Adaptation of transdiagnostic CBT for Turkish adolescents:examples from culturally adapted multiplex CBT
The present study aims to explore the nature of age and sex differences in personality constructs throughout the young adulthood; particularly differences on personality traits and interpersonal problems, on the basis of the five-factor model and the interpersonal circumplex model. The sample consisted of 514 participants from Turkey, 257 of whom were male, and 257 were female whose ages varied from 18 to 35 (M = 24.92). To strengthen the study results, participants in the sample were individually matched on both sex and age; so that there were same number of females and males at the same age. Results indicated that men were stronger in terms of openness and hostile-dominance, whereas women were stronger in neuroticism and agreeableness traits. Regarding age differences, conscientiousness had a significant increasing pattern whereas hostile-dominance had a significant decreasing pattern with aging throughout young adulthood. Implications of the findings were discussed in line with the literature considering stability versus change debate, and gender issues in personality within a cultural and developmental context
A look back at the 2011 Arab revolts: The last wave of democratization, a function of capitalism, or a challenge to neoliberalism? A multi-factor analysis
The 2011 Arab revolts have often been explained in a somewhat reductionist manner as the last
chapter of Huntington’s democratization waves and a celebrated march toward secular-liberal democracy, or
as part of a world-wide revolt against neo-liberal capitalism, or simply as a function of the global expansion
of capitalism. Rather than reducing these complex events to a single overarching factors, this article argues
instead that they are better understood with reference to an interplay between global developments (changes in the international politico-military context) and local politico-economic, psychological, and cultural
influences. I demonstrate this argument by focusing, from a macro-sociological perspective, on the major
political-economic, technological, cultural, and psychological factors that helped shape the Arab revolts.
These include people’s reactions to inequality, lack of economic opportunities, and their demand for economic justice on the one hand, and their more general aspirations for social and political liberties and justice
on the other. The article also addresses the impact of information and communications technologies (ICTs)
on social mobilization and of religion on individual and political culture, and it further argues that these
factors were complemented by people’s search for dignity (karama) in the face of frustration with oppression
as well as neoliberal social and economic policies
Book clubs as micro-public spheres: Translated literature and cosmopolitanism
This study seeks to analyze book group discussions on translated fiction in terms of micro public spheres. The paper explores the potentials of this perspective based on ethnographic data collected through participant observation with reading groups located across Britain. The discussion demonstrates the public sphere in operation beyond the confines of the book club meeting, where literature in translation provides fragments of cultural difference and where the aesthetic-affective mode facilitates open dialogue, contributing to critical-reflexive understanding. The article illustrates the interplay of the normative and the actual aspects of the public sphere through the tension between cosmopolitanism in contemporary cultural consumption and the entertainment value of essentialist representations. The contribution points to the nexus between translation and intercultural communication

Türkiye standartlarına uygun blokzincir tabanlı diploma yönetimi
Organization's stamp or wet signature are used to approve and con rm the validity of important documents such as certi cate and diploma. However, in today's technology, it is quite easy to imitate stamps and signatures, produce documents like the original and very di cult to understand the fake ones. Because of such fraud many private and public institutions are employing unquali ed and unreliable employees. It is very di cult to verify institutions which issued these documents. In this study, the scope of the creation and validation of valuable documents was de ned by using blockchain technology. Also, examples in the World and the degree (diploma) management dimension in Turkey were discussed. Data structures in accordance with the standards and applied regulations in our country have been examined and requirements were determined. Blockcerts solution working on blockchain architecture has been chosen according to the requirements. Classical methods for diploma veri cation in Turkey were also compared with equivalents in the World. Finally, a proved architecture was adapted as an alternative to Turkey's diploma verification structure.Abstract iii

