Cognitive Destination Image and Tourist Satisfaction: The Case of the Fruit Festival in Thailand
This research study aims to examine the association between cognitive destination image (CDI) attributes and tourist satisfaction. Data for the present research work was attained from a sample of tourists at Sisaket Fruit Festival/ Thailand. Participants self-managed the questionnaires. A total number of 110 usable questionnaires were collected in the survey context. Bootstrapping technique by Partial Least Square-PLS in conjunction with SPSS 23 was used to analyze the data. The path analyses show that the CDI attributes were found positively related to tourist satisfaction at different levels. Additionally, based on the analyses of demographic comparisons, foreign tourists were found to be more satisfied with the festival through their participation in the study was much less than the Thai tourists. Public jobholders were more satisfied compared to the private jobholders and the student participants. This study contributes to tourism literature and has helpful implications for the industry in terms of developing fruit festivals and fairs
EDIBLE FILM PRODUCTION WITH ALOE VERA EXTRACT AND ITS PRINTABILITY

Hydroxyethyl cellulose, with –OH in the natural cellulose molecule substituted by a hydroxyethyl group, has been widely used in oil exploitation, coating, medicine, food and polymerization process. It is nontoxic and low-cost. Aloe vera is a well-known herbal plant that is used for its therapeutic properties. The gel extracted from Aloe vera plants contains a variety of biologically active compounds, phenolic contents, and minerals. In this study, the edible films containing different proportions of aloe vera and hydroxyl ethyl cellulose were prepared. The structural and antibacterial properties of the obtained edible films were examined. The obtained films were printed with inkjet. Color and adhesion properties of printed samples were determined and it was observed that the edible films showed antibacterial properties. © 2022 Authors
COVID-19 in elderly: Correlations of viral load, clinical course, laboratory parameters, among patients vaccinated with CoronaVac
SARS-CoV-2 virus was initially identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019 and a global pandemic was declared in March 2020 by World Health Organization. COVID-19 disease is characterized with severe pneumonia and hypoxemia, especially in the elderly population. The elderly population was primarily vaccinated with CoronaVac, which is a whole virion inactivated vaccine (Sinovac Biotech, China) in Turkey. This study aimed to investigate the association of viral load and laboratory parameters with the severity of the disease and vaccination status in elderly (older than 60 years old) COVID-19 patients. The age range of the patients was 61-97 years old with a mean of 71.80. Vaccinated patients had a lower viral load (P 5 0.253) in nasopharyngeal swabs during breakthrough COVID-19 infection compared to unvaccinated ones and were hospitalized for a shorter period of time in hospital wards (P 5 0.035). A lower number of patients were vaccinated in both moderate (n 5 33, 29.20%) and severe/critical group (n 5 46, 34.07%) (P 5 0.412). Only 17 (32.08%) vaccinated patients were hospitalized in an intensive care unit (ICU), whereas 36 (67.92%) of the ICU patients were unvaccinated (P 5 0.931). Severe/critical patients had higher c-reactive protein (CRP), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), fibrinogen, ferritin, and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels compared to the moderate group on the admission day (P < 0.05). Our study suggested that elderly patients vaccinated with CoronaVac had a shorter stay in hospitals and according to our results CRP, PLR, fibrinogen, ferritin, and LDH levels could be used to determine the severity of the infections
Performance, Egg Quality, and Yolk Antioxidant Capacity of the Laying Quail in Response to Dietary Choline Levels
Simple Summary Adequate dietary nutrient intake is essential for optimal performance in poultry production. In recent years, improvements in animal genetics have led to changes in animal nutrition requirements. Consequently, livestock nutrient requirements must be periodically reevaluated. Choline is an essential nutrient for poultry and its deficiency causes developmental and health problems. Choline requirements for laying quail are based on previous recommendations and require new research. This study aimed to determine the ideal dose of choline for laying quails based on their productive development and egg quality. A dose of 1500 mg/kg of choline was determined to be sufficient to maintain egg quality and performance of laying quails. Nevertheless, 3500 mg/kg of choline would be required in the diet to observe improvements in egg antioxidant capacity. The current study determined the ideal dose of choline in the diet of laying quails based on egg development, egg quality, and antioxidant capacity. A total of 120 female quails (244.7 +/- 10.38 g) were randomly assigned to 6 experimental groups with 5 replicates of 4 quails each. In the 10-week trial, treatment diets were formed by adding 6 choline chloride-60% concentrations providing 1500 (control), 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, and 4000 mg/kg of choline. The feed intake of quails was quadratically affected (p < 0.05) by the choline level of the diet, in other developmental parameters, and by egg quality among these treatments. The feed intake was reduced to 2500 and 3000 mg/kg levels of choline in the diet compared to the control group. Free radical scavenging capacity (DPPH) of the yolk increased linearly (p < 0.001) with dietary choline levels. In contrast, the thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) value decreased as dietary choline levels increased, except for 4000 mg/kg levels. Based on the findings of the current study, 1500 mg/kg of dietary choline is adequate to maintain performance parameters and egg quality in laying quails. However, to increase egg antioxidant capacity, in terms of the DPPH value, the dietary choline dose needs to be increased to 3500 mg/kg
