In different periods, Pliny the Elder and Justin recount the legend of the Colchians’ passage through Istria, associating it with the origins of the Istrian people. The purpose of this study is to identify the points of convergence between the two sources as well as the elements of originality in relation to ancient tradition, in order to demonstrate that both derive from a common literary tradition. Furthermore, the paper advances a set of arguments to support the hypothesis that Timagenes of Alexandria served as one of their sources of inspiration
Lo stato di diritto in una democrazia costituzionale. Contributo al dibattito su “Lo normativo: variedades y variaciones” di José Juan Moreso
The article addresses Moreso’s idea of the rule of law as an “organic unity” (Moore 1903) that combines three inter-dependent ideals: legality, democratic self-government, and the protection of human rights. First, the article points out that this idea goes beyond the contrast between formal (“thin”) and substantive (“thick”) conceptions of the rule of law to ground a new under-standing, according to which the rule of law is a set of integrated sub-ideals. Second, the paper discusses the terms in which this complex, integrated ideal may shape and guide the exercise of public powers in constitutional democratic orders. With a focus on public administration as a crucial actor in realizing this ideal

MacIntyre's Reading of Vasilij Grossman and the Contemporary Ways of Realism
The last book of Alasdair MacIntyre, recently translated into Italian, considers the peculiarity of Grossman’s life and work (MacIntyre 2016). Grossman appears as one of the examples of practical reasoners who succeeded in achieving a virtuous life. On the one hand, MacIntyre’s reading is a sign of the growing popularity of Grossman in our epoch. On the other hand, philosophically speaking, MacIntyre’s peculiar reading is part of a tradition of readers focused on Grossman’s work, which is considered part of or an emblem of a philosophical theory. This paper attempts to recall those fundamental early theoretical readings (1), to situate MacIntyre’s reading of Grossman within this tradition, emphasizing in particular his realism (2), and further to qualify Grossman’s realism, taking into account the chronological developmentof his thought in a metaphysical sense (3)

Introducing OTRM: a YouTube-based approach to media dialogue interpreters’ education
Accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic, the digital revolution has radically changed our living, professional, and teaching/learning environments. In the field of Interpreting Studies, technology-mediated resources are now widely used by educators and students. With specific reference to dialogue interpreter education, the focus has increasingly been on situated learning approaches based on the use of real-life data. Building on these premises, this paper reports on a preliminary qualitative investigation of educational resources available on YouTube in the fields of healthcare and media interpreting. Findings reveal the presence of simulation-based learning materials in the former versus an absence of pedagogically embedded resources in the latter. In light of this, a research-based proposal for a social constructivist learning model is put forward: designed for both in-class and self-study education, the On-the-Tube Role-play Method (OTRM) aims at enabling students of media dialogue interpreting to engage with authentic data through a guided and structured learning process inviting personal as well as shared reflection on the specific challenges posed by the broadcast entertainment

ARCHITECTURE AND AUTISM. SHARED SPACES AND SENSORY ESCAPES. PROCEEDINGS OF THE INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP TRIESTE, 28 NOVEMBER 2025
The international conference Architecture and Autism: Shared Spaces and Sensory Escapes brings together researchers, designers, educators, and professionals to explore how architecture can support the sensory and emotional needs of neurodivergent individuals. The conference highlights the BeSENSHome Interreg Italy-Austria project, a multidisciplinary initiative developing intelligent sensory systems and adaptive environments that respond to individual preferences, needs, and neurodivergent profiles. Through keynote lectures and four thematic sessions, the event examines multisensory spaces for care and education, participatory design and co-creation, research on auditory accessibility and comfort, and the integration of AI and smart technologies in inclusive environments. Case studies and innovative projects – from school classrooms to museums – illustrate how design can foster autonomy, well-being, and social connection