Parametric guess and determine attack on stream ciphers
The need for lightweight cryptography for resource-constrained devices gained a great importance due to the rapid evolution and usage of IoT devices in the world. Although it has been common in the cryptology community that stream ciphers are more ecient in speed and area than symmetric block ciphers, it has been seen in the last 10-15 years that most of ciphers designed for resource-constrained devices to take up less area and less energy on hardware-based platforms, such as ASIC or FPGA, are lightweight symmetric block ciphers.
On the other hand, the design and analysis of stream ciphers using keyed internal update function is put forward against this belief and it has become one of the popular study subjects in the literature in the last few years. Plantlet, proposed in 2017, its predecessor Sprout, proposed in 2015 and Fruit proposed in 2016, are famous algorithms as instances of stream ciphers using keyed internal update function. Sprout was broken after a short time by many researchers but Plantlet hasn't been successfully broken yet and there has been only one attack mounted on Fruit since it was proposed.
Traditionally, key stream generators of stream ciphers update their internal states only by using their current internal state. Since the use of the key in the internal update is a new approach, the security analysis of this approach is not fully understood. In this study, the security analysis of the key stream generators with keyed update function has been studied. A new attack algorithm for internal state recovery and key recovery has been developed and mounted on Plantlet algorithm as an instance of stream ciphers with keyed update function. The state bits and key bits are successfully recovered. In the second phase, the attack algorithm was mounted on Fruit algorithm and state bits and key bits are also recovered successfully.Abstract iii

The relationship between visual avoidance, social anxiety and attachment styles in middle childhood
In this study the relationships between attachment styles, social anxiety and visual
avoidance have been investigated. The sample of the study consisted of 111
participant aged between 9-12. Social Anxiety Scale for Children, Kerns Security
Scale (KSS) and Experiences in Close Relationships Scale- Revised for children and
adolescents (ECR-RC) were used in the study. Results indicated that the anxious
attachment was correlated with social anxiety and visual avoidance. The findings
obtained from the research are discussed in the context of the existing findings in
the literature and how they can be used in clinical applications are discussed.Öz ................................................................................................................................ iv

Confiscating without expropriating according to decisions of the European Court of Human Rights
The subject of our thesis is the intervention of administration, to the property right
of private entities and the acts and proceedings of administration, in the form of
confiscating without expropriating. In the first part of our paper, the development
of confiscating without expropriating in the Turkish Law and in the second part
prejudications of ECHR regarding the confiscating without expropriating are
researched. Besides, in the second part, the Constitutional Court and Court of
Cassation decisions and the recommendations of the ombudsman are examined as
a result of the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights that lead to the
violation of the domestic law on the limitation of property rights. In this study, new
legal regulations are also included and it is explained how the lawfulness can be
remedied in case of violation of the right or protection of property right and which
jurisdiction may be more effective in eliminating the unlawful.Öz ................................................................................................................................. iv Abstract ......................................................................................................................... v İçindekiler ..................................................................................................................... vi

Türkiye'de İslamcılığın dönüşümünü yeniden düşünmek : Yolcu Dergisi örneği
This study explores the transformation of Islamism in Turkey since the ‘postmodern’
coup of February 28, 1997, and in particular, local Islamist groups in Anatolian cities,
which are studied within the case of Yolcu from Samsun. The first part of the study
examines what Islamism is and what it means to Muslims in Turkey, and also the
historical phases of Islamism in order to clarify the background of the concept. In the
second part, the 81 issues of Yolcu are analyzed by means of manifest and latent
content analysis and semi-structured interviews with the founding members/writers
of the magazine to demonstrate that Islamism has been transformed from rejection
of the phenomenon of the ‘state’ to ownership to it within two decades. The study is
mainly concentrated on the political side of the transformation and the questions are
prepared under five dimensions: The February 28 process, modernization, the
Kurdish question, religion and politics, and AK Party. This study has sought the
answers of ‘how’ question through analyzing the sections Seyir Defteri written by the
editor, İstikamet, Yolcu’nun Heybesi and Dipnot in the issues of Yolcu, and ‘why’
question through in-depth interviews. The main argument of this study is that
Islamism in Turkey has dramatically been transformed in terms of political perception
of the ‘state’ from a rejection of the ‘secular’ state to a “no state no religion”
argument.Abstract ....................................................................................................................... iv