Syntaxonomy and vegetation-environment relationships in Mount Akdag (Amasya/Turkiye)
In this study, vegetation-environment relationships, species, and syntaxonomic diversity in Akdag, located in the transition zone to the Euxin of the Central Iran-Turanian floristic region, were investigated using classical Braun-Blanquet and multivariate methods. A total of thirteen plant associations and two sub-associations were identified and classified in the study area. Three new plant associations and two new sub-associations belonging to the forest were described and classified. Seven new mountain steppe and one new coniferous cushion scrub associations were also identified and classified. Relationships between vegetation and environmental factors were evaluated using canonical correspondence analysis. Raunkiaer life form ratios, Shannon-Wiener index values, and the chorological spectrum of syntaxa were calculated and interpreted. Monocyte and neutrophil to high density lipoprotein cholesterol ratios are elevated in patients with vitamin D deficiency
Aim: It is suggested that Vitamin D deficiency may lead to cardiovascular diseases. Monocyte-High density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) ratio (MHR) and Neutrophil-HDL ratio (NHR) are markers which may be used as cardiovascular risk factors, which are associated with inflammation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the MHR and NHR levels in patients with Vitamin D deficiency. Material and Method: This retrospective study included patients who were tested for Vitamin D levels in our clinic. The subjects were separated into two groups based on their Vitamin D levels and laboratory variables including MHR and NHR were compared. Results: The subjects with serum 25 OH D level lower and higher than 20 ng/ml were compared, and MHR and NHR were detected significantly higher in subjects with Vitamin D deficiency (p:0.003 and p<0.001). Conclusion: Our study indicates for the first time in the literature that MHR and NHR levels increase in Vitamin D deficiency. Our findings suggest that the cardiovascular risk which occurs in Vitamin D deficiency may be associated with the observed increased inflammation. It was detected that MHR and NHR ratios may be used to predict cardiovascular diseases in people with Vitamin D deficiency. Our study also showed that the increased cardiovascular risk which occurs in vitamin D deficiency may be associated with the increased inflammation
Some fixed point results via auxiliary functions on orthogonal metric spaces and application to homotopy
In 2017, the concepts of orthogonal set and orthogonal metric spaces are presented. And an extension of Banach fixed point theorem is proved in this type metric spaces. Further in 2019, on orthogonal metric spaces, some fixed point theorems via altering distance functions are investigated. In this paper, presence and uniqueness of fixed points of the generalizations of contraction principle via auxiliary functions are investigated. And some consequences and an illustrative example are presented. On the other hand, homotopy theory constitute an important area of algebraic topology, but the application of fixed point results in orthogonal metric spaces to homotopy has not been done until now. As a different application in this field, the homotopy application of the one of the corollaries is given at the end of this paper
Phenolic Compounds, Dyeing Potential, and Cytotoxic Activity of Alkanna orientalis L. Boiss (Boraginaceae)
Dyeing of cotton, viscose, wool, and polyester/viscose blended fabrics has been carried out with the aqueous extract of the roots of Alkanna orientalis plant. Fastness properties and color strength values were investigated in terms of users. Phenolic compounds and cytotoxic activities of ethanol (EtOH) and water extracts were determined. It was found that cotton fabric dyed with the aqueous extract of the roots of A. orientalis plant in the presence of alum mordant gave better depth of shade (K/S). The toxicity studies reveal that the EtOH and the water extracts of the root of A. orientalis exhibited 0% cytotoxicity while the standard cancer drug 5-fluorouracil exhibited 6% cytotoxicity. The overall results of this study show that the roots of A. orientalis can be used in the textile industry, especially for dyeing cotton fabrics
The quality of translation students' transcriptions for subtitling in healthcare settings
Subtitling in a community setting such as healthcare can satisfy the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) members of the community. It consists of a variety of stages such as transcription, spotting, translation and review. This qualitative study utilising content analysis aims to measure the quality of transcriptions by students of translation and interpreting (T&I) in Turkey as well as speech recognition tools against that of a native speaker. The data was analysed manually. The findings show that in transcribing authentic content on healthcare, student translators experienced challenges including parts of speech and textuality due to the lack of expertise in healthcare translation, poor bilingual skills as well as the speaker's pace and accent. Speech recognition tools produced better results than student translators, but occasionally had some discrepancies which can be attributed to such reasons as collocations and speaker-related issues. T&I students can be trained with the aid of speech recognition tools to make sure that transcriptions are done more effectively or post-editing skills are improved. Further studies can focus on students at varying levels of language or who have taken a course in AVT, on professional translators, or on other settings of community-based translation
