No full textEftirfarandi greinargerð er meistaraverkefni í hagnýtri menningarmiðlun við Háskóla Íslands. Verkefnið er gerð texta á veggspjöldum, kynning á textanum á tveim málþingum, annars vegar fyrirlestur á ensku, hins vegar á spænsku og smíði vefsins http://1615.info sem inniheldur ítarefni sem tengist efni veggspjaldanna. Vefurinn er hannaður þannig að hann á að opnast auðveldlega, með sömu framsetningu og hraða í símum, tölvum og spjaldtölvum.
Efnið sem er miðlað eru atburðir sem helst eru þekktir sem Spánverjavígin.
Haustið 1615 átti sá atburður sér stað norður í Ísafjarðarsýslu að Íslendingar tóku af lífi skipbrota hvalveiðimenn. Þessi atburður er oftast kallaður Spánverjavígin. Hér var þó ekki um Spánverja að ræða, heldur Baska sem komu frá Norður Spáni.
Hluti verkefnisins er vefur sem ætlað er að varpa örlitlu ljósi á Baska, hvaðan þeir komu, sögu þeirra, hvað þeir aðhöfðust og hvers vegna þeir mættu þeim örlögum að vera drepnir á Íslandi
