A hybrid HMM model for travel path inference with sparse GPS samples
No full textIn this study, we propose a novel method for a travel path inference problem from sparse GPS trajectory data. This problem involves localization of GPS samples on a road network and reconstruction of the path that a driver might have been following from a low rate of sampled GPS observations. Particularly, we model travel path inference as an optimization problem in both the spatial and temporal domains and propose a novel hybrid hidden Markov model (HMM) that uses a uniform cost search (UCS)-like novel combinational algorithm. We provide the following improvements over the previous studies that use HMM-based methods: (1) for travel path inference between matched GPS positions, the proposed hybrid HMM algorithm evaluates all candidate paths to find the most likely path for both the temporal and spatial domains. In contrast, previous studies either create interpolated trajectories or connect matched GPS positions using the shortest path assumption, which might not be true, especially in urban road networks (Goh et al. 2012; Lou et al. 2009). (2) The proposed algorithm uses legal speed limits for the evaluation of discrepancy in the temporal domain as in Goh et al. (2012), and Lou et al. (2009) only if there is not sufficient historical average speed data; otherwise, we use historical average speed computed from data. Our experiments with real datasets show that our algorithm performs better than the state of the art VTrack algorithm (Thiagarajan et al. 2009), especially for cases where GPS data is sampled infrequently

of Obligations No. 6098. Due to certain fundamental differences,
this phenomenon has been examined under a separate heading, as
there are similar institutions that can be confused with the partici-
pation of borrowing in our law. In this article we will examine not
only the concept of joining borrowing but also how and under what
circumstances our law is enforced and the differences between si-
milar institutions. Besides an examination has been made in order to
consider the general characteristics of the participation agreement.

politik ve bilimsel mecralarda, çeşitli başlıklar altında tartışıldığı söylenebilir. Bu
mecralardan bazıları cami sayıları, cami tasarımı, tasarımda mimarların rolleridir. Bu
makalede, Van İl Müftülük arşivi verilerine göre 1941 yılından 2013 yılı sonuna kadar
Van ili merkez ilçelerinde kayıtlı 234 camiye odaklanılmıştır. Araştırma malzemesi
olarak il müftülüğünde yer alan matbu evraklar ve camilere ait çeşitli istatistiki veriler
analiz edilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Mimarlık araştırmalarında yer bulamayan müftülük
kayıtları gibi veri setleri önemli bilgiler içermektedir. Yıllara göre Van cami sayılarının
artış-azalış oranları, yaptıranlara göre camiler, camilerin mülkiyet durumları ve mimarı
belirtilmiş olan - mimarı bilinmeyen camiler gibi istatistikler bu veriler üzerinden
çıkarılabilmektedir. Makalede her biri ayrı ayrı sonuçlar üreten istatistikler
yorumlanmıştır. Mimarların rolleri bakımından ise önemli bir veri ile karşılaşılmaktadır.
İncelenen matbu evraklara göre 234 camiden 194’ünün (%82,9) mimarı belli değildir.
Camilerden 40 tanesinin (%17,1) mimarlar tarafından projelendirildiği görülmektedir.
Bahse konu 40 camiyi tasarlayan 28 mimar tespit edilmiştir. Bunların içinde 2 ve üzeri
sayıda cami tasarlayan 6 mimar ve 18 cami üzerinde özellikle durulmuştur. Sonuç
olarak Van ili merkez ilçelerindeki camiler, Türkiye’de cami tasarımında mimar
emeğine yeterince başvurulmadığını göstermektedir
RF circuit ımplementation of a real-time frequency spread emulator
No full text— Despite their reliability, on-site measurements are timeconsuming
and costly actions for the evaluation of new devices. Channel
emulators are widely utilized measurement instruments to generate
desired environmental channel effects in laboratory environments. Within
these instruments, baseband emulators are expensive, and reverberation
chambers provide limited control of the channel. However, radiofrequency
(RF) circuit implementation of channel emulators provides
an affordable and easy tool to test performances of new systems and
methods under different channel effects. In this paper, a new RF domain
Doppler emulator, which is compact and easy to control, is presented
for measuring signal characteristics under frequency dispersive channel
conditions. The circuit has been implemented using variable attenuators,
switches, and power splitters to emulate the Doppler spread of air-ground
channels, and the performance is evaluated through measurements. It is
observed that the emulator indeed generates the desired Doppler model
close enough to replicate environmental channels for mobile applications
in laboratory environments
Simulation and experimental tests of ballistic impact on composite laminate armor
Get PDFThis paper presents the experimental testing and simulation results of ballistic impact tests on laminated armor samples that consist of three layers of different materials: fiber-cement, Kevlar fabric, and steel. In experimental tests, a 9 mm FMJ bullet was launched towards a 100 cm(2) sample of the armor from the fiber-cement side. Ansys Workbench Explicit Dynamics and Ansys AUTODYN 3D were used to model and simulate the ballistic impact. Experimental testing and simulation results were compared to analyze the behavior of composite armor designs, and a good agreement was observed

Schema therapy for pervasive and chronic life problems: A hermeneutic single-case efficacy design study
No full textThis study examines Schema Therapy (ST) within a framework inspired by the adjudicated
hermeneutic single-case efficacy design. The client was a nineteen-year-old female college
student, suffering from chronic life problems and cluster of related issues. She was evaluated
as using quantitative and qualitative data. Based on these data, affirmative and sceptical
arguments were developed about whether the observed change could be attributed to ST, or
not. Three adjudicators concluded that the client substantially progressed over the course of
therapy. Both the client and the adjudicators emphasized that the experiential techniques and
therapeutic relationship, which are prominent features of ST, were effective in her treatment
process
