Influence of loudspeaker directivity on the measurement uncertainty
One of the most significant aspects of a building’s acoustic behavior is the airborne sound insulation of the room façades, since this determines the protection of its inhabitants against environmental noise. For this reason, authorities in most countries have established in their acoustic regulations for buildings the minimum value of sound insulation that must be respected for façades. In order to verify compliance with legal requirements it is usual to perform acoustic measurements in the finished buildings and then compare the measurement results with the established limits. Since there is always a certain measurement uncertainty, this uncertainty must be calculated and taken into account in order to ensure compliance with specifications. The most commonly used method for measuring sound insulation on façades is the so-called Global Loudspeaker Method, specified in ISO 140-5:1998. This method uses a loudspeaker placed outside the building as a sound source. The loudspeaker directivity has a significant influence on the measurement results, and these results may change noticeably by choosing different loudspeakers, even though they all fulfill the directivity requirements of ISO 140-5. This work analyzes the influence of the loudspeaker directivity on the results of façade sound insulation measurement, and determines its contribution to measurement uncertainty. The theoretical analysis is experimentally validated by means of an intermediate precision test according to ISO 5725-3:1994, which compares the values of sound insulation obtained for a façade using various loudspeakers with different directivitie

An Application of ISO 5725 in Brewing Industry
2002 Mathematics Subject Classification: 62P30, 62P10.The colloidal stability is very important part of the total beer quality. The stabilized beers have to have a long shelf-life. Determination of some haze forming complexes could be very useful for prediction of beer colloidal stability. We study the repeatability and reproducibility of a method for determination of some haze forming complexes in beer. The method was tested in 10 laboratories. All of theme analyzed the same beer samples and carried out two measurements for each. Statistical evaluation of results was according ISO 5725 and previous experience. The applied ISO 5725 statistical analyzes ensured high quality and possibility of international recognition of the measurement method.Partially supported by Mathind IST-2000-26015 and by Pro-enbis GTC1-2001-43031
Possible BK-bar molecular structure of B*s(0)(5725) in the Bethe-Salpeter approach
We interpret the scalar Bs0*(5725) as an S-wave BK̅ molecular bound state in the Bethe-Salpeter approach. In the ladder and instantaneous approximation, with the kernel induced by ρ and ω exchanges, we establish the Bethe-Salpeter equation for Bs0*(5725). We find that the bound state of BK̅ can exist. We also calculate the isospin-violating decay width of the process Bs0*(5725)→Bsπ0 through exchanging K* and B* mesons including the η-π0 mixing effect. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Analiza rezultata mjerenja debljine premaza sukladno normi ISO 5725
U posljednje vrijeme postavljaju se sve oštriji zahtjevi na kvalitetu debljine premaza, te je procese nanošenja potrebno pratiti u svim fazama. U radu su analizirani rezultati mjerenja debljine premaza na profilu čelične konstrukcije mosta. Mjerenja su provedena mjernim instrumentom Elcometer 456 od strane četiri laboratorija. U cilju procjene točnosti i preciznosti rezultata mjerenja analiza je provedena sukladno normi ISO 5725:1994
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
