Moč razvojne biblioterapije v čustvenem doživljanju otrok in mladostnikov
Bibliotherapy is a nondirective counseling method that counselors and therapists use as a supportive method in a clinical setting. This presentation focuses on the use of reading in nonclinical contexts, where it is called guided reading, directed reading, reading advice, or bibliocounseling. This type of bibliotherapy, also called developmental bibliotherapy, is aimed at the healthy part of the personality, whereby what is read can trigger changes in an individual’s life or the content read has a preventive effect. In schools, developmental bibliotherapy is an alternative way of presenting current life challenges that children and adolescents face because it allows them to gain insight into the experiences of others and establishes a model for dealing with hardships and challenges. In developmental bibliotherapy, one can use literature with moral dilemmas, an indepth psychological approach, real characters of people, or diverse cultural backgrounds, taking into account gender representation. Reading literature allows identification with characters, and consequently emotional involvement, and it stimulates individuals’ personal growth

Prevalence of different types of dermal filler usage in Slovenia and public awareness of potential risks
Z razvojem tehnologije so postala mehansko stabilnejša, varnejša in estetsko predvidljivejša.
V teoretičnem delu smo predstavili zgradbo kože, procese staranja in delovanje najpogosteje uporabljanih polnil. Dermal fillers are widely used in non-surgical aesthetic medicine. Their increasing popularity has brought questions regarding safety and awareness of their adverse effects. They are categorized as Class III medical devices and are injected into different layers of the skin or subcutaneous tissue to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and reshape facial contours. Several types of fillers are used, the most common being hyaluronic acid fillers and biostimulatory fillers that boost collagen production. Technological developments have led to increased safety, better mechanical stability, and more consistent aesthetic results. Particular attention in this thesis was devoted to potential adverse effects, which range from transient local reactions to rarer but severe complications such as vascular occlusion, infection, or long-term tissue changes.
The aim of the research was to find out prevelance of the use of dermal fillers in Slovenia, why people decide to use them or avoid them, and how well they know the risks. According to the findings, around one-third of people, primarily those between the ages of 26 and 35, had previously used dermal fillers. Improving appearance was the most common reason for the procedure, and most commonly treated areas were the lips and nasolabial fold. Most users were satisfied with the results, although a quarter reported adverse effects, especially swelling and bruising at the injection site. Participants who had never used fillers most often stated that they were satisfied with their appearance, were afraid of complications, or did not like the idea of an unnatural look. Additionally, we conducted an interview with dermatologist Dr. Vesna Tlaker, who discussed the significance of clinical competence, selecting appropriate fillers, and early detection of complications. She also drew attention to procedures performed outside medical settings and the risks linked to unregistered products or self-injection. The findings show that dermal fillers are relatively well known in Slovenia, but the risks are still sometimes underestimated, which suggests that more awareness is needed
Martin Pegius (1519–1592)
Znanstvena monografija Martin Pegius (1519–1592) Življenje in delo kranjskega učenega pravnika, avtorja dr. Janez Kranjc. The monograph Martin Pegius (1519–1592) Life and Work of the Learned Lawyer from Carniola, authored by dr. Vid Žepič, assistant professor and researcher at the Chair of Legal History, Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, examines the life and oeuvre of the most prominent lawyer from the territory of present-day Slovenia in the early modern period. The author first presents the legal conditions in Salzburg and Bavaria during the first half of the 16th century. This contextualization is necessary because Martin Pegius left his native Carniola at a young age, studied in Bavaria, and subsequently served the Archbishopric of Salzburg until the decline of his career, which ended with accusations of divulging official secrets and practicing witchcraft. The second part of the book, which focuses on Pegius’ biography, places particular emphasis on the final years of his life. The central section of the book is devoted to presenting his published works, which cover law, astrology, rhetoric, and healing practices. The author examines not only works reliably attributed to Pegius but also devotes nearly equal attention to texts ascribed to him in the 18th century. The text is supported by excerpts from Pegius’ writings in the original language and in Slovene translation, and is enriched with numerous illustrations and annotations. The book also includes a bibliography of Pegius’ works and an extensive summary in German. The foreword is written by Emeritus Professor Dr. Janez Kranjc. The work will be of interest primarily to legal scholars, historians, and enthusiasts of regional literature. Due to Pegius’ engagement with rhetoric, astronomy, and healing, the book is also indispensable for anyone studying the development of these fields in the region. Pegius, whose statue stands in front of the main entrance of the Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana, has become one of its symbols, making this book a welcome read for students of Slovenia’s largest law faculty
Self–legitimacy of prison officers and treatment workers
Self-legitimacy refers to the authority’s belief in the ability to exercise entrusted power in accordance with the moral values of society. In the prison environment, prison workers’ positive perception of self-legitimacy is crucial for the effective implementation of demanding tasks of treatment of prisoners. In the study, we focus on comparing the perceptions of self-legitimacy of prison officers and treatment workers in Slovenian prisons in two time periods. Representative samples of prison workers were obtained from all Slovenian prisons and a correctional in 2016 and 2022. The purpose of the study is to highlight variables associated with the self-legitimacy of prison officers and treatment workers, define the differences and similarities in the perception of self-legitimacy between the groups, and verify the (un)stable nature of legitimacy over a longer period of time. The results of the statistical analyses (descriptive statistics, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analyses) showed that there are minor differences in the variables that correlate with the self-legitimacy of prison officers and treatment workers. In both groups, relations with prisoners and the subculture of prison staff correlated with self-legitimacy. Relationships with colleagues also correlated with prison officers’ perception of self-legitimacy, while the level of achieved education correlated with the self-legitimacy of treatment workers. In both groups, the perception of one’s own legitimacy was influenced by the time component, which was reflected in the changing factors influencing self-legitimacy in different time periods
Analysis of methods for efficient point removal from a piecewise linear curve
V računalniški grafiki in sorodnih aplikacijah veliki nabori podatkov pogosto vodijo do daljših časov nalaganja. In computer graphics and related applications, large datasets often lead to increased loading times. In many cases, however, not all data points are required for further processing, which allows the use of data reduction techniques. One such approach is the simplification of linear curve segments through point removal methods.
