    Businesses, which provide the production and mediation of goods and services needed by the society, are organizations that have goals such as growth, development, making profit, establishing a sustainable structure, and realizing social responsibility projects. It is important for businesses to have a financially strong structure in order to achieve their goals. In order to establish a sustainable financial structure, analyzes are carried out with various methods using the historical data of the enterprises and future decisions are taken with these analysis outputs. One of the financial sustainability measures for businesses is performance measurement. In many academic studies in the literature, it is observed that Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods are used for financial performance measurement. With MCDM methods, companies are compared financially within themselves, by years and with the sector. This study was carried out to measure the financial performance of businesses operating in the BIST Paper and Paper Products Printing Sector. As a sample, the data of 9 companies operating in the BIST Paper and Paper Products Printing Sector were used. The financial ratios of the enterprises for the years 2016-2021 were obtained and the analysis was carried out with COPRAS and MOORA, which are MCDM methods. Using two analysis methods provides the opportunity to evaluate financial performance rankings from different perspectives. As a result of the study, the financial performance rankings of 9 companies in the sector were evaluated according to both methods

    The use of augmented reality has become increasingly important in education, and its applications are vastly used in many areas of education. Especially for individuals who need special education, augmented reality applications that detect their hands and bodies could be very applicable for teaching imitation, games, creative and motor skills. The purpose of the research is to determine the opinions of classroom teachers who have students with special education needs in their classes about the applied augmented reality given by the researchers. The phenomenology pattern, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. The research participants consist of eight classroom teachers who work in different schools in the central district of Amasya province and volunteered to participate in the research. In this research, the purposive sampling method was used, and a semi-structured interview form consisting of structured questions was prepared as the data collection tool within the scope of the study. Qualitative data analysis was used to analyze the data in the research, and the data was analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. Modelling, graphics, and matrices were used to present the data. The data obtained were categorized under five themes, namely “the concept of augmented reality,” “contribution of augmented reality to the learning process,” “the use of augmented reality in lessons and topics,” “the impact of augmented reality on learning,” “recommendations regarding the use of augmented reality.” Based on the research findings, it was concluded that the augmented reality application concretizes the teaching process, is effective in better understanding the lessons, makes the lessons fun and positively increases the students' motivation during the lesson. It is believed that this study will be so beneficial for classroom teachers.Artırılmış gerçekliğin öğretimde kullanımı önemli bir hale gelmiştir. Artırılmış gerçeklik uygulamaları eğitimin birçok farklı alanında kullanılmaya başlamıştır. Özellikle özel eğitime ihtiyacı olan bireyler için ellerini ve bedenlerini algılayan artırılmış gerçeklik uygulamaları taklit, oyun, motor ve yaratıcı beceriler için öğretimi için oldukça uygun olabilmektedir. Araştırmanın amacı; sınıfında özel eğitime ihtiyacı olan öğrenci bulunan sınıf öğretmenlerinin araştırmacılar tarafından verilen uygulamalı artırılmış gerçeklik eğitimine yönelik görüşlerini belirlemektir. Araştırmada, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgubilim deseninden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını, Amasya ilinin merkez ilçesine bağlı farklı okullarda görev yapan, araştırmaya katılmaya gönüllü olan sekiz sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırmada amaçlı örnekleme yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış sorulardan oluşan görüşme formu hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmada verilerin analizi için bir nitel veri analizi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi betimsel analiz yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin sunulmasında modelleme, grafik ve matrislerden yararlanılmıştır. Gerçekleştirilen analize göre elde edilen veriler 5 tema altında kategorilendirilmiştir. Bunlar: "Artırılmış gerçeklik kavramı, öğrenme sürecine katkısı, ders ve konularda kullanılması, öğrenmelere etkisi, artırılmış gerçekliğin kullanımı ile ilgili öneriler". Araştırmada bulgulara dayalı olarak artırılmış gerçeklik uygulamasının öğretim sürecini somutlaştırdığı, derslerin daha iyi anlaşılmasında etkili olduğu, dersleri eğlenceli hale getirdiği ve öğrencilerin ders esnasında motivasyonlarını olumlu yönde artırdığı gibi sonuçlara varılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın sınıf öğretmenleri için yararlı olacağı düşünülmektedir

