This paper analyses diachronically the tendency to avoid ending a word that begins in the first foot at the second trochee/biceps in Greek hexameter (Meyer’s First Law/Giseke’s Law). Typologies and sub-typologies of violation are detected, by examining the behaviour of appositives at the bridge at the second trochee/biceps. Based on these typologies and sub-typologies, trends in the technique of versification are identified by analysing a sample of texts from the Archaic Age to Late Antiquity

Sustainability of shared mobility: recent empirical evidence
As the world becomes more urbanized, the challenges facing cities increase, making them more vulnerable to the effects of climate change, to which the transport sector is a major contributor. Despite progress in making private vehicles more sustainable and efficient, a radical change in travel behavior remains essential. One of the most promising solutions is carpooling. The aim of this paper is to highlight the factors that favor the uptake of this form of mobility, including socio-economic characteristics and individual attitudes, and to describe the economic, social and environmental impacts of carpooling. It also analyses the barriers to its diffusion and the policies that support its uptake. Shared mobility, such as carpooling, has the potential to play a critical role in promoting social inclusion by offering affordable transportation options to under¬served communities and contributing to a just transition toward a more sustainable and equitable urban transport system
Among Gabriele Faerno’s Latin poems, we have a composition of just 42 verses dedicated to the physician Omobono Offredi, his fellow countryman. In this short poem, written in elegiac couplets, Faerno narrates how Offredi performed a sur¬gical operation on himself, removing a stone from his bladder. The anecdote offers the poet the opportunity to poetically recount how this pathology was treated in sixteenth-century Italy. In this contribution we aim to analyse the way Faerno uses medical material to construct a celebratory poem, transforming the medical treat¬ment of this disease into poetic material. Thus, we hold this poem as an interesting example of how to ‘narrate medicine’, that is, how to use narrative strategies in the description of diseases and their treatment
“Forty Lines about a Pencil” by N. Kononov: A Poetological Text as a Reflection on Catastrophe
This article examines N. Kononov’s poem “Forty Lines about a Pencil” (1995) through multiple dimensions, including intertextual, poetological, historical-cultural, and textological approaches. Within the poem, writing is portrayed as a fundamental soteriological and disciplining force, capable of resisting historical chaos and, more specifically, the devastation wrought by the First World War. The symbolic image of the pencil, derived from Thomas Mann’s The Magic Mountain (1924), serves as both a souvenir replacing a lost object of desire and as a writing instrument that enables the measurement and articulation of private and collective existence. The poem not only reinterprets Mann’s classic German novel but also interrogates the mutual translatability of distinct cultural frameworks. Within this context, the figure of the beloved operates as a liminal entity, bridging diverse linguistic and civilizational spheres
La ricerca della felicità. Sull’esistenza e la consistenza delle norme
This paper addresses von Wright’s problem concerning the consistency and existence of norms. As is well known, according to von Wright’s account, conflicting norms annihilate one another—that is, they cannot coexist. However, this conclusion appears counterintuitive. To ad-dress this issue, we propose a new account of the conditions under which norms can be said to exist. In brief, our approach distinguishes between the existence of a norm, which is grounded in a specific class of acts, and the consistency of a norm, which is tied to its possibility
