A Relação Entre o Perfil Profissional dos Alunos e as Áreas Temáticas de Suas Dissertações: Uma Pesquisa no Mestrado de Ciências Contábeis da FACC-UFRJ
No full textO estudo tem por objetivo investigar a relação existente entre o perfil profissional dos alunos e a área temática escolhida, nas dissertações defendidas no programa de pós-graduação strictu sensu em ciências contábeis da Faculdade de Administração e Ciências Contábeis da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – FACC/UFRJ. A questão de pesquisa reside na verificação de uma possível influência do perfil profissional do autor na área temática de sua dissertação. A plataforma teórica compreende um histórico e contextualização do referido programa de mestrado, bem como estudos de pesquisas contábeis. Foram consideradas 71 dissertações, compreendidas entre os anos de 2000 e 2009 (1º semestre) e três perfis definidos como: público, privado e estudante. Nesse contexto, foram utilizadas 14 áreas temáticas, inspiradas na classificação utilizada pela The American Accounting Association – (AAA), The European Accounting Association – (EAA) e pelas principais universidades dos EUA e Europa, adaptadas à realidade da FACC-UFRJ. A pesquisa está classificada como exploratória, bibliográfica e documental, com avaliação quantitativa. Os dados necessários foram coletados, tabulados e, em seguida, analisados por meio da técnica estatística denominada análise de correspondência (ANACOR). Como resultado, constatou-se uma tendência de autores com perfis profissionais “público” escolherem temas relacionados a controle gerencial, além de sistemas de informações contábeis e contabilidade pública. Soma-se a isso, a observação de outras tendências para os demais perfis pesquisados, profissionais do setor privado e estudantes, no que tange a escolha da área temática de suas obras. Cumpri ressaltar a limitação da pesquisa no que se refere à abrangência das conclusões, haja vista que o estudo está restrito ao programa de mestrado de uma universidade específica. Assim sendo, sugere-se a continuação dessa pesquisa em outras instituições de ensino, bem como a verificação de outros fatores de influência na escolha do tema, como, por exemplo, a formação acadêmica do corpo docente

No full textThe genesis of the expected merger between the Association of African Trade Promotion Organizations (AATPO) and the Federation of African Chambers of Commerce (FACC) goes back to the formation of the Ad-hoc Committee of Ten member states in 1983, by the ECA Conference of Ministers, to carry out an appraisal of regional development institutions created under the auspices of the ECA and suggest alternative courses of action on their future status. AATPO and FACC, whose common objectives involve the promotion and development of intra-African trade and investment, were identified as compatible potential merger partners from regional development organizations classified under the trade and finance sub-group. On the issue of liquidating outstanding liabilities prior to the merger, the distinction between the principle and the mechanism of settlement must be appreciated. The two courses of action for resolving the debt problem reduce to honorable settlement or outright default

Sensitization to Bjerkandera adusta Enhances Severity of Cough Symptom in Patients with Fungus-Associated Chronic Cough(FACC)
No full text[Objective]The aim of the present study was to clarify the influence of sensitization to Bjerkandera adusta(B. adusta)on the clinical manifestation in patients with fungus-associated chronic cough(FACC).[Methods]Seventeen patients with FACC who underwent bronchoprovocation tests using an antigenic solution of B. adusta were selected from among 21 FACC patients. We compared the allergological findings and clinical characteristics of the FACC patients who showed a positive reaction to the bronchoprovocation test(Allergic fungal cough sensitized to B. adusta; AFC-Bj)with the remaining FACC patients(non AFC-Bj)retrospectively.[Results]The eleven patients with AFC-Bj had a median age of 52(range, 22-70)years, and 45.5% were female. The respective values for six patients with non AFC-Bj were 47.5(range, 36-60)years of age, and 33.3% were female. The positive ratios for an immediate cutaneous reaction(45.5%; p<0.05)and the lymphocyte stimulation test(63.6%; p<0.05)to B. adusta were found to be significantly higher in the AFC-Bj group than in the non AFC-Bj group. The total time required for complete remission of cough symptoms was longer(median 20, range 12-43 weeks; p=0.0009), and the recurrence ratio of coughing was more frequent in the AFC-Bj group in comparison to those in non AFC-Bj group(2, range 1-3 times and 0.5, range 0-1 times, respectively).[Conclusions]This study demonstrated that B. adusta, a basidiomycetous is an environmental fungus attracting attention because of its possible role in enhancing the cough severity of FACC patients via the sensitization to this fungus
