No full textThis group of micrographs illustrate the ultrastructural characteristics of the middle layer of the three meningeal layers that cover the central nervous system. The arachnoid cells contain abundant intermediate filaments that occupy a substantial volume of the cytoplasm. In some cells the intermediate filaments are organized into numerous coils of relatively uniform size and orientation, and some coils are closely associated with the nuclear envelope, as is shown in this micrograph. The coils appear to stack in loose hexagonal arrays (see CIL:9301). The plasma membrane of these cells has many caveolae. Adjacent arachnoid cells are connected by large desmosomes. Images were recorded using a Philips EM301 TEM at 80 kv. Original glass plates were scanned and digitized using an Epson V750 flatbed scanner with a step size of 15 micrometers. Rate of violations of RA 10054 (no helmet, no travel act of 2009) : basis for intervention
No full textIn Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Bachelor of Science in CriminologyMotorcycle laws are enacted for the purpose of protecting the motorists. This study was conducted to determine the rate of violations and the intervention needed involving No Helmet, No Travel Act of 2002 (R.A. No. 10054) in Davao City, Philippines. A letter was forwarded to the Land transportation Office requesting for the data of the rate of violators for the month of January-September 2016 of the said Republic Act. There were no respondents in this study. Instead, the statistician tallied the data that was acquired by the researchers from the LTO. Results show that in terms of No Helmet, March has the highest rate of violations of No Helmet, No travel Act of 2002 (R.A. 10054). In terms of excess passenger, February has the highest rate of violations of No Helmet, No Travel Act of 2009 (R.A 10054). While in terms of wearing of flip flops, August has the highest rate of violations of No Helmet, No Travel Act of 2009 (R.A 10054) Hence, the researchers conducted an intervention to create and propose an alternative plans for the provisions of No Helmet, No Travel Act of 2009 (R.A 10054) to lessen and maintain the certainty of enforcing the said law for the benefits of the motorists in Davao city and for the better and safe living of the residents of Davao City.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods

Get PDFObjetivo: determinar la relación significativa entre el estrés académico y la resiliencia en los estudiantes de 1° 2° y 3° de secundaria de la Institución Educativa “N° 10054 del sector Chacupe Bajo, la victoria - Chiclayo. Material y método: el estudio fue de tipo cuantitativo, nivel básico y diseño descriptivo correlacional. La población de estudio lo conformaron 100 estudiantes de 1° 2° y 3° de secundaria la Institución Educativa “N° 10054 del sector Chacupe Bajo, La Victoria - Chiclayo”. La muestra fue no probabilística y de tipo censal. La técnica de recolección fue la encuesta y los instrumentos utilizados fueron el cuestionario de estrés académico y resiliencia. Resultados: no existe relación significativa entre el estrés académico y la resiliencia, en los estudiantes de 1° 2° y 3° de secundaria de la Institución Educativa “N° 10054 del sector Chacupe Bajo, La Victoria – Chiclayo; debido al valor de a través de 00, según el coeficiente de correlación de Pearson. Así mismo; se halló nivel bajo de estrés académico 53,0 %, y nivel bajo de resiliencia 46,0%. Conclusiones: se desestima que a mayor estrés académico mayor nivel de resiliencia en los estudiantes de 1° 2° y 3° de secundaria de la Institución Educativa “N° 10054 del sector Chacupe Bajo, La Victoria – Chiclayo
