Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Construction of Functional Supramolecular Hybrids Using Macrocyclic Host Molecules
環状ホスト分子であるシクロデキストリン(CD)を用いて単層カーボンナノチューブ(SWNT)の可溶化を行った。CDのみ、もしくはゲスト分子のみでは、SWNTを溶解させることができなかったが、CD-ゲスト包接錯体を用いた場合、SWNTを可溶化できることが分かった。また、ククルビツリル、水溶性カリックスアレーン、ピレン基を導入したCD誘導体を利用し、SWNTの周りに環状ホスト分子を導入した超分子複合体を得ることにも成功した。研究課題/領域番号:19750110, 研究期間(年度):2007-2008出典:「分子認識に基づく機能性超分子複合体の創成」研究成果報告書 課題番号19750110

Construction of π-Electron Rich Molecular Tubes Using para-Bridged Macrocyclic Host Molecules
パラ位連結環状ホスト分子であるPillar[5]areneと、Pillar[5]areneの空孔内部に取り込まれるビオロゲンを連結したビオロゲンポリマーを混合したところ、ビオロゲンポリマーを軸、Pillar[5]areneを輪成分としたポリ擬ロタキサンを得ることができた。末端を嵩高いアダマンチル基で封鎖することにより、ポリロタキサンを得ることにも成功した。さらに、Pillar[5]areneの分子間水素結合を利用することで、自己組織的にチューブ構造を形成することを見出した。New polyrotaxane composed of pillar[5]arene and viologen polymer was successfully prepared with extremely high yield by capping the chain ends with adamantyl moieties. Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Construction of new supramolecular assemblies based on host-guest chemistry in bulk state
本研究では溶媒を用いないバルク系でのホスト-ゲスト化学の開拓を目的とした。1)バルクホスト-ゲストシステムにより蛍光色がスイッチング可能な液体発光材料の開発や、2)面性キラリティー機能を付加した環状ホスト液体の開発さらに3)枝分かれ構造を有するアルキル鎖をPillar[5]arene骨格に導入することで、疎水性ゲスト分子を溶解可能な環状ホスト液体の合成を行った。In this study, we constructed new supramolecular assemblies based on host-guest chemistry in bulk state. First, we developed switchable luminescence liquid based on bulk state host-guest chemistry. Synthesis of new phenolic polymers with highly regular liner structures
本研究では、構造が明確な直鎖状フェノール性高分子の合成に成功した。第一に位置選択的なメチレン結合の開裂を伴う超原子価ヨウ素によるユニットの酸化により、直鎖状フェノール性高分子の合成に成功した。第二に多価フェノール化合物の分子構造を設計し、直鎖状フェノール性高分子の合成に成功した。得られた直鎖状フェノール性高分子の光学特性について検討したところ、空間的にπ共役系が拡張することで、蛍光発光を示すことが分かった。In this study, we successfully synthesized linear phenolic polymers. First, we produced linear phenolic polymers by position selective cleavage of methylene bridges between phenolic units by oxidation. Second, linear phenolic polymers were obtained by designing phenolic monomers to inhibit the formation of three dimensional phenolic polymers. Construction of Thermo-setting Phenolic Resin Containing Sliding Unit Segments
軸分子となるビオロゲンポリマーの高分子量化を試みた。しかし、カチオン反応の反応性が低いためか、得られたポリマーは繰り返しユニットが8-10程度のオリゴマーしか得ることができなかった。そこで、主鎖をポリTHFへと変更し、ポリロタキサンの合成を試みた。その結果、液体であるトリエチレンオキシド鎖導入Pillar[5]areneに軸分子を混合し、キャッピング反応を行うことで、ポリロタキサンを得ることに成功した。イオン性基を含有していないPillar[5]areneからなるポリロタキサンの初めての合成例である。We firstly tried to synthesize viologen polymers with high molecular weights. However, due to the low reactivity of the cationic reaction, the degree of polymerization (DP) was found to be 8-10. Thus, we synthesized the other pillar[5]arene-based polyrotaxanes containing polyTHF. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
