbrella, where the main aim is to further enhance the resolution of the Upper Triassic Series in the Norwegian Arctic region. The present study therefore provides an important input towards this overarching goal
DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS
Abstract: it is one of the two main political forces in the United States of America. It is currently the main opposition party to the government of President George W. Bush. Since 1874 its symbol is an ass, or donkey, (that of its rivals in the Republican Party is an elephant). The color blue is used to identify states that have a Democratic majority (as opposed to the red that identifies Republicans); and by extension it is the color of the party.

DEFINITION OF THE CONCEPT OF STUDY: DEMOCRACY
Abstract: This is research on democracies, their characteristics and types, and how they affect functioning, performance, and stability. Beyond discussions of which characteristics are closer to certain democratic ideals, the interest is focused on distinguishing and classifying types of democracies on the basis of institutional characteristics, collective actors and citizens and see their effect on effectiveness, functioning, achievements. and ultimately stability. The discussion of its quality and approach to certain ideals is also underlying, but it is less important.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT AS DETERMINANTS OF PUPILS' ACADEMIC ACHEIVEMENT: A CORRELATIONAL STUDY
Abstract: The study determined the parental involvement as determinants of pupils’ academic achievement of Dampil Elementary School: A Correlational study school year 2022 – 2023. Specifically, the study tried to: (1) established pupil – respondents’ characteristics in terms of Types of Family, Parents’ Participation in School Program; (2) establish the academic achievement of the pupil – respondents’ as indicated their Grade Point Average; (3) find out if there is a significant relationship between the academic achievement when grouped to according to the Types of Family and Parents’ Participation in School Program.
Statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean and Spearman - rho were used in the analysis of data.
Keywords: Teachers’ Burnout and Work Performance.

CURRENT APPROACHES AGAINST DENTAL CARIES- A REVIEW
Abstract: Dental caries is considered to be one of the most prevalent infectious disease in humans across all age groups because they affect 60-90% of the world’s population. With the introduction of refined sugar into the modern diet and an improved understanding of the pathogenesis of dental caries, the need for novel approaches to caries prevention has become is a key undertaking for addressing the caries burden in the 21st century. Here, we focus on current and prospective therapeutic approaches against dental caries, including chemical modalities such as fluoride and chlorhexidine, vaccines, antimicrobial peptides, replacement therapy, quorum sensing targets, nanoparticles and natural products. Further research is needed to develop a safe and efficacious approach against caries, or specifically Streptococcus Mutans, in humans.
Keywords: Dental caries, infectious disease, fluoride and chlorhexidine, vaccines, antimicrobial peptides.

Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