    The Postgraduate Theses in ELT between 2019 and 2021: A Methodological Comparison

    The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the scientific research in educational sciences as almost all aspects of life since it broke out in China in late 2019. Research in English Language Teaching (ELT) has run across several problems, much like other science domains. Researchers may have encountered difficulties while trying to reach volunteers in their studies due to psychological or physiological complications. On the other hand, distance, or flexible face-to-face education in all the educational cycles may have led some researchers to spend more time conducting their studies. Considering these possible effects of the pandemic, the main purpose of this study is to explore ELT researchers’ methodological tendencies in their master’s theses and doctoral dissertations published pre (2019) and while (2020, 2021) pandemic in Türkiye. The sample consisted of 806 master’s theses and 128 doctoral dissertations. By using a grid and checklist, data was collected qualitatively by implementing the qualitative document analysis method. The collected data was analyzed quantitatively by using descriptive statistics. Although the number of theses and dissertations decreased during the pandemic, the findings indicated that researchers conducted more in-depth analyses. The study has significance for further researchers in that the findings have shown that they may need to do their research planning in a more adaptable way and have alternative plans in case of similar unusual situations on a large or small scale, like the pandemic. © 2023, Ozgen Korkmaz.     Reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the patellofemoral pain and osteoarthritis subscale of the KOOS

    Background: Patellofemoral pain and patellofemoral osteoarthritis are highly prevalent knee disorders associated with pain and functional limitations. The subscale of the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score for patellofemoral pain and osteoarthritis (KOOS-PF) was developed to evaluate patients with patellofemoral pain and osteoarthritis.Purpose: This study aims to translate the KOOS-PF into Turkish and assess its measurement properties.Methods: The Turkish version of the KOOS-PF was tested for reliability and validity in a convenience sample of 55 patients with patellofemoral pain and/or osteoarthritis. Reliability analyses were conducted through a retest 7-14 days later with a subgroup of 35 patients. The KOOS-PF was compared with Kujala's Anterior Pain Scale (AKPS) and the Short Form-36 health survey (SF-36) to assess construct validity. Additionally, responsiveness analyses were performed on 29 patients who were followed up with a home-based exercise program three months later.Results: The Turkish version of KOOS-PF has high test-retest reliability (ICC2,1 = 0.96) and internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.91). It has a very good correlation with the AKPS (r = 0.77) and the SF-36 physical component summary (r = 0.64) with no floor or ceiling effects. Responsiveness is confirmed by a good correlation with the global rating of change score (r = 0.51). The minimal clinically important change is 16.5 points, and the minimal important difference is 10.2.Conclusion: The Turkish version of the KOOS-PF is valid, reliable, and responsive for evaluating patients with patellofemoral pain and/or osteoarthritis

    Investigations of Spatial and Temporal Land Use/Land Cover Changes in Trabzon Province (1990-2018) Using CORINE Maps and Landscape Metrics

    In this study; it is aimed to analyze the temporal and spatial changes in land use/land cover of Trabzon province with the population increase in the 28-year period between 1990-2018 by analyzing it with CORINE maps and landscape metrics. Within the scope of the study, temporal variation analysis was carried out using CORINE maps of the years 1990, 2000, 2006, 2012 and 2018. In Trabzon, according to the CORINE classification system, a total of 4 main groups have been identified at the first level, and at the third level, 19 land use/land cover classes have been identified for 1990, 20 for 2000, 24 for 2006, and 26 for 2012 and 2018. It was observed that the most differentiation occurred in the agricultural areas class in the 28-year period. In addition, the metrics of class area (CA), number of patches (NumP), mean patch size (MPS), edge density (ED), total edge (TE) and mean shape index (MSI) were calculated through ARCGIS's Patch Analyst plugin in the study. The changes that have occurred have been examined. Accordingly, there has been a decrease in the size of forest and seminatural areas and agricultural areas with the increase in the size of the artificial surfaces due to the increase in human activities and population over the past 28 years. In addition, due to the continuous increase in the number of patches in the agricultural areas over time and the decrease in the average size of the patches, the fragmentation of the agricultural areas has been more common. The least change was in the water bodies. In line with the findings obtained, sustainable planning and land use suggestions for land use were presented

