Interactive application and user experience analysis for military-legal training
To smo dosegli z razvojem novega didaktičnega orodja in uvedbo sodobnih tehnologij, kot so virtualna resničnost in multimedijske vsebine. Za ovrednotenje končnega rezultata smo izvedli obsežen uporabniški eksperiment, s katerim smo pridobili vse pomembne podatke za analizo uporabniškega vmesnika in določitev prednosti in slabosti posameznih rešitev.
Cilj je posodobitev trenutnega stanja vojaško-pravnega izobraževanja, ki pravnikom omogoči dostop do kakovostnega izobraževanja in jih pripravi na hitro sprejemanje pomembnih odločitev in reševanje resničnih problemov.Rapid technological advancement affects all aspects of education, including military-legal training. This field is facing a lack of adequate visual materials that would help learners better understand complex legal situations.
The Legal Affairs Sector of Slovenian army turned to the Research and Simulation Unit, whose main task is modeling, simulation and visualization of various combat and non-combat military operations. Within the scope of this master’s thesis, we focused on the digitalization and modernization of the current military-legal education approach. This was achieved through the development of a new didactic tool and introduction of modern technologies, such as virtual reality and multimedia content. To evaluate the final outcome, we conducted an extensive user experiment, through which we collected all the essential data for analyzing the user interface and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the individual solutions.
The goal is to modernize the current state of military-legal education, providing legal professionals with access to high-quality training and preparing them for rapid decision-making and the resolution of real-world problems
Pripovedna empatija v izbranih zbirkah sodobne slovenske kratke pripovedi
This article examines narrative empathy by understanding narrative emotions as a special aspect of narrative form in selected collections of contemporary Slovenian short stories: Polona Glavan’s Gverilci (Guerrillas, 2004), Andrej Blatnik’s Zakon želje (The Law of Desire, 2000), and Dušan Čater’s Džehenem (Gehenna, 2010). The analysis of the presence of narrative emotions in the short stories has shown that the dialogues between the subjects or characters only seem superficial, and that, at the level of communication, they are mainly processes of minimalist ellipticity
This article explores the autofictional work Toxic by Eva Mahkovic, which deviates from contemporary Slovenian literary production primarily in its mode of creation and transfer into another medium (theater). The »selfautopsy« of emotions by the firstperson unreliable narrator, Eva Mahkovic, unfolds against the backdrop of pop culture, which Toxic trivializes. The emotions that appear in the narrative text belong to toxic emotions (anger, envy, jealousy, and shame), whereas in the stage performance, love, sadness, and happiness come to the fore
Oblike sramu v sodobni slovenski pripovedi
This article draws on some observations about changes in Slovenian literature. It is based on the theory of metamodernism, which stimulated the emergence of new aesthetic currents (new sincerity and the aesthetics of quirky and awkwardness) in the twentyfirst century in capitalist societies. From an emotional perspective, the common traits of these currents concern the merger, transcendence, and oscillation between irony and sincerity, between melancholy and hope, and between shame and shamelessness. The article uses selected works by Slovenian writers as examples to present forms of sincerity, awkwardness, and shame
Verification of Compliance of Personal Protective Equipment – Live Working Gloves
Personal protective equipment is a fundamental element of ensuring occupational safety and health, especially when working under voltage, where there is an increased risk of electric shock. This thesis addresses the identification of hazards associated with the use of insulating gloves during live working, highlighting the effects of wear, material ageing, improper storage, and potential manufacturing defects. On this basis, risk control is presented through the application of the EN 60903 standard, which defines the requirements for electrical testing of insulating gloves, particularly dielectric strength testing and leakage current measurement. The experimental part includes the implementation of standardized electrical tests on insulating gloves of different voltage classes and an analysis of the measured results with respect to the limit values defined by the standard. Based on the findings, measures are proposed to ensure the safe use of gloves, including testing before first use, periodic inspections, and proper handling and maintenance of personal protective equipment. The thesis thus comprehensively connects the technical requirements of standards with the assurance of occupational safety and health
Visualization of 3D ultrasound uterine data in virtual reality
Virtual reality (VR) has emerged as a powerful medium for medical imaging visualization and training, ofering immersive and interactive experiences that complement conventional two-dimensional (2D) imaging worklows. In gynecology, ultrasound (US) is the primary imaging modality for assessing uterine morphology, yet its interpretation requires signiicant spatial reasoning and is challenging for trainees with limited clinical exposure. This paper presents a standalone VR system for interactive visualization of uterine US volumes, designed for deployment on Meta Quest 2. The system integrates three core components: (i) textured surface meshes mapped directly from US intensity values, (ii) per-vertex deviation heatmaps comparing individual anatomy to a population-average uterus, and (iii) orthogonal slice browsing with adjustable transfer functions and lookup tables. The system is developed in Unity for immersive rendering. Preliminary demonstrations indicate that providing outside- and inside-based views improves spatial understanding and provides educational value by contextualizing individual variability. Performance proiling conirms real-time rendering on standalone hardware, ensuring luid interaction without tethered computing resources. By unifying segmentation-driven shape analysis with immersive visualization, this work highlights the potential of lightweight VR applications to enhance gynecological training and provide accessible platforms for medical education and research
Vloga in pomen čustvenega opismenjevanja: problemska in problematična literatura
