No full textThe aim of this paper is to present the improvements and resistances in the introduction of the gender perspective in the translation class. Specifically, the paper deals with the results of a teaching experience with a gender perspective, undertaken in the translation class (Italian-Spanish). It is part of a teaching innovation project geared to carrying out a pilot study on introducing a gender dimension into a number of subjects of the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona’s Translation and Interpreting degree program, through different learning objectives and learning outcomes specifically related to gender competence. The purpose of developing gender competence in the translation classroom is to stimulate critical thinking in students, providing them with new tools to recognize stereotypes, norms and social gender roles present in the starting texts, so that students learn to problematize socialization patterns and to develop skills and strategies that allow them to translate with a feminist conscience and ethics. The development of these skills often depends on the academic context and the attitude of teachers and students towards the gender dimension. Thus, the article presents: the main resistance of teachers and students to the introduction of the gender dimension in the translation class; the subject of translation and the learning objectives related to gender competence: the description of the teaching experience; the results obtained through the analysis of the translations and the questionnaires completed by the students, and the conclusions
A Systemic-Functional Approach to Music, Meaning and Multimodal Transposition
No full textThe present study aims to make a contribution to multimodal studies adopting a systemic-functional framework to build a theoretical device that allows analysing music in multimodal constructions. Our proposal is based on Kress & van Leeuwen’s model for image analysis (2005). Several categories proposed by these authors have been re-elaborated to fit a musical approach and new categories have been added following McKerrell (2015) and van Leeuwen (1999) perspectives. Our working hypothesis is that meaning in music is socially conventionalised and associated with meaningful constructions in other modes. Thus absolute music conceptualizations access multimodal levels of discourse as part of representations constituted by associated meanings in the different modes
Le espansioni semantiche dell'indefinito locativo in messinese
No full textItI dialetti siciliani nord-orientali presentano una serie di pronomi indefiniti d'uso colloquiale formata a partire dai pronomi interrogativi e dal verbo 'essere', tra cui unn=è 'da qualche parte'. In questo articolo s'indagano le espansioni modali e aspettuali del menzionato pronome locativo. L'introduzione delinea il carattere pronominale di unnè per venire alla sua funzione evidenziale/epistemica. La seconda sezione è dedicata al valore aspettuale prospettivo che unnè assume in presenza (e, talvolta, in assenza) del complementatore chi/ca. Infine, si presenta la semantica apprensiva di unnè in unione col morfema IRREALIS mi. Un questionario fornisce dei dati sull'uso e sulla diffusione geografica dei fenomeni. Per ciascuna parte vengono discussi gli aspetti e i problemi della forma linguistica e si offre una possibile trafila diacronica ricorrendo a confronti tipologici.EnNorth-Eastern Sicilian dialects exhibit a colloquial set of indefinite pronouns formed from interrogative pronouns and the verb to be, including unn=è 'somewhere'. This article investigates the modal and aspectual extensions of this locative pronoun. The introduction outlines the pronominal nature of unnè, leading to its evidential/epistemic function. The second section focuses on the prospective value unnè acquires with (and sometimes without) the complementizer chi/ca. The third section explores the apprehensional semantics of unnè when combined with the IRREALIS morpheme mi. A questionnaire provides data on the usage and geographic distribution of these phenomena. Each section also discusses the formal issues and proposes a possible diachronic pathway within a typological framework
Freedom of conscience and confession in acts of international law and European law
No full textThe subject of this article is religious freedom, which is one of the basic and most important values from the point of view of an individual. The scope of this freedom is subject to constitutional and international protection, as well as provided for in acts of internal law. Religious freedom is also protected on the basis of ultima ratio by means of criminal and civil law. This study focuses on the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights, as they exerted the greatest influence on the jurisprudence of the Polish Constitutional Tribunal. The study includes an analysis of the provisions of the constitution of April 2, 1997 relating to the issue of religious freedom in the individual and institutional aspect. Moreover, an attempt was made to answer the question whether the guarantees of religious freedom are adequately secured under international and national law
Intelligenza Artificiale e Service Learning: sinergie e prospettive nel contesto educativo nazionale ed internazionale
No full textRiassunto: L’intelligenza artificiale sta ridefinendo le modalità dell’insegnamento e dell’apprendimento mentre, il service learning, si conferma sempre di più come una metodologia capace di coniugare conoscenza accademica e impegno civico. Questo articolo analizza le intersezioni tra IA e SL nel contesto europeo e internazionale, esplorando come l’IA possa potenziare le esperienze di apprendimento-servizio e, viceversa, come il SL possa offrire un terreno formativo ed etico per l’uso consapevole delle tecnologie intelligenti. Si discutono applicazioni, sfide e prospettive di ricerca, con particolare attenzione alla promozione della cittadinanza digitale, dell’etica tecnologica e della sostenibilità, in linea con gli Obiettivi di Sviluppo Sostenibile (Agenda 2030). Parole chiave: intelligenza artificiale, service learning, innovazione pedagogica. Abstract: Artificial intelligence is redefining the ways of teaching and learning while, service learning, is increasingly confirmed as a methodology capable of combining academic knowledge and civic commitment. This paper analyzes the intersections between AI and SL in the European and international context, exploring how AI can enhance service-learning experiences and, conversely, how SL can offer a formative and ethical ground for the conscious use of intelligent technologies. Applications, challenges and research perspectives are discussed, with a focus on promoting digital citizenship, technological ethics and sustainability, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030).