    Vertically oriented self-assembly of colloidal CdSe/CdZnS quantum wells controlled via hydrophilicity/lipophilicity balance: optical gain of quantum well stacks for amplified spontaneous emission and random lasing

    We propose and demonstrate vertically oriented self-assembly of colloidal quantum wells (CQWs) that allows for stacking CdSe/CdZnS core/shell CQWs in films for the purposes of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) and random lasing. Here, a monolayer of such CQW stacks is obtained via liquid-air interface self-assembly (LAISA) in a binary subphase by controlling the hydrophilicity/lipophilicity balance (HLB), a critical factor for maintaining the orientation of CQWs during their self-assembly. Ethylene glycol, as a hydrophilic subphase, orients the coalition of these CQWs into self-assembled multi-layers in the vertical direction. Stacking CQWs into large micron-sized areas as a monolayer is facilitated by adjusting HLB with diethylene glycol addition as a more lyophilic subphase during LAISA. ASE was observed from the resulting multi-layered CQW stacks prepared via sequential deposition onto the substrate by applying the Langmuir-Schaefer transfer method. Random lasing was achieved from a single self-assembled monolayer of the vertically oriented CQWs. Here, highly rough surfaces resulting from the non-close packing nature of the CQW stack films cause strongly thickness-dependent behavior. We observed that in general a higher roughness-to-thickness ratio of the CQW stack films (e.g., thinner films that are intrinsically rough enough) leads to random lasing, while it is possible to observe ASE only in thick enough films even if their roughness is relatively higher.     Optoelectronic characterization of Bi-doped ZnO nanocomposites for Schottky interlayer applications

    In this study, Bi doped ZnO (Bi:ZnO) nanocomposites mixed with different weight-percentages (0.1, 0.3, 0.5% Bi) content were coated on the p-Si wafer via spin-coating method. Some main electrical and optical parameters of the Schottky structure with Bi doped ZnO interlayer have been evaluated in dark and under different illumi-nation intensities (20, 40, 60, 80, 100 mW/cm2). Optical and electrical features of the Al/(Bi:ZnO)/p-Si (MIS) type PD were investigated and compared via current-voltage/time (I-V/t) and capacitance/conductance-voltage (C/G/w-V) measurements at 1 MHz. Main electrical parameters of them such as ideality factor (n), zero bias barrier height (phi Bo), and series resistance (Rs) were calculated on dark and 100 mV/cm2 illumination intensity. As a result of Ohm's law used in the determination of Rs, contribution rate increases while Rs values decrease. In addition, the electrical admittance measurements were made at 1 MHz. The C-2-V properties and the photo-voltaic property of the diode was analysed according to the results obtained

    Liberal Theology and the Rise of the Qur'an as An Academic Text in Modern Türkiye

