Bloom lab: ricerca-azione tra scuola e territorio

    No full text

Ethical Issues as the Philosophical Debate on Animal Cognitive Enhancement Continues

    No full text
In the early 2000s, the debate surrounding Transhumanism and the potential of science to transform human beings prompted discussion about extending these possibilities to non-human animals. One philosophical dispute concerned the possibility of enhancing animals’ cognitive abilities to near-human levels. This would grant animals access to intellectual, social, and cul-tural resources that are currently reserved for humans. The purpose of this paper is to reopen the ethical debate on the cognitive enhancement of animals, particularly in light of advances in gene editing technologies. The aim is twofold: firstly, to address previously discussed issues, such as the lack of consent, and secondly, to expand the ethical analysis to consider possible fu-tures of a world in which animals are close to human in terms of intelligence

Storie dentro.

    Normas, razones y motivaciones

    No full text
The main objective of this paper is to analyze how Moreso examines the connection between reasons, norms, and motivation of behavior. To a large extent, Moreso's approach, outlined in various chapters in his book Lo normativo: variedades y variaciones, depends on the acceptance of the Kantian principle ‘ought implies can’. This principle is widely accepted in the logic of norms, though in the field of law, it generates philosophically controversial consequences. For example, it follows that an incoherent set of norms could not exist within the same normative corpus. An independent yet intrinsically connected argument was developed by Ricardo Caracciolo, suggesting that from certain intuitive theses regarding norms, the motivation behind behavior, and reasons for action, it would follow that we are not obligated to perform actions for which we lack the desire to undertake. In this paper, I attempt to show that Moreso's arguments for addressing this dilemma proposed by Caracciolo need further development

    No full text
In recent years, language education has undergone a profound transformation, significantly accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic, which led to the rapid adoption of online teaching strategies by universities. This study explores the case of Italian as a second language (L2) courses for PhD students at the University of Turin, which have been conducted entirely online since 2020. The research focuses on the integration of game-based language teaching (glottodidattica ludica) and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance student engagement, personalize learning experience, and foster communicative competence. A variety of AI-supported tools including chatbots, interactive games, and adaptive feedback systems have been employed to create dynamic learning environments. The study highlights the benefits of this approach (for instance increased motivation, learner autonomy, inclusivity, and real-time feedback) while also addressing challenges like technological barriers, data privacy concerns, and cognitive overload. Practical examples and strategies are provided to illustrate how AI-enhanced gamification can support authentic language use, grammar acquisition, and collaborative learning. The paper concludes by proposing a sustainable and inclusive methodology for digital language education that combines pedagogical innovation with critical reflection

The article is an introduction to the study of the poetic world`s features of the outstanding representative of uncensored poetry of Leningrad Viktor Borisovich Krivulin (1944- 2001), his metrics, rhyme and stanza. Particular attention is paid to the poet’s sonnets and their numerous derivatives. The author of the article seeks to show that the analysis of different levels of the artistic structure of Krivulin’s verse decisively refutes the poet’s established reputation as a traditionalist author, demonstrates various aspects of his innovation in the field of poetic technique

Does It Still Make Sense to Invoke Trust between Democratic Citizens?

    No full text
In this paper we investigate the wide breach of trust between citizens and toward democratic institutions that has recently come about. We illustrate how trust has deteriorated over the last decades, and we differentiate among three social groups as the main agents prompting such a process, namely the establishment and the ruling classes, the not yet fully included minorities and oppressed groups and the left behind segment of the cultural majority. We posit that to mend socio-political and epistemic trust, the civic virtue of reasonableness is to play a role, yet not the role that ideal theory envisages for a just democracy of free and equal citizens. We contend that in non-ideal circumstances of contemporary democracies, reasonableness should not be cashed out as a homogeneous normative requirement that applies to all constituencies regardless of agents’ social positioning. Rather, the requirement of reasonableness ought to be declined in such a way as to take into account the varying social standings and different perspectives on justice and democracy voiced by citizens belonging to different social groups. The conclusion will be that in the present, non-ideal circumstances of democracy, the civic virtue of reasonableness may require to be displayed asymmetrically, since some members of the citizenry, given their privileged social positioning, have a weightier duty to be loyal to the democratic ethos. We conclude that a positive posture of reasonableness showed by the most privileged may, in the long run, possibly enhance the motivation to act reasonably also in other segments of the polity as well, fostering mutual trust and more stable societies
