    Yamato-74662 Meteorite: A Carbonaceous Chondrite Type II

    P(論文)Preliminary chemical analysis of Yamato-74662 meteorite suggests that this meteorite belongs to carbonaceous chondrite Type II. No other meteorites of this type have been found among Antarctic meteorites which run to about one thousand. Yamato-74662 meteorite was collected from the surface of bare ice in the Meteorite Ice Field near southern Yamato Mountains, Antarctica on December 30,1974. The bulk chemical composition of Yamato-74662 meteorite in weight % is as follows : 29.18% SiO_2,0.22% TiO_2,2.38% (Al)_2O_3,22.53% FeO, 7.38% FeS, 0.22% MnO, 19.29% MgO, 1.70% CaO, 0.28% (Na)_2O_2,0.04% K_2O, 1.56% H_2O(-), 13.26% H_2O(+), 0.23% P_2O_5,0.85% NiO, 0.52% (Cr)_2O_3,(0.05)_9% Co.departmental bulletin pape

    P(論文)The organic components of two Antarctic carbonaceous chondrites, Y-74662 (C2) and ALH-77307 (C3), have been investigated by pyrolysis using a Curie point pyrolyzer equipped with GC or GC-MS.     High resolution electron microscopic characterization of phyllosilicates and finding of a new type with 11Å structure in Yamato-74662

    P(論文)Matrix materials in Yamato-74662 have been examined by HREM and AEM. Under microscopic observations, phyllosilicates in Yamato-74662 were found; i) as matrix materials, ii) in irregular cavities, and iii) replacing pyroxene and olivine grains. Five types of phyllosilicates in the matrix were observed by HREM; a) 7Å platy phyllosilicate, b) 7Å poorly organized tubular phyllosilicate, c) 17Å platy phyllosilicate, d) poorly organized 7Å layer structures with interlayering of 5Å layer structure and e) 11Å platy phyllosilicate. Parallel intergrowth of the 11Å mineral and 7Å berthierine, and characteristic HREM suggest that the 11Å mineral is a new phyllosilicate with an interstratified structure of serpentine-like and brucite-like layers. Mineralogy and texture of the matrix suggest that the phyllosilicates were derived by alteration from such precursor materials as CV chondrites, and experienced some mixing or brecciation process after (or during) alteration.departmental bulletin pape

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Preferred orientation of phyllosilicates in Yamato-74642 and -74662, in relation to deformation of C2 chondrites

    P(論文)The preferred orientation of phyllosilicates in two Yamato chondrites (C2) has been examined by means of X-ray pole figure goniometry. Both C2 chondrites show almost the same textural features under the optical microscope as those of Murchison (C2) studied previously. In Yamato-74642,however, X-ray diffraction intensity of phyllosilicates is extremely weak and no information on the oriented texture could be obtained. Hydrous minerals in Yamato-74642 have probably been altered by some thermal event. Yamato-74662 possesses a weak but clear preferred orientation of phyllosilicates, indicating evidence of anisotropic deformation.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Alteration of chondrules and matrices in the four Antarctic carbonaceous chondrites ALH-77307 (C3), Y-790123 (C2), Y-75293 (C2), and Y-74662 (C2)

    P(論文)Alteration products of the groundmasses in chondrules of the C chondrites ALH-77307,Y-790123,Y-75293,and Y-74662 consist mainly of chlorite (and/or berthierine) containing high Al_2O_3 contents, and those of the matrices are mainly serpentine with minor amounts of Al_2O_3 contents. This difference reflects that of their precursor materials prior to the alteration. The degrees of chondrule alteration are various within a chondrite and among the four chondrites studied, and are classified into four stages (I, II, III, and IV ranging from weak to intense alteration) according to petrographic criteria. Most chondrules in ALH-77307 are stage II, and those in Y-74662 are stage III. Y-790123 and Y-75293 include the chondrules of stages II and III. The alteration of chondrules and matrices took place prior to the final agglomeration of these chondrites.departmental bulletin pape
