    Dedrobium Lucky Girl leaves position presented different cell membrane thermostability, respectively. It has enhancing the relative injury value when temperature exceeded 50ºC. In terms of silicon dioxide treatments decreased leaves ion leakage, malondialdehyde content, and existed higher chlorophyll content which evaluated by water bath temperature at 50ºC. Result not only presented higher root activity and chlorophyll SPAD value at 150 mg·L_–1 silicon dioxide treatment, but also showed more leaves at 300–600 mg·L_–1 silicon dioxide treatments during vegetative stage. Even though, silicon dioxide treatments had no significant difference among some horticultural characteristic, however it decreased flower bud abortion rate at 150 mg·L_–1 treatment

    The tensile properties and impact strength of wood flour–polypropylene composite with or without impact modifier and coupling agent have been investigated. The addition of maleic anhydride and dicumyl peroxide improved the tensile properties and impact strength. With increasing ethylene–propylene rubber (EPR) and maleic anhydride (MAH)–modified ethylene–propylene rubber (MEPR), impact strength were increased, whereas tensile strength and Young’s modulus were decreased. At the same EPR or MEPR content, the higher filler loadings resulted in higher Young’s modulus and lower impact strength.     The Characteristics of Rice Markets and Trade in Afghanistan: A Survey of The Major Commercial Rice Markets

    This paper explores the characteristics and working of Afghan rice markets, including rice imports from the overseas suppliers using primary data collected through a survey of the major provincial rice markets. Descriptive statistics, compound annual growth rates, Herfindahl–Hirschman Index and a double–log linear model are employed in the data analysis. The results underline several notable features of the rice markets in the country. Kabul rice market is leading the remaining markets in the majority of selected indicators. The surplus and deficit markets of local rice appear to be segregated as the availability and trade of local rice is largely concentrated in the markets closer to major rice producing provinces. As compared to imported rice, local rice may be price competitive but not quality competitive. Moreover, the domestic value chain of paddy–rice is very short at present. Moderate to strong market concentration along with the influence of big traders may exist in the major provincial rice markets. The demand of traders for rice imports may be explained by their cumulative experiences in the rice business, purchasing power of imported rice and transfer costs, among others