This article explores the importance of emotional and social literacy in portraying sensitive issues in children’s literature, with a particular focus on the theme of child sexual abuse. The following research questions are identified as particularly important: How do literary texts contribute to the development of empathy and ethical reflection? To what extent do literary texts place the child at the center of the narrative? Do verbal and visual elements support or hinder emotional awareness? The methodology used is based on the literary analysis of selected picture books with traumatic content, including O povodnem možu (The Riverman), Punčka in velikan (The Little Girl and the Giant), Kiko in roka (Kiko and the Hand), Sad Book, Rdeče jabolko (Red Apple), and Modra (Blue). Literature that does not place the child at the center of the narrative runs the risk of losing its educational and ethical credibility. The article argues that there is a connection between literary aesthetics and ethical responsibility, and it develops a holistic model for teaching emotional and social literacy
Development of a Web Application for User Experience Research Operations in Mobile Gaming Using Quasar and Vue Frameworks
V diplomskem delu je predstavljen razvoj spletne aplikacije, namenjene podpori procesom raziskovanja uporabniške izkušnje (user experience - UX) v industriji mobilnih iger. V fazi implementacije so bile razvite ključne funkcionalnosti za množični uvoz podatkov, filtriranje nabora udeležencev in varno obveščanje s sporočili SMS z uporabo robnih funkcij (angl. Edge Functions). Celoten razvojni proces se je zaključil s preizkušanjem aplikacije v podjetju, kjer so s pomočjo strukturiranih vprašalnikov preverjali učinkovitost, preprostost in uporabnost rešitve. Rezultati so potrdili uspešnost zastavljenega cilja in izboljšanje delovnega toka raziskovalne ekipe, končni izdelek pa predstavlja trdno osnovo za nadaljnji razvoj procesov v podjetju. This diploma thesis presents the development of a web application designed to support user experience (UX) research processes in the mobile gaming industry. The main objective of the project was to optimise participant panel management and the organisation of testing processes, addressing data fragmentation and the lack of specialised tools. The preparation process included an initial analysis of existing market tools and the collection of user requirements, which formed the basis for the solution. Based on this analysis, a technology stack comprising the Vue.js framework, the Quasar library, and the Supabase platform for backend services was selected. During implementation, key functionalities were developed for mass data import, participant filtering, and secure SMS notifications using Edge Functions. The entire development process concluded with application testing in a company environment, where the efficiency, simplicity, and usability of the solution were verified through structured questionnaires. The results confirmed the achievement of the set goals and an improvement in the research team\u27s workflow, while the final product provides a solid foundation for further development of processes within the company
Managing long-term sick leave and facilitating the return of employees to work
Magistrska naloga preučuje problematiko zaposlenih oseb v dolgotrajnem bolniškem staležu in potrebne spremembe v slovenski zakonodaji in praksi delodajalcev, ki vodijo k skrajšanju bolniških staležev in zamejevanju negativnih posledic zdravstvenega absentizma. Slednji povzroča izpad števila delovnih dni, manjšo produktivnost gospodarstva ter povečanje izdatkov za izplačevanje nadomestil plače. Magistrska naloga vključuje vzroke in posledice zdravstvenega absentizma. The master\u27s thesis examines the issue of employees on long-term sick leave and the necessary changes in Slovenian legislation and employer practices that would lead to a shortening of sick leave periods and limit the negative consequences of health-related absenteeism. The latter causes a loss of working days, lower economic productivity, and increased expenditure on compensation for sick leave. The master\u27s thesis covers the causes and consequences of health-related absenteeism. It also contains an overview of the applicable Slovenian legislation, international treaties, Slovenian case law, and proposed legislative changes governing sick leave, the assessment of work capacity, and the corresponding rights in the event of reduced or lost work capacity. Based on professional literature and regulations in some other EU member states, the author argues that shortening sick leave would enable the implementation of measures to restore working capacity at an early stage of sick leave (if this would be beneficial in view of the person\u27s health condition), more effective cooperation between the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia (ZZZS) and the Pension and Disability Insurance Institute of Slovenia (ZPIZ) in assessing work capacity, combining vocational and employment rehabilitation into a single procedure, which should be promoted as a fundamental measure for returning to work, cooperation between employers and occupational health practitioners in measures for returning to work in the early stages of sick leave and shortening waiting times in the Slovenian healthcare system. Employers play an important role, as they can reduce absenteeism among employees through preventive measures for safe and healthy work
Učinkovitost poučevanja evolucije človeka pri 14-do 15-letnikih v Sloveniji
In Slovenia, human evolution is first taught in biology classes to 14–15-year-old students. For many of them, this will be the only contact with this topic at school. The objective was to determine how much knowledge students acquired about human evolution. Data were collected with a questionnaire using a 5-point Likert scale. The participants were 13–14-year-olds who had not yet learned about human evolution (the control group) and 15–16-year-olds who had learned about human evolution one year earlier in biology classes (the experimental group). The results show that students significantly improved their knowledge of human evolution with small to medium effect sizes. Students knew very well that modern humans are the only species of humans today and that they did not live at the same time as dinosaurs. The achievements were low on the following topics: modern humans lived at the same time as Neanderthals and mammoths, and modern humans did not evolve from Neanderthals. To the problematic topics, attention should be paid to teacher education and the primary school curriculum. There were few correlations between the knowledge of human evolution, acceptance of evolution, religiosity, and attitudes toward biology
