Fractured Pluralism. The Prospect of Political Liberalism in the Age of Vibes
No full textPolitical liberalism, both in Rawls and in the subsequent tradition, takes as its point of departure the “fact of pluralism” of comprehensive doctrines, some of which are reasonable. But while the notion of reasonableness has received ample attention, the underlying model of pluralism has not. In this paper, we first analyze the Rawlsian understanding of pluralism and conclude that, because of its heavy focus on “doctrines”, it is overly intellectualistic and, as such, it fails to accurately describe the fractured nature of (especially) contemporary societies. Current social disagreements are often based on conflicting intuitions, feelings, or “vibes”, and they do not involve comprehensive, internally consistent systems of beliefs and values. This inadequacy in Rawls has its consequences, as a descriptively accurate account of contemporary pluralism presents a series of challenges for the typical formulations of political liberalism and some of its key concepts. In the second half of the paper, we elaborate these challenges for two of them: overlapping consensus and (un)reasonableness

No full textIn Italia oggi circa un terzo della popolazione sceglie la cremazione rispetto ad altre forme di sepoltura. Eppure, per molteplici ragioni, e non da ultimo per l’associazione con il simbolo che più di ogni altro connota l’architettura dello sterminio, il Crematorio è concepito come uno stabilimento di trattamento dei rifiuti più che come un’architettura sacra, dove si svolge il rito del commiato. Se è vero che il diritto al funerale è tra i più fondamentali, (ri)pensare a tutte le architetture per la morte, e in particolare all’architettura crematoria come luogo dove si compie il passaggio dalla vita umana alla vita postumana, sembra oggi un’urgenza improrogabile. No full textNella redazione mosquense del cosiddetto Menologio Imperiale – una raccolta di testi agiografici destinati alla preghiera per la salvezza spirituale e la salu¬te fisica dell’imperatore epilettico Michele IV Paflagone (1034-1041) – figura un racconto particolare che appartiene al ristretto novero delle Vite delle sante travestite: il bios di Andronico e sua moglie Atanasia. Si tratta della versione abbreviata di una narrazione agiografica connessa per vari tratti all’ambito me¬dico, ma che colpisce altresì per il motivo del travestimento della santa quale ‘monaco Atanasio’. La vicenda dei due taumaturghi Andronico e Atanasia, le¬gati alla nota figura dell’abbas Daniele di Sceti (VI sec.), ha goduto di grande fortuna nei secoli, e in parte della tradizione manoscritta il tema della malattia e dei miracoli di guarigione viene sviluppato con una certa dovizia di elementi e variazioni, a seconda delle redazioni, come viene illustrato nel presente con¬tributo, in cui si ripercorrono brevemente alcune di queste riscritture agiografi¬che. In appendice, è proposta l’edizione dell’Epilogus (BHG 123h) della Vita dei due santi, trasmesso nel ms. oxoniense Bodl. Holkham gr. 27.In the redactio Mosquensis of the so-called Imperial Menologion – a collection of hagiographic texts intended to support prayers for the spiritual salvation and physi¬cal health of the epileptic emperor Michael IV the Paphlagonian (1034-1041) – there appears a peculiar narrative belonging to the limited corpus of Lives of cross-dressed female saints: the Bios of Andronikos and his wife Athanasia. This account constitutes an abridged version of a hagiographic narrative that, in various aspects, is connected to the medical sphere, but is also notable for the motif of Athanasia’s disguise as the ‘monk Athanasios’. The story of the two miracle-workers, Andronikos and his wife – both associated with the well-known figure of Abbas Daniel of Scetis (6th century) – en¬joyed considerable popularity over the centuries. In part of the manuscript tradition, the themes of illness and miraculous healing are developed with notable richness and variation, depending on the recension, as this contribution briefly illustrates through an overview of several of these hagiographic rewritings. The edition of the Epilogus (BHG 123h) to the Life of the two saints, as transmitted in manuscript Oxford, Bodl. Holkham gr. 27, is presented in the Appendix

