Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
No full textWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dihydroanatoxin‑a Is Biosynthesized from Proline in <i>Cylindrospermum stagnale</i> PCC 7417: Isotopic Incorporation Experiments and Mass Spectrometry Analysis

have been developed to detect the cis- and trans-epimers (relative configuration of the carbon bearing
the acetyl or propionyl group) of dihydroanatoxin-a and dihydrohomoanatoxin-a,
in biological samples. These compounds epimerize under acidic conditions,
yielding a major species that was tentatively assigned as the cis-epimer. Cylindrospermum stagnale PCC
7417 was definitively shown to produce dihydroanatoxin-a (1.2 mg/g
dried cells). Oscillatoria sp. PCC 9107, Oscillatoria sp. PCC 6506, and C. stagnale PCC 7417, which produce anatoxin-a, homoanatoxin-a,
and dihydroanatoxin-a, respectively, were cultivated in the presence
of isotopically labeled proline, and the toxins were extracted. Interpretation
of the GC-MS electron ionization mass spectra of these labeled anatoxins
showed that they are all biosynthesized from proline and that the
positions of the labels in these molecules are identical. These data
and the fact that the ana cluster of genes is conserved
in these cyanobacteria suggest that dihydroanatoxin-a is formed by
the reduction of either anatoxin-a or its precursor in a specific
step involving AnaK, an F420-dependent oxido-reductase
whose gene is found in the ana gene cluster in C. stagnale PCC 7417. This is the first report of a cyanobacterium
producing dihydroanatoxin-a, suggesting that other producers are present
in the environment
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
Pengesahan Hibah secara lisan berdasarkan penetapan Pengadilan Agama Cimahi Nomor: 7417/Pdt.G/2015/Pa dihubungkan dengan ketentuan Pasal 1682 KUPdt
No full textPerkara hibah merupakan bagian dari kewenangan absolut pengadilan agama dalam memeriksa, mengadili dan memutuskan perkara. Pengajuan perkara hibah harus bersipat contentius (gugatan) dan tidak bisa dengan volunteir (permohonan). Sedangkan dalam perkara Nomor 7417/pdt.g/2015/PACmi perkara hibah di ajukan secara volunteir (penetapan), sehingga hal tersebut bertentangan dengan ketentuan Pasal 1682 KUHPer, bahwa penetapan hibah hanya dapat dilakukan dengan akta notaris yang naskah aslinya disimpan dinotaris dan jika tidak dilakukan, hal tersebut tidak sah.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui pertimbangan hakim dalam perkara 7417/pdt.g/2015/PACmi di Pengadilan Agama Cimahi, dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hukum tentang hibah yang di putuskan oleh Pengadilan Agama.
Penilitian ini bertolah pada pemikiran bahwa penyelesaian sengketa hibah di selesaikan di Pengadian Agama, sedangkan untuk mendapatkan akta otentik bahwa seseorang yang menghibahkan tanah atau barang bergerak si penerima hibah mempunyai landasan hukum yang jelas di atur dalam Pasal 1866 dan Pasal 1867 kitab Undang-undang Hukum Perdata bahwa akta notaris adalah bukti tertulis. Akta otentik sendiri memiliki tiga kekuatan pembuktian yaitu kekuatan pembuktian formal, kekuatan pembuktian materil, dan kekuatan pembuktian mengikat antar pihak serta peristiwa hukum.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif, dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data untuk mendeskripsikan masalah utama adalah sumber data primer (salinan putusan perkara nomor 7417/pdt.g/2015/PACmi) dan sumber data sekunder (studi kepustakaan). Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara wawancara,, dan studi kepustakaan.
Hasil penelitian (1) Pertimbangan hukum hakim dalam penetapan perkara Nomor: 7417/Pdt.G/2015/PACmi yaitu bahwa pelaksanaan hibah tersebut sudah sah secara hukum karena mempunyai hubungan hukum yang jelas dari orangtua kepada anaknya. Serta tidak ada unsur paksaan, ancaman, atau tekanan dari pihak manapun, Karena tujuan dari penghibahan harta tersebut adalah kasih sayang orangtua kepada anaknya untuk bekal berkeluarga Namun penetapan Pengadilan Agama Cimahi tidak serta merta in casu kepada instansi lain yang terkait seperti Notaris, PPAT, dan BPN karena tidak ada unsur sengketa dari penetapan hibah tersebut. Sehingga tetap perlu diajukan kepada PPAT untuk pembuatan akta otentik atas penghibahan tersebut. (2) Dasar hukum yang digunakan majelis hakim dalam menetapkan perkara hibah dengan Nomor: 7417/Pdt.G/2015/PACmi hanya pasal 210 Kompilasi Hukum Islam, Selain itu majelis hakim tidak mempertimbangkan sumber hukum positif lainnya, namun melihat dari segi unsur kemaslahatan karena penghibahan ini adalah bentuk kasih sayang orangtua pada anak