This thesis presents a comparative analysis of four point removal algorithms: Visvalingam–Whyatt, Reumann–Witkam, Lang, and Zhao–Saalfeld. The methods are evaluated using the border of Slovenia as a reference dataset. The evaluation focuses on approximation quality and computational performance. To examine the scalability of the algorithms, the experiments are repeated on datasets of different sizes. Furthermore, the behavior of the algorithms is analyzed on a curve containing a self-intersection
Recent advances in automatic term extraction
Automatic terminology or term extraction (ATE) is a Natural Language Processing (NLP) task intended to automatically identify specialized terms present in domain-specific corpora. As units of knowledge in a speciic ield of expertise, extracted terms are not only beneicial for several terminographical tasks, but also support and improve several complex downstream tasks, e.g., information retrieval, machine translation, topic detection, and sentiment analysis. ATE systems and datasets annotated for the task at hand have been studied and developed for decades, but more recent approaches have increasingly involved novel neural systems. Despite a large amount of new research on ATE tasks, systematic survey studies covering novel neural approaches are lacking, especially when it comes to the usage of large-scale language models (LLMs). We present a comprehensive survey of neural approaches to ATE, focusing on transformer-based neural models and the recent generative approaches based on LLMs. The study also compares these systems and previous ML-based approaches, which employed feature engineering and non-neural supervised learning algorithms
Retrieval-augmented generation for exploring historical parliamentary corpora
Zgodovinski parlamentarni zapisniki so dragoceni viri za razumevanje političnih in družbenih procesov preteklosti, vendar je raziskovanje po obsežnih korpusih časovno zahtevno. V diplomski nalogi raziskujemo uporabo s poizvedovanjem obogatenega generiranja (RAG) za iskanje in odgovarjanje na vprašanja nad korpusom zapisnikov kranjskega deželnega zbora (1861–1913) in narodnega predstavništva Kraljevine Jugoslavije (1919–1939). Korpus vsebuje besedila v slovenščini, nemščini, hrvaščini in srbščini. Primerjali smo različne strategije segmentacije besedila, metode vektorskega vstavljanja, tehnike iskanja in generativne modele z odprtimi licencami. Historical parliamentary records are valuable sources for understanding political and social processes of the past, yet exploring large corpora remains time-consuming. This thesis investigates the use of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for querying and answering questions over a corpus of session records from the Carniolan Provincial Assembly (1861–1913) and the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1919–1939). The corpus contains texts in Slovenian, German, Croatian, and Serbian. We compared various text segmentation strategies, vector embedding methods, retrieval techniques, and open-source generative models. Results show that qwen3:8b achieves the best answer quality for both Slovenian and English questions, while gemma3:4b and llama3.1:8b offer a good balance between quality and speed. We also find that most models provide better support for English, which presents a challenge when applying RAG to less-resourced languages
A benchmark model for power system restoration studies
Recent widespread blackouts in Europe (e.g., the Iberian Peninsula) and worldwide (e.g., Chile) have highlighted the critical importance of robust restoration processes. Traditionally, restoration has relied on synchronous generators and predefined strategies, which have been only partially tested in practice and mainly evaluated with simulators capturing basic system dynamics. The changing grid environment raises question of how these strategies can be further improved. The increasing dominance of inverter-based resources introduces reduced inertia, new dynamic interactions, and greater uncertainty from variable renewable generation. This motivates a re-evaluation and new study of existing restoration approaches. International efforts have proposed updated restoration guidelines and explored advanced technologies such as battery energy storage systems, grid-forming inverters, and high-voltage direct current systems. Yet, despite the growing importance of managing dynamics in the delicate restoration phase, field testing remains limited. This highlights the need for a benchmark restoration model. As a first step toward such a model, this paper reviews existing restoration processes, identifies technical challenges, and develops a simulation framework including key network components typically available during restoration. The model enables scenario-based testing of both conventional and advanced strategies, supporting a better understanding of dynamic behaviour and system stability. The proposed model has been implemented for EMT and RMS simulations using both commercial tools (PowerFactory, PSCAD) and non-commercial tools under development. By providing a flexible platform, it bridges the gap between research and practice, supporting system operators, researchers, and policymakers in designing more resilient and adaptive restoration strategies for future power systems
