Development of novel pi-electron dificient nitrogen-containing heterocycles for dehydrocondensations
脱水縮合剤DMT-MMは、水中やアルコール中でもカルボン酸とアミンの脱水縮合反応が選択的に進行し、アミドを高収率に与える優れた縮合剤である。今回、DMT-MMを構成するπ電子欠乏性トリアジン環の置換基検討と骨格変換を行うことで、複数の新規高反応性脱水縮合剤及び機能性脱水縮合剤を開発した。これらの知見を基に、同様にトリアジンを基盤とする新規アルキル化剤及び新規反応の開発にも成功した。We have developed novel dehydrocondensing reagents related to DMT-MM, which enables us to conduct reactions between carboxylic acids and amines in aqueous or alcoholic solvents to give amides. In this research project, we succeeded in synthesizing highly activated and/or functionalized dehydrocondensing reagents by the detailed study on the substituent effect and the skeletal transformation of pi-electron-deficient triazines. Development of novel reagents taking the advantage of the electron deficient nitrogen-containing heterocycles
本研究課題では、申請者らが長年に亘って解明・蓄積してきたトリアジンをはじめとするπ電子欠乏性含窒素複素環化合物の構築法、構造と反応特性の相関性などの知見に基づいて、そのポテンシャルを最大限に引き出した次世代の新反応剤の開発を目的とする。具体的には脱水縮合剤、アルキル化剤、酸化剤を中心に、重金属を使用せずC, N, Oの第2周期元素からなり、反応性、化学選択性、安全性、安定性、経済性などの点で従来より優れた反応剤の開発を行った。In this project, we aim to develop new reagents by maximizing the potential of π-electron deficient nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds such as triazines. This research was carried out based on the knowledge of the preparation methods and the correlation between the structure and the reactivities of these heterocycles, which we have elucidated and accumulated over the years. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Development of reactions fieilds for dehydrocondensations toward creation of new technologies on the basis of triazine chemistry
トリアジンを含む脱水縮合剤は水やアルコール中でもアミドを合成できる上に,様々な官能基の導入が容易であるという点で特に優れている。本課題では,これらの特性を利用して,水を含む均一系の種々の溶媒,ポリマー,界面,タンパクなど,多様な反応場での反応を検討した。その結果,従来法と比べて簡便な化学変換反応の開発や,膜やタンパク質などの生体分子の機能解析に役立つ新技術を開発することに成功した。Dehydrocondensing reagents composed of 1,3,5-triazine are superior to other related reagents because they allow synthesizing amides in aqueous solvents or in alcohols, in addition, a diversity of functional groups can be readily introduced into the chlorotriazine ring. In this research project, we examined reactions using such useful triazine reagents in various reaction fields including aqueous or non-aqueous homogeneous solvents, polymers, interfaces, and proteins. Control of short-lived highly reactive carbocation species for drug discovery and life science applications
本研究課題では、炭素活性種の中で有機合成上の制御がもっとも困難なカルボカチオンに焦点をあて、その発生法と安定化法の開発を行った。その結果、効果的な脱離基を設計することにより、極めて温和な条件下での1分子脱離機構に基づくカルボカチオン種の発生法の開発に成功した。また、生じたカチオン種に対して可逆的に配位し、これを安定化する捕捉剤を開発し、捕捉溶液を一定時間保存後に求核剤との反応が進行することを明らかにした。In this project, we focused on carbocations, which are the most difficult carbon-active species to be controlled in organic synthesis, and developed new methods for their generation and stabilization. By designing an effective leaving group, we succeeded in developing a method for the generation of carbocation species by a unimolecular elimination mechanism under extremely mild conditions. Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Developmemt of Efficient Sensing Method for Targeting Proteins Based on Dehydrocondensing Reactions
脱水縮合反応を基盤としたモジュール式アフィニティーラベル化法(MoAL法)は、従来のアフィニティーラベル化法の利点を生かしつつ問題点だけを克服した優れた新規タンパク質探索技術であり、今回この技術の実用化に向けた研究を飛躍的に進展させた。本課題では、薬物の標的タンパクに特異的な効率的標識化反応条件の確立と高効率的触媒ユニットの開発、極微量のタンパク質を識別する高感度検出法の開発、未知の標的タンパクの探索実験に成功した。A modular method for affinity labeling (MoAL method), which is based on dehydrocondensing reactions in aqueous solvents and overcomes problems of conventional affinity labeling method, has been developed. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
