QUADRA 1. Research Investigation on Territories and the Built Environment
"This first issue of the Quadra series collects the results of researches developed in the frame of the Architecture curriculum of the XXXII-XXXIV Cycles of the PhD course in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Architecture, jointly established by the Università di Trieste and Università di Udine since the academic year 2015-16. Being characterised by strong interdisciplinarity, the curriculum encompasses a range of study fields: architectural and urban design, urban and landscape planning and design, architectural representation, technical architecture, and economic evaluation of plans, projects, and policies. Under the umbrella of economic, social, economic and cultural sustainability and of climate change adaptation and resilience, the focus is on the enhancement and transformation of territories and the built environment, through the integration of different theoretical and operational tools and scales of intervention. By bringing together architectural and urban design reflections and devices, technical and technological tools, spatial planning investigations and instruments, the doctoral researches this book presents provide a picture of a large variety of topics and approaches. Their common aim is to explore fields of innovation in the various steps of transformation processes: from their conception to the proposal of approaches to the building of possible solutions. The first section of the book, Territories of Smartness and Interactions, collects contributions dealing with material and immaterial, physical and technological aspects and tools, addressed to the investigation, integrated planning, management and communication of the multiple dimensions of territorial assets and transformations. The second section, New Metabolisms and Subtractions, presents researches that are primarily related to the fields of architectural and urban design. Each essay is the result of a synthesis and reworking of a doctoral thesis and its key findings, and is introduced by a presentation written by the research supervisor to sketch broader theoretical frameworks. Overall, the book offers an articulate “geography” of topics and hypotheses the PhD course has dealt with: a tentative mapping of research paths, understood as a starting point for new critical reflections, and for stronger interactions among disciplinary fields and approaches."</p
Maschere della decostruzione: su epifilogenesi e plasticità
This article explores the theoretical intersections and divergences between Bernard Stiegler and Catherine Malabou, two prominent figures shaped by the deconstructive legacy of Jacques Der-rida, but whose mutual engagement remains limited. The article seeks to establish a hermeneu-tical framework to address this gap: reading Malabou and Stiegler as “transformation masks” of deconstruction. §1 analyzes Derrida’s concept of trace and its implications for understanding life, death, and exteriority; §2 delves into Stiegler’s epiphylogenesis, highlighting the role of technicity as a co-evolutionary force shaping human individuation; §3 discusses Malabou’s notion of plas-ticity, its Hegelian roots, and its extension into neurosciences and epigenetics. The article pro-poses a “pharmacology of plasticity” as a conceptual bridge between their frameworks, §4. This approach addresses the ambivalence of plasticity as both a creative and a disruptive force. It argues that integrating technicity and plasticity offers new insights into the political stakes of sub-jectivity in a technologically mediated world. By synthesizing Derrida’s différance, Stiegler’s gram-matization, and Malabou’s morphogenesis, the paper advances a nuanced understanding of the dynamic interplay between life, form, and technology
Fast uniform stabilization of the linearized magnetohydrodynamics system by finite-dimensional localized feedback controllers
This research project considers the d-dimensional MagnetoHydroDynamics (MHD) system defined on a sufficiently smooth bounded domain, d = 2, 3 with homogeneous boundary conditions, and subject to external sources assumed to cause instability. The initial conditions for both fluid and magnetic equations are taken of low regularity. We then seek to uniformly stabilize such MHD system in the vicinity of an unstable equilibrium pair, in the critical setting of correspondingly low regularity spaces, by means of explicitly constructed, static, feedback controls, which are localized on an arbitrarily small interior subdomain. In addition, the actuators will be minimal in number. The resulting space of well-posedness and stabilization is a suitable product space eB2−2/p q,p (Ω) × eB2−2/p q,p (Ω), 1 d, of tight Besov spaces for the fluid velocity component and the magnetic field component (each “close” to L3(Ω) for d = 3). It is known that such Besov space does not recognize compatibility conditions at the boundary, yet it provides a “minimal” level of regularity necessary to handle the nonlinear terms. In this paper we provide a solution of the first step: uniform stabilization of the linearized MHD. Showing maximal Lp-regularity up to T = ∞ for the feedback stabilized linearized system is critical for the analysis of well-posedness and stabilization of the feedback nonlinear problem. The solution of the nonlinear stabilization problem is to be given in a successive paper [29]

This paper aims to bring into dialogue the philosophical perspective developed by Ber-nard Stiegler and the postphenomenology inaugurated by Don Ihde. Specifically, it is intended to compare these perspectives with the aim of proposing an integration between the postphenomenological approach and Stiegler's thought, leading to an organological version of postphenomenology. Such an integration would make it possible to rethink technique through recourse as much to the static perspective proposed by postphenom-enology as to the genealogical Stieglerian perspective and its ethical-political scope. In this sense, it is intended to give initial indications for the development of an organological version of postphenomenology
What Became of the Individual? Rethinking Subjectity After Marx’s Scientific Revolution
This article examines Michael Heinrich’s interpretation of Marx’s scientific revolution, emphasizing its distinctive contribution to understanding Marx’s break with classical political economy. While Heinrich underscores Marx’s rejection of anthropological foundations, this study explores whether such a rupture necessarily precludes considerations of individuality and subjectivity within Marx’s mature critique. By reconstructing key conceptual transformations and critically reassessing Heinrich’s interpretation of fundamental categories in Marxian value theory, this paper offers an alternative perspective on the repositioning of subjectivity within Marx’s theoretical framework as reflected in his later works
