Industrial Solid Waste Control in Danang City
The risk of environmental pollution resulting from industrial solid waste is becoming a pressing issue in the environment protection in Vietnam in general and Danang in particular. This situation is due to the fact that the authorities concerned are not really interested in solid waste disposal and control as well as environmental protection in the industrial zones in the period of industrialization and modernization. Therefore, assessing the necessity of the control of solid waste in the industrial areas in Danang City, the author proposes recommendations to improve control efficiency and reduce environmental pollution, achieving the goal for Danang City – an environmental city in 2020
Special Economic Zones and Economic Corridors
Various reports show that special economic zones (SEZ) have become a prime catalyst for regional development in developing countries such as China and the ASEAN countries. The SEZ can be defined as a specific geographical region with economic laws that are more liberal than a country's typical economic laws. Many SEZs have characteristics of bonded zones, export processing zone (EPZ) or free trade zones and provide special incentives, including tax exemption or reduction to investors. The purpose of the paper is to enumerate the candidates for SEZ in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam (CLMV countries) according to four types: "metropolitan areas," "ports and harbors," "border areas" and "junctions or intersections." The first two types are based on the experience of forerunning ASEAN countries and the latter two are based on the economic corridors of the Greater Mekong Sub region Economic Cooperation Program. The paper concludes by identifying locations for the questionnaire and flowchart approach-based surveys, and presenting country-specific strategies.ASEAN, SEZ, Port, Harbor, Junction, Economic Corridor, CLMV, GMS.

Implementation of loading and unloading using a ship's crane must be
carried out properly and handling loads that exceed SWL crane vessels. On this
basis the author formulates the problem of how the loading and unloading
practices using the ship's crane in MV. Oriental Jade and what if the load exceeds
the SWL crane of the ship. The method used in this study is a qualitative method
that produces descriptive data in the form of written words from people and
observed behavior. In this case collecting data in the form of approach to the
object through observation, interview directly to the subject and using documents
and data related to the implementation of loading and unloading by using a ship
crane.
Based on the results of research conducted during the screen practice
author in MV. Oriental Jade on loading and unloading activities using a ship's
crane found problems encompassing crane preparations that were too long,
unloading tools partly improper, wirerope worn out. In loading and unloading
operations, the load exceeds the SWL crane and consequently the charge can not
be lifted by a crane so that two cranes are combined so that the load is not too
heavy and the load raised with HMC (Harbor Mobile Crane).
With good preparation before loading and unloading by using crane
determine the smooth and not implementation of loading and unloading. If on the
ground there is HMC (Harbor Mobile Crane) better to use HMC (Harbor Mobile
Crane) instead of using ship crane, because HMC (Harbor Mobile Crane) has
larger SWL than ship crane and to be safer to minimize work accident and protect
ship crew and payload.

Research on Application of SCOR Model to Improve Supply Chain of Small and Medium Enterprises in Danang City, Vietnam
Supply chain has long been identified as a competitiveness strategy of enterprises and is the topic of many studies. However, most research has focused on developing and improving supply chain for enterprises in developed countries with less concern for typical features of small and medium enterprises in developing countries. The supply chain operations reference model (SCOR) is a generic model, providing a framework for developing a supply chain. This model specifies best practices and a standard description of supply chain processes as well as provides basis structure and standard terms to help enterprises unify their management tools. This paper presents barriers and challenges for SMEs in Danang city when they apply SCOR model. The author also proposes a model that supports enterprises to adapt the SCOR's best practices to their own context.