No full textThis chapter presents the concept of Just Transition in the context of urban freight electrification. The study aims to assess the equality and fairness of access to electrifi¬cation technologies for urban freight transport across different countries and regions. To achieve this, a literature review was conducted. The results reveal significant geo¬graphical disparities in access to urban freight electrification technologies, with a no¬table concentration of research and implementation in developed Western countries. Furthermore, the study identifies barriers that may limit vulnerable groups from accessing these technologies. The chapter concludes by proposing necessary policy mea¬sures to ensure a fair and equitable transition for all stakeholders involve

However, with regard to this process we can pick up some clues and traces focusing on the interference between individual expressions of worship and ritual practices. These are related to a god so multifaceted as to respond, over time, to different ideological and social needs. Valutare lo sviluppo delle dimensioni collettive nell’apprendimento e nel pensiero individuale
No full textIl presente contributo è basato su uno studio di caso realizzato in una classe quarta primaria. In tale percorso di indagine sono stati sperimentati e utilizzati strumenti di ricerca valutativi orientati a dare evidenza di come percorsi didattici centrati su attività deliberative comunitarie, lavorino sull’apprendimento collet¬tivo e sull’internalizzazione della dimensione sociale nel pensiero individuale. La scelta del metodo di ricerca misto e gli strumenti valutativi progettati ed utilizzati sono in relazione con una concezione dell’apprendimento sociale e costruttivi¬sta, in cui la dimensione relazionale è vista come fondamentale da un punto di vista cognitivo, affettivo e valoriale. Le unità di analisi considerate sono state il gruppo classe come organismo apprendente e l’internalizzazione della “voce co¬munitaria” nei ragionamenti individuali. Sono stati utilizzati come strumenti va¬lutativi un focus group strutturato per rilevare l’auto-valutazione collettiva della classe e una rubrica pensata per valutare elaborati argomentativi scritti, di rifles¬sione individuale, in cui rintracciare lo sviluppo di un’ottica collettivo-sociale, che manifestasse la dimensione comunitaria internalizzata nel pensiero di ogni bambino/a. I risultati confermano l’efficacia dell’intervento e la coerenza degli strumenti pensati per l’evidenza dell’apprendimento
“Lena and the People” by Elena Fanailova: towards the Sociology and Poetics of the Russian Free Verse
No full textИсследуется связь стихотворной формы с содержанием. Верлибр, раз- работанный У. Уитменом во второй половине XIX в., приживался в СССР с трудом. В современной российской поэзии верлибр, сохраняя ореол западной поэтической культуры, нередко сочетает гендерные и по- литические смыслы, транслируя болевой опыт автора, его протестное мировоззрение. Примером может служить верлибр Елены Фанайловой «Лена и люди» как способ прямого говорения, сохраняющий нонкон- формистский посыл. В то же время актуальность свободного стиха мотивирована эстетическими при- чинами: динамической сменой субъектов речи, стилевых регистров, модальностей, использованием приемов построения эпического и драматического текста (сюжет, конфликт, диалог и т. д.), привле- чением или имитацией элементов нехудожественного дискурса, введе- нием в стихотворную речь широчай- ших информационных потоков.The connection of the poetic form with the content is investigated. The free verse, developed by W. Whitman in the second half of the 19th century, took root in the USSR with difficulty. In modern Russian poetry, the free verse, while preserving the aura of Western poetic culture, often combines gender and political meanings, broadcasting the painful experience of the author, his protest worldview. An example is Elena Fanailova’s free verse “Lena and the People” as a way of speaking directly, preserving a nonconformist message. At the same time, the relevance of free verse is motivated by aesthetic reasons: the dynamic change of subjects of speech, stylistic registers, modalities, the use of techniques for constructing epic and dramatic text (plot, conflict, dialogue, etc.), the involvement or imitation of elements of non-artistic discourse, the introduction of the widest information flows into poetic speech