    The Faculties of Theology in T & uuml;rkiye have brought together notably different and diverse theological attitudes since they were founded. Despite the diversity, it is possible to say that theology as a science and suitable for the establishment aims of these faculties carries on as an essential tendentious in modern universities. The substantial representatives of such a tendency are mostly liberal theologians in university chairs and intellectuals who have adopted the same scientific-methodological frameworks as them. Despite the occasional rise and fall, the ideal of producing a rational and sometimes liberal-positivist theology suitable to universities' scientific and methodological tendencies has always been a subject of increasing interest between these two groups. A manner of liberal theology in T & uuml;rkiye is essential to Western Protestant liberal theology. Because it was used the Western Protestant theology faculties as a model in the foundation of the faculties of theology in T & uuml;rkiye, liberal theologians have in some ways, attempted to adapt the historical-critical method and literary criticism programs in the Christian world to the Qur'an and hadith studies. In this way, they have assumed that they could overcome the stagnation of Turkish society in the religious field and establish a rational interpretation of Islam in harmony with modern cultural structures and values. Therefore, this new form of theology, which has been organized mainly for the scientific-intellectual movement in universities and sometimes opposed to traditional dogmatic discourses, represents a tendency that we can describe as liberal and critical in the studies of the Qur'an.In this article, I discuss the relationship between liberal theology and Qur'anic studies and the status of theology as a science in universities in T & uuml;rkiye. In this context, I aim to show the different aspects of the Qur'an as an academic text under scientific-intellectual ideals. The concept of the academic Qur'an means that it is seen the Qur'an as a text from late antiquity in the research programs of universities. Thus, liberal theologians have supposed a principle that it could be applied the historical-critical methodologies used to other ancient or sacred texts to the Qur'anic passages, too. In this way, they have been to think that they can establish a connection between modern cultural values and the Qur'an and develop a rational interpretation of the religion of Islam. I have to state here that I have adapted the concept of the academic Qur'an to Qur'anic studies, starting from M. C. Legaspi's notion of the Academic Bible. The reason for adapting such a concept from Christian theology to Qur'anic studies is that I think the liberal theology in T & uuml;rkiye closely follows Protestant liberalism as a process. I discuss these similarities throughout the article in detail.I designed the article under three headings for his purpose. In the first chapter, I examine the development of Protestant liberalism in the Christian world and its relationship with the Bible. I try to show how these processes have affected liberal theology in T & uuml;rkiye. In the second chapter, I refer to the establishment of faculties of theology within the framework of Turkish reformed universities. In this context, I draw attention to the shifts in the institutional structure that contributed to the production of religious knowledge. I discuss this process through two symbols that represent traditional and modern thought. Thus, I claim that the Church-university opposition to Christian theology in some ways coincides with the madrasah-university opposition in T & uuml;rkiye. I discuss this opposition through the symbols of the mullah-professor. I also argue that this situation spread liberal theology programs in universities, served to produce a theology under the control of the state, and allowed the Qur'an to be researched as an academic text in a scientific-intellectual activity. All these developments are the basis for studying the Qur'an as an academic text. In the third chapter, I treat the methodological and hermeneutic interests that liberal theologians have brought to the fore in their studies of the Qur'an. In this context, I compare the methods of Biblical criticism in Christian theology with modern Qur'anic studies. I also argue that historical-critical studies influence other theological programs' main methodological orientations. I mainly discuss the primary and decisive influences of historical research on Qur'anic studies and discussions on the historicity of the Qur'an through some examples. Thus, I draw attention to the connection of current debates on the history, source, and authenticity of the Qur'an in the faculties of theology with these processes. Finally, I discuss the relationships between the rise of liberal theology and the study of the Qur'an as an academic text through some examples

    Öznitelik seçimi problemleri için ikili beyaz köpekbalığı optimizasyon algoritması

    Öznitelik seçimi, makine öğrenmesi problemlerinde kabul edilebilir bir sınıflandırma doğruluğunu hedeflerken, aynı zamanda büyük ölçekli bir veri kümesinden gereksiz, alakasız ve gürültülü öznitelikleri elimine etme işlemidir. Aslında öznitelik seçimi de bir optimizasyon problemi olarak nitelendirilebilir. Literatürde metasezgisel optimizasyon algoritmalarının, optimum öznitelik alt kümelerinin bulunmasında başarılı performansa sahip olduğu çalışmalar mevcuttur. Bu çalışmada da beyaz köpek balığı optimizasyon algoritması (BKO), S, V ve U-şekilli transfer fonksiyonları ile ikili forma dönüştürülerek öznitelik seçimi için kullanılmıştır. Önerilen yöntemler UCI veri deposundaki sekiz farklı veri kümesi üzerinde uygulanmış ve sınıflandırma doğrulukları, uygunluk değerleri ve seçilen öznitelik sayıları yönünden incelenmiştir. Sınıflandırıcı olarak k-en yakın komşuluk sınıflandırıcısı kullanılmıştır. Daha sonra farklı metasezgisel algoritmalarla karşılaştırılarak Freidman sıralama testi uygulanmıştır. Deneysel sonuçlar önerilen metotların, öznitelik seçiminde başarılı olduğunu ve sınıflandırma başarısını artırdığını göstermektedir. Özellikle V ve U-şekilli versiyonların daha kararlı ve yüksek doğrulukla sonuçlar ürettiği yorumu yapılabilir
